3.27.20 - Am i forgetting something??!!??

Future Mrs. Cwik, on December 5, 2019 at 12:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 32
Y’all. 2020 is right around the corner! Is anyone else getting married in the first quarter of 2020? Who’s excited? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Who’s also a little stressed? 🙋🏻‍♀️ We didn’t have a wedding planner so I feel like I’m forgetting stuff. Anyone just thinking of things you should have thought of months ago? I just got a photographer last month! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m in April 2020 so 2nd quarter. I have my dress consultation for alterations this upcoming Tuesday and I just now remembered I need my wedding shoes for that 🤦🏻‍♀️ WW has an AMAZING timeline to follow in the planning section. Also, always always always buy a few more stationary than you need and if you’re sending out RSVPs, NUMBER THEM. Half the people forget to put their names on it and you just get back an RSVP saying “will attend” and you’re left wondering WHO

The WW timeline is great, it’s just little quirky things I’m worried I’ll forget lol! Good call on the RSVPs! We are doing ours online to avoid that but had we gone the traditional route that would have been a lifesaver!

I’m doing online RSVP as well because then guests without +1s can’t add them Smiley tongue (yes, some people invited would do that). Look into your decor, flowers, have you booked HMU yet? Talked to your bridal party about their HMU or their dresses? They should have their dresses bought by the end of this month as it takes some time to come in and possibly get altered.
Shoes, jewelry, vows, officiant, cake, flowers, centerpieces, dj, specific songs for ceremony and reception. Those are the big ones. Oh! A card box!

If you ever feel overwhelmed I just like to remind myself that at the end of the day all you REALLY need is you, your spouse, the officiant, marriage license, and two witnesses. Everything else is a happy bonus

Our wedding is in February and yesterday I figured I should start a very specific to do list. It was HUGE in no time, so yeah just a little bit stressed Smiley xd

A few things I had on there were jewelry, trial run of centerpieces, buying ice & alcohol, finishing my DIY florals, making the photography must-have shot list and schedule, table numbers, seating chart, guest book, parent/wedding party gift, rehearsal dinner plans, song list for DJ, ceremony decor, "grand exit" plan (if we do one, still haven't decided), bridal party shrugs/shawls, cake topper, and personalized water bottle labels

Sooooo quite a bit lol. And that's maybe half of my list.

We are sending them out in January - we have people in NY, CA, NV, SC, and of course here in NC, so we want to give plenty of time to decide and find a place to stay, etc. We did hotel blocks and the group rate gets released 30 days before the wedding, so we figured that would give people time.

When are you sending yours out?

Oooh, that’s different! My hotel blocks are keeping the rooms open UNTIL the month before. We’re sending ours out at mid January. We’re the end of April but the wedding is in NY and we have people from: NY NJ SC NC Ireland, and London and we also have an A list and B list- if enough people from A list decline, we’re sending out another batch to the B list in the beginning of February (we want everyone to come but our venue doesn’t allow the number we have in general so family friends are B listers

Ohh sorry I meant they release them from the group rate 30 days before so we have to give time. We thought about an A and B list but most of our people are definitely coming! The 10 that might not come will just help our outrageous catering and booze bills go down lol!

    Our wedding is
at the end of February and I'm excited and overwhelmed! My venue is all
inclusive which has helped a ton but I know there are a lot of little
things I still have to take care of. My bridesmaids put off ordering
their dresses (Amazon) until two weeks ago and when they finally did it
said they would be here as late as mid January. Thankfully my MOH just
had hers delivered yesterday so I'm hoping everyone else's gets here
soon too because I have no idea how they will look on the girls or even
together because they all have different colors.

We have our next appointment with our venue tomorrow and I'm hoping that will put me at ease with some of this stress.

Lol, omg, I agree with that! We were hoping to have 95 guests and then FMIL got a hold of the list and our invites went up to 120!!!! It has gone back down to 110 but we don’t want to go over 105 so if 10+ people decline we can invite the other people we cut out. Our venue is absolutely amazing but it’s $103 pp and that’s most of our $15-17k budget so we had to save in other places (except my dress, oops)

Ughhh, I hate when other people put things off because it’s the one thing you can’t control. 2 of my girls ordered in the beginning of October and still haven’t gotten their dresses yet and I have two other women in the bridal party haven’t gotten their dresses yet

Fingers crossed your girls get their dresses soon! You don't need any more stress than you already have. I know what helped for me was my mom and MOH checked in with the girls to see where they were at with ordering which took some pressure off of me.

Yeah, the biggest problem is that the two girls are on my fiancé’s side. He has two men and two women in his party and he is struggling with getting their butts in gear. He also hasn’t told his sister that she’s not the best (Wo)man yet.... sigh

Uh-oh, my fiance took forever to tell his groomsmen who was best man too but I left that for him to take care of. It's honestly not your problem but I know that it's still frustrating.
