I think the mermaid looks great on you! I hope you and the seamstress are able to make it work! Maybe do a bird cage veil if you want to compromise, which you can remove after the ceremony? The mermaid dress itself is very bridal, so if you stick to not wearing a veil at all, no one will miss it.

That first one looks AMAZING on you!! If it's a little tight you can always have a seamstress let it out and put a corset in! I think it'd be just as beautiful with the corset!

I took it to a seamstress months ago and she said it couldn't be let out and the lace hem was an issue and then the quote was high. I cried ... but maybe she just didn't want to tackle it. Where I'm headed now has really great reviews and they are willing to look at it. So, lets hope that I was steered wrong - every other dress in that size fits perfectly - I just don't understand it. All those dresses are the same size.

OMG!!! I went in and the wife said she wasn't sure but that we needed her husband for a dress like mine. He comes out and I'm nervous - he stands behind me and hooks the dress... Then said, she just needs a 3" corset put in - then he asked me if that would be ok. The reason is that we'd lose a little of the beading and buttons. I told him I'd rather wear the dress then never wear it - but could he make it fit? I was told it couldn't be done. He said "Sure, why not? You see the top isn't fitting right. That means that nothing is hanging where it should. So, you make the top hug you and then pull the laces - I bet that you won't need the hips let out. Nothing is right because nothing is falling where it should. It's beautiful why would we not let you wear your pretty dress?" I damn near cried. I had to stop myself while I was there. I kept waiting for them to tell me they changed their mind. Instead they wrote out the slip to keep it for alterations.... Gulp....

So, I'm here to officially announce that my dress is in mother-bleeping alterations! Cost of corset - $98. Then back to check that everything is falling where it should with it laced. Then either onto the hips or the hem. And to think I almost gave up! Ok, now I am crying.

But I'm also squealing .... I GET TO WEAR MY FREAKING DRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just going to sit here and cry and wait for reacts. HA! I love you guys so much!!!!

That's what they said to do - I can wear my dress! They kept it for alterations!!!!! Thank you so much - I was so nervous to ask,.... I didn't want to be the bride with the dress that didn't fit and looked like a sausage. I'm so freaking happy!!! Thank you!!

I agree with everyone. It's your day, your body and ultimately the decision should be yours to make. With that said, I think you look amazing in the mermaid dress although the other two look good on you as well. Go with what feels right in your gut or your heart and congrats.
