5 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen

Michelle, on December 11, 2017 at 6:28 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 3

I have asked my five closest friends including family to be my bridesmaids but my FH only wants his two brothers as his groomsmen. I have no problem for the start of the ceremony but what about the exit and the announcement for the reception?

Have the guys bookend the women, MFFFFFM? Or just announce them alphabetically?

I'm having a similar party size. 6 BM and 3 GM. I am not going to have the guys walk down the aisle, they will start at the front and the BM will walk down on their own. Exit just do all females then males or the other way. Announcements may be done with 2 BM with 1 GM or all individually

They just double up. Last weekend, I had 8 GM and 5 BM. They recessed with two girls to one guy in some cases, and that's how they were intro'd. (The guys were in front, the women walked up one by one).

I can tell you for a fact, backed by experiential observations, that no one pays as much attention to this as you will. By the the recessional, they are one foot out the door, and with the announcements, they're wondering where the first course is or they're at the bar.
