Hi there! So I bought a dress that I just fell in love with. Than we called off our engagement. Now it is back on, and the dress is in. I tried it on, and it is to small! I mean, its not just small, but now I hate how it looks. The first time the dress fit me in all the right spots, and made my...

Hi there! So I bought a dress that I just fell in love with. Than we called off our engagement. Now it is back on, and the dress is in. I tried it on, and it is to small! I mean, its not just small, but now I hate how it looks. The first time the dress fit me in all the right spots, and made my 250lb plus size self look beautiful. Now I have gained 40 lbs ::yikes:: and it is to small, and looks terrible! I can't add a corset back, because the back is all lace! I am going to do all I can, but I've already wasted 2 months, and have only lost 10 lbs.

I am not sure what I am asking, maybe advice, other stories you have had. Motivation, or ways to fix the dress?

Thanks bees! I posted a picture of the dress when I tried it on to now, and how the back isn't fitting...

I recently lost 30 lbs doing the HCG diet. I have about 25 more to go before my engagement pix in March. I am taking a break for the holidays dieting, just trying to maintain for now, but comes Jan 2nd I am back on it. Some people are against it, but that's because they need to do research first. If done correctly, it works!! It taught me how to eat correctly and what NOT to eat. Here's one pic of me before and me about 3 weeks ago. Took a quick selfie before going out with friends :-)

Please ignore Marina ' s advice. The HCG diet is dangerous.

Ren, I am not advising to do it, I had only mentioned it that is what I did and it worked for me (with no side affects). I did it under the supervision of 2 doctors and met people who also have done it, and who were happy with results :-)

Consider hiring a personal trainer to help you organize an effective exercise plan. I hired a lovely trainer through my local YMCA branch and believe me, I've seen solid results in just the first four weeks (9 inches and 13 pounds in total lost). Seeing results, feeling more energetic and feeling better about yourself in general are real motivating factors too! I've also cut out processed foods & sugar and am being very mindful of carbs. You can do it, sister! Hang in there. You're beautiful and you're going to be a beautiful bride!

I understand I need to lose about 20 lbs but I've bought my dress and it zips just is a touch tight. I echo the comments about eating well and exercise. Exercise can help with inches and really watch how much you eat along with what you eat. Track and weigh your food. Try to stick to it and hopefully you see results. If you lose some and it is just a touch tight maybe you can try a shaper of some sort like spanx to hold things in a bit or smooth a bit. It doesn't look like you need to lose 40 to fit into your dress and if you've lost 10 you're on your way. Maybe your dress could be let out a bit in the seams. You will be a beautiful bride, your dress is fantastic. You can do it.

I started a dietbet yesterday for us brides that are working toward a weight loss goal, if you are looking for any extra motivation. Here is the post from yesterday. If you want more info, I'm happy to help.

Looks like some good spanx could help! You're not far off- dress looked too big before, just gotta get it closed and you'll be perfect! My guess is another 20 lbs. 5 lbs a month you can do it!!
