7:30 pm Ceremony Start Time: Too Late?!

We think we've found our dream wedding venue ... one snag: they have a 7:30 pm ceremony start time. I feel that is way too late, FH tends to agree with me. The catch is that they have one date available that we could possibly start at 6-ish ... however, FH has negative feelings towards that date, 9/29, because he and his ex were married on 3/29. I don't want to get married on a date that would remind him of his ex ... but I also don't want a 7:30 pm ceremony ... I've asked the venue if we could possibly do the cocktail hour before the ceremony, but they don't really have space for us to do so. Our wedding will be intimate, at 30 guests total and mostly an older group. We haven't planned for dancing or any of the other traditional wedding things (bouquet toss, garter toss, etc). I think I may need to keep looking for a new location unless we can find a way to get the venue to allow an earlier start to our day. Thoughts? Opinions?

No I don't think it's late. Cause my wedding is starting @7pm ,cause it's on a Friday and a lot of our guests have a job.

We're starting at 7:00 and going straight to dinner after the ceremony. We'll do a first look and all pictures before the ceremony so we can enjoy dinner with our guests. We aren't having a dance party vibe either, more of a dinner party and are very happy with that decision.

That seems too late. Kinda a know your crowd thing, and I also think the 3/29 9/29 thing is a bit silly. I'm excited for 9/29!!

730 on a Friday doesn't seem extremely late considering I'm going to be at work until 6pm. But I would still feel its going to be a late night because there will be no resting period

We had a 730 ceremony and reception 8 to midnight. It was fine.

Mine will be at 7:30 too, I love evening weddings, I think they are romantic (not that daytime aren't) but I've always dreamt of one at night. I'm sure people will be prepared to have late dinner that day so I don't think you have an issue there!
