30 year old Niece flower girl

I'm having a small, simple and fun summer wedding outside in the parking lot where my guy works. It's my first wedding at the ripe ol age of 59. Nothing we have planned so far is traditional by any means. The only child attending will be my 5 year old great nephew who will be my ring bearer. My question is this, if his mom, my 30 year old niece who I'm extremely close with, walks him down the aisle (which is actually walking in the middle of a few picnic tables), would it be silly if she tosses some petals in the aisle? Thanks everyone!

It seems okay since she would be helping the ring bearer and could do double duty. It may make more sense if she is holding one of his hands and can carry the petals in a purse while grabbing them and tossing them on the way to the altar. At least that would be my preference in the situation.

You don’t havr to stick to a tradition. Your marriage won’t be silly because of this: it’s the opposite ... and the guests will likely love and smile or laugh... and your ceremony will 'stand out’ since you don’t see that often. So, veryone can do this job , for example this guy and these grandmas:
