3 maids of honor and 3 best men...crazy situation

Christina and Jason, on November 20, 2008 at 8:20 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I am getting married in May small destination wedding I have 3 bridesmaids 2 of them are friends that have bent over backwards helping with my wedding. my fiance has 3 groomsmen that he cannot choose between, they have been equally supportive to him for many years. so what can we do? I suggested that if he cannot choose, choose all three to be his best men. I want to choose 1 maid of honor and 1 matron of honor, but I don't want the third bridesmaid to feel left out...so i will ask her to be a maid of honor too ( shes one of my fiance's close friends...if he has three..i might as well have 3 too....right? what should we do...i am open to suggestions @ this point

I can't imagine why there would be a problem with that.

There will be two best men at our wedding (one for me, and one for him). I have both a best man and a matron of honor (hey, that's just the way it worked out for me).

The only possible problem is figuring out who will stand next to you.

Maybe do it by height? Rock paper scissors?

I agree. Any wedding I've been in I didn't care what my title was, I just was glad to be included and able to share their day with them. If you are worried about feelings and it really doesn't matter to you, I'd do it by height or something else like that, and if you are having programs just give them all the same title.

I think you can do it however you feel- it's your wedding!

I have the opposite.. 4 bridesmaids, no maid of honor!

I've made my wedding simple, I have 1 maid of honor and he has 1 best man. The way we did it was we chose our obvious best friends, the ones that everyone knows are our best friends. That way there is no fight and no one feels left out, and if they do then they don't know our reasoning or us at all. And so far no one has put up a fight with who we've chosen.

    Good Luck Christina,

    Amanda

My best friend had an issue when I wanted my close sister in law to be matron of honor so I decided that one is matron of honor and the other is maid of honor and I have one bridesmaid who just wants to be there for me. My best friend lives out of town and I hardly see her so I wanted my sister in law to be there for me every step of the way and make everyone happy. I know its my wedding and I have the say so but the true nature in me loves making people happy also.Smiley smile

I don't think you're crazy. I couldn't decide between my sister who's married or my best friend to be my maid of honor so I'm having one be my maid of honor and my sister be my matron of honor and my hubby couldn't decide between his 2 best friends on who to be the Best Man, so I told him to ask them both. I was ticked off with my sister for when we promised eachother years ago that we would be eachother's maid of honor that she only had me as a bridesmaid in her wedding, but that didn't keep me from my promise to her that she would be a maid of honor in my wedding.

Sorry I didn't mean to pose the jealous side of me reguarding my sister's wedding in your blog. I just felt hurt and wouldn't hurt her the way she hurt me with her wedding, which is why I was ticked off. Reguardless I was happy to be in her wedding and by her side and walk down the isle with our 12 year old brother who was a Jr. Groomsmen (it was really cute in the pictures).
