3 year engagement!

Madison, on August 19, 2016 at 9:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I just got engaged August 2nd, 2016 at Disney World and I'm incredibly excited to get married but I have to wait to start planning for our wedding, which will be in 2019, but I'm dying to start planning! Anyone else feel this way or have a long engagement?

I had to wait 5 years. We saved for years for the perfect wedding for us. It was worth it and it comes quicker than you think.

Our engagement is over two years. Yes it sucks waiting to marry your love, but this early you have your pick of vendors and have time to save. A long engagement is less stressful.

We'll be five years engaged by the time we finally get married. Pro-tip. Don't buy your dress yet since you'll potentially outfat it and have to buy a new one. Styles and preferences change. Don't ask any one to be a BM either. People can change. Start saving now and know that this far out ahead, you'll have your pick vendors and venues. T

It will be close to 3 years of engagement by the time we get married. I have just been super eager to plan officially instead of just researching.

Sure, stick around and learn. We have one bride-to-be who actively posts, and she has a wedding date of 2020. I wouldn't be quite that focused, but we are an all-inclusive community. As long as you're aren't 16 or 17, jump in...the water's fine.

We got engaged 10/5/12 and are getting married 10/8/16, so I understand! Start gathering ideas, and start with a budget. Despite what some may say you can plan 2 years out. We booked our venue and photographer 2 years out! We got a better rate because of it. Both of those have increased their prices twice since, but because we signed a contract before that, we had the price at the time the contract was signed. Congratulations!

CONGRATS!!! I understand I'm in the same boat my wedding is 5/25/19. I'm doing a lot of research and coming up with a budget and figuring out where I want to have my wedding. Me and my FH are saying up as well. I hope this helps and enjoy the time you have to plan and being engaged

2 year and 2 day engagement. We're a month away from being 6 months in. So 1/4 of the way there! Plan as much as you can as early as you can. A lot of venues/vendors typically only go two years out. So use this year to enjoy being engaged and do lots of research. Please don't ask your bridal party until about 8 months out, that's the biggest mistake a lot of brides here make.

    Congratulations and enjoy it all!!

A long engagement should be less stressful.. Unless you're like me and hate making decisions so you put it off to where it's like you're only having a 7 month engagement. Lol our engagement will be 2 and a half years and I am just now (literally today) decided on a ceremony venue! Don't be like me! Make decisions early and it will save you lots of time and stress!

We had an almost 3 year engagement. It's not that uncommon, I think. We planned a lot of the decor and stuff right away and booked our photographers at the 2 year mark. Everything else was done within the last yearSmiley smile

It was really great! It allowed us to save up to have the wedding we wanted and allowed me to try a lot of DIY's that otherwise I wouldn't have had time to do. Congratulations!

Congratulations we also have a long engagement (2 years) 1.5 lefts. Lol I started planing immediately n kinda wish I wouldn't have. At this point most everything is done and I'm getting annoyed I find my self not liking what I already payed for. I definitely recommend a pintrest board, just save money and enjoy being together. U can wait till about a year before to do anything. But I'll tell u we save a ton of money by booking early n got better discounts.
