a line dress alterations

Laura, on March 29, 2020 at 12:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 1

So, my date was postponed so now I have time to think about some things - like alterations! First, this dress does not fit me and there is no 'waistband' -it's pulling so they could zip it. It's an A line dress. I wanted it more fitted through the hips but I realized that was because I don't like the waistband look. I think that re-fashioning my dress into a different shape is a no because of the lace, but I do think that I'll remove some tulle.

Does anyone have before or after photos - who has actually done this???

Hey there! I love finding the silver lining in things, so I'm glad you get more time to make sure you're thrilled with your dress. So would removing the tulle only be to make the waist fit differently, or because you want less of a flair too? Might tightening the dress through the upper hips a little bit make the look more to your liking? I don't know how much farther down it could be brought in if there's a waist built into the skirt but maybe it could be tacked in a little to make it more of a drop waist shape. Is that the look you prefer?
