92 cent stamps

Katie , on July 7, 2018 at 3:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Went to the post office today and weighed my sample invite. Three workers debated over my invite and determined I would need to pay an additional 21 cent special Handling fee (adding a wax seal inside) on top of a 2oz stamp - so 92 cents. She suggested doing two forever stamps but then I’m overpaying 8 cents an invite. Kind of a rip off right? Should I just overpay or is there any other option? Looks like zazzle isn’t doing stamps any longer.

They have a few different priced stamps on the USPS website. I am guessing since the postal workers suggested using 2 Forever Stamps, they may not be high enough or the right denominations but something to look into.

Your options would be to do a 72oz stamp and then a forever stamp or my assumption is whatever the postal worker recommended. You could also potentially buy the next size up stamp. But either way you’re going to end up paying more than You technically need bc there are no stamps for that price. My invites were 1.5 oz so we had to pay more for that 2oz stamps bc thy were right in the middle

I used two forever stamps. I didn’t want to risk them being returned 🤷🏾‍♀️. I also had a wax seal.

Our postal office didn’t charge us for the hand processing of our invites... I haven’t seen many $.91 stamps. We simply paid for the $.71 stamps, and they took care of the hand cancelling. We have a seal on ours as well.

How many invites are you sending out? It’s only an extra $8 per hundred. Do the 2 forever stamps. We’re not talking s lot of money here.

Do a 2 oz stamp and an extra oz stamp (costs $0.21).

It’s totally not a big deal - just the principle of it. Hard to believe I can order a Person to come do my hair at home through an App but the USPS can’t figure out customized postage.

Technically you can through stamps.com, and their netstamps...

I over bought stamps for us, not a big deal to me. Probably spent an extra $5-$8. Oh well, 🤷‍♀️

Well, I’ll agree with you on that. However, you’d be paying extra for customized stamps through Zazzle anyway.

I was also told I needed a 92 cent stamp and I hated the way the 92 cent stamp looked, so I just did 2 forever stamps that were much prettier and it really wasn’t a huge difference money wise.
