I have the same times set and this is my layout :

    morning- getting ready

    1-2: first look pictures

    2:30ish: last minute touches

3: getting everyone seated/ bridesmaids start walking down the aisle

    3:15- vows

    3:30-3:45: ceremony end

4-5:30: family/wedding party pictures (travel time for guests- 30mins away to reception)

    6: entering reception space

dinner, then cake cutting, and then first dance. (as of right now were just going to go with the flow for the reception times )

I would go with an event at 5. By six is too late. Like get to the reception venue then wait for food to be served. I’d be pretty hangry.

We had a full mass at 3:00 followed by family photos at the church and cocktail hour startling at 4:45. Our church and reception venue were 20 minutes apart.

Pkaw well I scheduled it because church told me it will take 2 hrs. .amd my photo guy said he needs 1hour so 3-5 for church, hour for photos, reception dinner at 6. Be sure our food is only for 1hr.

We had a mass at 3, ended at 4:15. Reception venue was 15 minutes away, so the guests started arriving at the reception at 4:30 (cocktail hour 4:30-5:30). Wedding part and family did pictures, then we did our grand entrance at 5:45 and served dinner at 6. Send off at 9! It worked perfectly.
