a Little Suggestion From a Newlywed

HowCo Industries, on August 28, 2019 at 12:22 PM Posted in Planning 1 6
In the next couple months I'm scheduling an appointment to get our portrait done for our Christmas cards. I think sending out holiday cards is a vastly undervalued resource. I had all of the addresses together and it's a great line for who you should invite. If they don't warrant a card, they definitely don't get an invite.
I hope this is helpful!

Thank you for sharing your bridal wisdom! That's a great way to go about if anyone's needing to cut the guest list

Haha - we used Christmas cards as a guise to get addresses of everyone we were considering inviting to the wedding. We normally send out cards, but mostly just to family and very close friends. This year a lot more people got cards, and then we had every address we needed when it came to sending save the dates.

We sent Christmas cards out prior so we did have a lot of the addresses, but some we didn't and they were still invited. We don't send Christmas cards to young single guys especially if they rent a room in a house or an apartment, we don't send Christmas cards to our parent's friends unless we see them normally either.

I completely agree! I've been sending out Christmas cards religiously every year since my son was born (he's 11 now) and always have up to date addresses. My family knows to call me when they need one! Since it's not as common as it was when I was a kid, people really appreciate it and every year talk about how they can't wait to get it and how much they love the card. I usually send out about 100 cards, but since my list has grown so much I don't hand write them anymore and just order them online.
