When would this song be? Before/during ceremony? Reception?

Are you religious? If you are Catholic, for instance, you may have restrictions on what can be performed. If you are a Christian, try looking up Christian wedding songs. There are the “The Prayer” and “Ave Maria.”

    If it's not religious, there's:

    "I Do" Natalie Cole,

"Ribbon in the Sky" Stevie Wonder,

    "Song Bird" by Ava Cassidy,

“This is My Promise” by the Temptations

“I’ll Be There” (Michael Jackson or Mariah Carey) i

    “Cant Help Falling In Love”

    “Endless Love” by Diana Ross

    "At Last" Etta James

Tamesha, besides it being during the ceremony, can you give more context or information? Like who is singing and why? What are you going for at your ceremony? What's the over all feel/vision for your wedding, etc. That will help people respond.

When would this song be? Who is singing it? More information is definitely helpful with a question like this.

I'm with @DumbleDora on this one, singing during a ceremony strikes me as a little awkward.

We need way more context for this. Is it a religious ceremony? What part of the ceremony is this--seating of the mothers, bridesmaids entrance, etc? What style of music are you going with?

I'm having a family friend sing A Parent's Prayer by Steven Curtis Chapman when we do the Unity Candle or Sand (haven't decided yet) during our ceremony because it's a song about the parents letting go of two so they can become one and it fits.

My friend asked me to sing The Lords Prayer during a wedding ceremony before rather than having the guests recite it. I also sang A Thousand Years as my friend's entrance song when she got married because that was what she requested.

I definitely agree there needs to be more context in order to answer this question. Singing can be tacky, but it can also be cute. I think there's a fine line and it also depends who you are as a couple. People who know me are expecting to have more music at my wedding than most weddings because I'm a musician myself.

Oh wow! Well if they're a gospel artist then they should have some songs they love singing, or solos they think would be good for a wedding, right? Is your ceremony religious? Like @FutureMrsWebb! asked, some more context would be helpful!

So then maybe ask the artist what song they would recommend?

"Love is you" & "Golden" by Chrisette Michelle are both great songs. I'm having our soloist sing Love is you just slowed down the words are beautiful to both songs. Also check out "I'm Sure It's You" by Shelea
