We're getting married in Hawai'I and want our wedding to be super lush and aren't really limited much by budget (which tbh, may be part of why we have this difficulty at all). The thing is, we are also having a massive wedding (a thousand people), heavy on flowers. 8 bouquets, 7 boutonnieres (my FH is going shirtless with a henna tattoo across his arms, back and chest), 14 leis, 2 flower girls, 180+ arrangements for cocktail hour and our reception) add to that a garland to go all of the way down both sides of the aisle. Our wedding is over a year away. Am I being crazy, overly cautious or should we have more than one florist for this job. I don't think our florist is incompetent, I am concerned about overloading our vendors bc (apparently) nobody on Oahu, where our wedding is going to be, has worked such a huge wedding.
I have similar concerns for our baker and caterer although the caterer, I know can hire day-of help.
Are vendors likely to inform a bride or planner if they need help? Should we get another florist and split the work?
