What is the problem you have concerning time? Are you concerned with fitting all conventional reception details into a shorter time period or maybe addressing venue and catering scheduling?

What do you need help with? I will say that's a rather short time frame as most receptions are four hours in length. Our wedding was from 4:30 to 10 which included ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I wouldn't have wanted to try to squeeze anything into a shorter time.

Are you serving a meal? What dances do you plan on? Toasts?

My ceremony is at 4:30 pm and my reception ends at 9 pm. (my ceremony and reception are in the same location). If you are having hair and makeup done, i would ask them how long they need for you and your girls. That will be the start of your timeline.( ex... if you are doing pictures before ceremony, and say you have 4 girls, you would probably need around 2 hours, so you will be starting around 9 am, makeup would probably take another 2 hours so now hair and makeup are 4 hours total. So 9 am- 1 pm) Then i would put in the timeline if you are having a first look/first touch/private vows or taking couple and bridal party pictures (you can get help with this part from your photographer.) They can tell you how long it will take for them to get these shots regardless if you do them before or after the ceremony. Place any travel time here if you need to get from getting ready spot to the venue. Then put in the ceremony and how long it will be (so the prelude, bridal party walk down, ceremony vows, and the recessional). Then for reception i would put in what's important to you and give that to your DJ who should act as the emcee for the night. You can tell him the time you will be entering the reception and what time your reception should end. Then give him a list in order of what you want to happen (ex.....entrance, toasts, first dance, parent dances, dinner, open up dance floor, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss if your having one, send off) Hope that helps Smiley smile

Unless you guys are cutting out some big pieces of the wedding and still make it work....that's the only spot I see this even feasible. Like most have already said...... ours is synced down to the minutes and we still are rolling into about 930p- 10pm.
Take a look at all what you're trying to accomplish and see what is actually not needed versus what is wanted and eats up alot of time.
