6 Weeks To Go!

Ashley, on July 26, 2020 at 8:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
My wedding is in 6 WEEKS! It feels crazy that it's finally so close, especially with all the anxiety about being a Covid bride. I'm grateful that we decided from the get-go pre-pandemic to do everything back home (very rural PA) in a wide open outside space because we haven't had to change too much, thankfully.

Anyway, any advice or "last minute" things you wish you had thought of? (Please don't make your advice to postpone or cancel. We are making this happen...we've put too much into it not to and I just want to get married at this point ❤)

Thank you! We've been together 5.5 years so I'm so ready for it. I see people whose weddings aren't for months considering postponing and it always makes me nervous. But I have to keep telling myself that anyone who is feeling sick or is nervous about coming will just not come and that we are getting tested beforehand and encouraged guests to do the same!

Yes! I would just maybe have sanitizer stations or something as such. I wouldn’t stress about it, like you said if anyone is feeling sick - stay home!

*This ended up being way longer than I meant it to be. It's not as scary as it looks, but I won't be offended if you ignore it. If you do read it, I hope it helps you figure out what, if anything, you need.*

Our wedding is in two weeks and my mom and I just did our last minute list/shopping yesterday. We bought "covid box" supplies, acrylic wine glasses, and lipstick. Those are probably not what you need, but we came up with the list by going through the day in order like this:

The tent will be set up on Friday, and those people will bring all of the tables/chairs/linens/napkins, which my brothers will set up on Saturday morning. We don't need anything for that.
We're getting our hair and makeup done that morning. I'm allergic to the lipstick used in my trial, so I got a similar color from a different brand.
Kelly (florist) will bring and set up all of the centerpieces/arch/other flowers. My dad needs to finish building the arch, but we didn't need to buy anything for this.
Jay (caterer) will bring all of the food and utensils. We didn't need to buy anything for this.
Jane (fmil) is providing the beverages. We needed glasses to use outside that look nice but won't break. I already have a set of acrylic stemless glasses, we bought a set of wine glasses so people can have more than one drink at a time. We will need to buy ice that morning.
(We're having a tiny wedding in my parents' yard, the big reception was postponed due to covid.)
When people arrive, they'll be directed to find their table assignments in the tent. There will be one table per household. Each household will get a covid box. The box will have a mask (which I already made) and hand sanitizer for each person, and provides a place to put their masks while they eat. We will put each person's boutoniere/corsage/bouquet on the table near the box. We bought boxes, tissue paper, ribbon, hand sanitizer, and place cards/tags.

For the ceremony, we will need a Bluetooth speaker for music. My parents already have one.
Then we'll have: food and drinks- already covered, speeches- don't require anything, yard games-my brothers can set them up that morning, ice cream truck- dessert is self-contained.
Now I just have to figure out where we're sleeping that night and how to get there.

That did help, thinking about a play by play of the day! We are actually having ours in our family's yard too!

Definitely make an inventory list and then check it with what you have to make sure you got all you needed and wanted to. That way if you missed something, you still have time to get it
