5 foot rounds for 5-9 people?

Caitlyn, on August 14, 2019 at 2:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Hello,

We are getting down the wire and started to create a seating chart for our reception and all of our tables are going to be 5' rounds. My FH side has mostly 8-9 people per table and my side has 5-6 people per table. Do you think my tables will look empty with less people and place settings? Frankly, I can't do anything about it at this point - it's just how our guest list turned out. Also worth noting, we will have centerpieces (below), a table number stand (with table number sign), three votive candles and salt and pepper shakers at each table.

Thanks all!

PS I am SO ready for this to be over - one month and counting. Is that sad? I think at this point I feel a little down that my side was a 50-50 split and FH only had 6 people decline. I just need keep my head up and focus on what's important.

I don't think your tables will look empty, but have you checked to make sure that you can comfortably sit 8-9 people per table? Like, gone to the venue and set up the layout? Only asking because our venue tried to tell us our tables could sit 8-10 people, but we found out when we did a moch layout at our venue (a month before the wedding) that we could only fit 8 max.

Good point and thanks for your input. I'll see if I can schedule a mock layout.

Personally I think 8 should be the max at 60 inch rounds. Anything more than that and it gets tight.

I am feeling your pain. 23 days and I'm ready to be done. Part of me feels like all this work and stress then it is over in a blink of an eye. Our tables are 5 feet around also. I would suggest only 6-8 people per table. Just so people can breath and not feel cramped. I love your centerpieces. I need to do another mock of our table set up. I just can't get motivated

I would be worried that people would be squished or simply not fit with 8-9 at a table. I would definitely go and see how that looks set up with chairs. Just because they fit by measurement, doesn’t mean there’s room for elbows and eating. If you do decide that you need to change things, you can mix up your families. Put his and your cousins at the same table instead of with their parents. They would probably enjoy the company of people their own age. No matter what you decide, remember that they’re only seating assignments and no one is going to think poorly of you or your wedding based on that!
