A little fluff

Aylenrose, on April 13, 2017 at 4:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Is there anything I can get that will keep the bottom of my dress a little more flared out? Closer to the picture below so it doesn't look so flat or do you think its better without anything?

I actually think it's really beautiful not fluffed out.

If it were not fitted in the hips, I would suggest a petticoat of some sorts. A seamstress could potentially add a wire to help it maintain shape (if you prefer it flared out).

You can get a crinoline made for use with mermaid or trumpet style dresses. That should do the trick.

There are mermaid slips you can buy. They have extra tulle at the bottoms to make the mermaid dress flare out.

I also like it better when it's not fluffed out. It shows more of an hourglass figure. When it's fluffed out, you lose your body shape a little. But that's just my opinion.

Mermaid/trumpet slip. Sometimes also called a crinoline or a petticoat.

My dress is teeeechnically a trumpet, though it looks more a-line. I have a slip that goes about to my knees and then flares out with a crapton of tulle. I like this, because that means when I'm walking, the front of the dress won't get caught between my legs.

They make slips that have extra tulle at the bottom to make it stand out. I can't believe the bridal salon didn't try to sell you one...

Crenalin. They should be able to add a layer during alterations for relatively inexpensive. Especially at a mom and pop alterations place.

I had my seamstress at my bridal shop sew in an extra layer of crinoline for my mermaid style dress to keep the bottom part of the skirt flared out and make sure it didn't drag.

Thank you guys! They just spread the bottom out to look more fluffed out but when I walk it goes flat they never mentioned a slip before but I know what to look for now. Smiley smile
