Ceremony at 3, cocktail hour 330-430, and then dinner at about 5??? Is that too early?

If you have dinner at 5pm your wedding goes late I'd suggest a late night snack. Your catering company can provide appetizers around 8 or 9pm. Guests will get hungry later in the night if dinner is too early.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If you have the option to offer a late nite snack, I would, but that's just me Smiley smile my ceremony is at 5pm, cocktail hour 5:30-6:30, dinner by 7:30 hopefully. We end at 10:30pm

That was almost my exact timeline. It's definitely fine.

Our dinner was around 5:15. It was fine, we just had snacks for later on.

I would push your ceremony to 3:30, then do cocktail 4-5:30 and dinner about 6. Because from 5:30 to 6 you could do your grand entrance and your speech to thank guests. That's what we did. We also did a receiving line so we had

    3:30 ceremony

    4 receiving line

    4:30-6 cocktail hour

    6:15 dinner

I don't think there is anything wrong with that! Either have a lot of desserts or have a late night snack of some sort.

That's how mine is starting. It's a Sunday so it will be over at 8. Now I just have to figure out the timeline for everything during the reception (first dance announcements, toasts, etc). Sorry to hijack, I'll just follow and hope someone gives suggestions Smiley winking

I don't really see anything wrong with that. Lol, we have a similar timeline actually but we're counting it as a late lunch.
