a little worried

Krista, on June 12, 2019 at 5:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
So I’m freaking out a little and can’t keep it in anymore, but I’m too afraid to actually share it with anyone because I’m sure it will resolve with some cleaning, but I can’t find my grandmas wedding ring. When my grandma died she left her wedding ring to me and I always knew I wanted to wear it! Well with the few “recent” fires in California and making go bags that I know I put the ring in and moving in with my fiancé I have NO idea where it is. I know I’ll find it because there is no way it can vanish or be thrown away! I’m just worried because it’s one of the few things I have from my grandma. Thanks for listening!

Oh man, that would definitely have me stressed too! I very rarely lose things, but when I do, I can't let it go until I find it....even if it's something inconsequential like a tube of lipstick! Wrack your brain for all of the places it could possibly be and start there. It will turn up!

Completely understandable panick! That being said it'll show up, probably somewhere strange. Your grandmother would likely be glad you're safe from the fire above all else, try to remember that too. ❤️

I can understand your panic but try to relax and go over in your head the different places it could be. I had this happen with a special piece of jewelry not king ago and I totally panicked for days and after a few days I was cleaning and found it (right where I put it to keep it safe). 😂. Good luck finding it.

Ah! Thats a terrible feeling of panic, guilt and anxiety. When you have time, just start sorting through things, room by room. Boxes, drawers, bags clothes, everything. Try to do it little by little. If you are totally panicked, you might miss it. Give yourself a breather, and have good intentions and say a prayer (if thats what youre into) or put it out into universe (if thats what youre into) or even talk to Grandma. I know this sounds nuts, but do whatever you have to with positive intention. Ill be thinking of you.

Pray to your angels and ask them to help you find it if you believe in that sort of thing. But try to find it sooner than later bc jewelry has a habit of growing legs and walking away sometimes. Sorry

I hope you find it! I'm sorry you cannot find it right now but I'm sure it'll turn up. I bet you're freaking out, I completely understand.

Wow. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you find the ring soon.

I was like that when my grandmother passed, she and I always played 500 rummy. So when she passed my mom asked me if there was anything I wanted of my grandmother's. All I said was I wanted the deck of cards she and I played with. Shes been gone 6 years now and still to this day I will not play with that deck of cards. Those cards will never be played with again. They are sitting in a zip-lock bag wating to be made into a shadow box display. They still smell like her house.

I know the feeling of moving and not knowing where anything is. Your best bet is to start in one place and look then move to another room and go through everything. This isn't a wedding related item but at Thanksgiving we had dinner at our new house and I couldn't find the electric knife to save my life! I swore it was in a box in the basement but never found it. A couple of months later we were looking for something in the kitchen and opened the cabinet above the microwave and there was the knife. Lol Moral of the story, look everywhere even if you think "oh it can't possibly be there." Good luck!

Try putting a pantyhose over a vacuum hose and vacuum everywhere. If the ring fell on the floor somewhere, the suction will pull the ring onto the pantyhose barrier
