Dedicated September 2020

a little positivity

Ashley, on June 1, 2020 at 3:30 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18
So, I'm getting married on September 5th in very rural PA, and we've decided to keep chugging along with wedding plans. We are getting married in my fiance's home county (which is right next to mine) so most guests will be from the area already. The county is in the green currently, and is allowing groups of 250 people or less. We are doing an outdoor ceremony and reception, and we've been slowly paying things off leading up to the wedding. I'm more optimistic now than I have felt in months, and it feels so nice to feel that way. Anyone else have a wedding in the next few months and is feeling relieved with your prospects?

Congratulations and that's awesome that they are willing to accommodate large sizes during this time. I can't say I'm getting married in the next few months rather November but I am I guess in a good situation because we decided to elope from the beginning so even with our two guests and two photographers we are well under the 10-person limit which now they may allow more people but I'm excited by something but still trying to figure out logistics on others.

Thanks! My home county only has around 18 cases total, and the county where we are having our wedding only has 30-something total, so they are in good shape. I'm so happy that you can still do what you planned! The limit of 10 may be in even better shape by the time November rolls around too. 😊

I’m getting married October 24th and we’re expecting everything to go as planned and I’m relieved. I’m trying not to get too excited but praying that things just keep opening up

That's great! It's such a good feeling to finally feel at peace. I still worry sometimes that it will spike again, especially with these protests, but I've been trying to be opyinistic!

I have a friend whose wedding is not long after yours and I think she's finally feeling a bit better. Hers is in a hot spot county, so things have been a little bit more iffy for her than for me. I'm glad things are looking better for you too!

I'm getting married on 10/10/2020 and feeling a lot more relieved after finally getting a hold of my venue! They said we should be good to go by October, especially with my small guest count of about 40 people.

Not sure where in Pennsylvania you are getting married, but I'm from a small town in Pennsylvania and I know friends of mine plan on getting married in August in Pennsylvania. Their ceremony and reception are outside and the bride is definitely relieved that they are now allowing up to 250. Not sure what restrictions might be in place though. I had heard some brides say the six foot rule still applies, that masks must be worn, and dancing is prohibited. Hopefully that's not the case for your wedding.

We’re getting married in rural Pa as well October 10. Our venue said they don’t think we will have any issues and should be fine. We have a smaller guest list too, inviting 80 max. So it’s mostly just family and very close friends. I’m really not worried at this point I really think things will be okay for us!

    Bradford County!
Can't have a wedding without dancing! Lol I think I will wait and see how things look but I like the idea of wearing masks if guests feel they need them. Again, though, the restrictions will just depend I suppose!

That’s great news for you! Good news for me too, maybe? I’m getting married 10/4 in Bucks County, so hopefully they’ll start opening soon.
250 people? That’s great, my guest count is only 120 and I was worried! Thanks for the wonderful news! So happy you’ll be able to move forward with your plans!

I know, I was so excited! Is Buck's in yellow or green? If you're yellow, I'm sure you'll hit green soon! We are only expecting 140 at most so I'm more than ecstatic that 250 is allowed

That’s awesome! I also love how your state has differentiated counties. NC has not, one ruling for the whole state, though counties can choose to stay more restricted if they want to. I’m still hopeful that numbers will be allowed to increase by Oct 24. Right now we’re still 25 for outdoor and 10 indoors.

I'm glad PA is doing that too. I live in MD and it's similar to yours, but MD is slowly getting there too. I think things will be better by October!
