2Nd/older wedding: shower attire?

I am 51 and getting married Nov 17. My sister and friend are hosting a bridal luncheon at a tea room (yay! So excited!) on 9/28. Wondering what to wear?

“Back in the day” brides didn’t necessarily dress up for their showers. And definitely didn’t wear white! Our wedding colors are navy/blush/rose gold and my gown is ivory. This is a question for anyone who’s been to a shower for an older/second bride (I honestly do think some of the traditions are more for first time brides, and I love them!).

Could I wear a floral top, blush or ivory cardigan and slim jeans or pants? Thanks!!

Does the tea room have a dress code? I’ve only been to one but jeans weren’t allowed. I’d check that first and if they have no rules, I think what you’re thinking is good!

Agree about checking on a potential dress code, but when I think "tea room," I think beautiful floral prints. I think your plan sounds awesome & very appropriate. If it's required/preferred you can wear a floral dress & sweater. Have fun!

I honestly haven't even seen a first time bride white to the shower in real life. I say wear what make you feel pretty

The advice to wear what you want is the same regardless of age or number of marriages. I was a second time bride in my 40s and wore an ivory lace dress with a teal cardigan and boots. Check with the tea room for a dress code and if there isn't one then wear what you want.
