In terms of what? I'm planning my second wedding (his first). For me, my first wedding was minimal and sort of tossed together. This time around, I'm doing things a little more traditionally (formal wedding, actual wedding dress, reception, photographers, DOC, etc).

I am almost 1 year married as a second time bride. My advice would be to do whatever makes you happy. Don’t listen to others as to what they believe you should and should not do. It’s your day!!!

This will be a second wedding for both of us... his first was just a justice of the peace and mine was a pretty big wedding but we are planning this one together to make it us!

What’s your wedding date? Do you have your dress picked out?

I think my favorite thing this time around has been FH actually caring about the wedding. I'm project manager by trade, so I've still done the bulk of the planning and organization because that just what I do, LOL. But he has been happy to make suggestions and help with anything I've brought him into, and any major decisions have been made together. This is a complete 180 from how my ex-husband was with that wedding. I planned and paid for EVERYTHING and he just showed up the day of - it was incredibly stressful.

We're eloping July 12th this year, after deciding a week ago to post pone our formal wedding & reception out to next summer. We were originally planning for July 18, this year, and moved it out to July 10, next year. We don't want to wait another year to actually be married, so we're in the process of planning the elopement now.

I have the formal wedding dress (pic below) for next year, and still undecided about wearing it for the elopement also. I have a couple cocktail dresses arriving today or tomorrow to try on for the elopement.

Do you have your date or anything yet? Or is this still early stages for you?

So happy for you! I LOVE your dress!!! I am also a planner. We just picked our date but it’s been hard because of the covid with getting the ring, etc. I did book the venue and photographer and have been looking at other vendors. We are trying to keep costs down so it will be a smaller wedding but built around us... are you guys doing your own vows? I think this time I would like to.

It was my first wedding, but my hubby’s second. We’re unconventional and because he already did the church thing his 1st time, he had no trouble with an outdoor ceremony and both of us wanted a fun themed reception! 🏴‍☠️

This is my second marriage and FH’s first. I agree with doing what makes you happy for both of you in the wedding and thereafter.

Thank you! Smiley smile I'm thrilled right now because we just found and booked a little chapel this weekend for our ceremony in July! And it's sooooo cute and pretty that I've decided I want to wear my dress for this smaller ceremony, along with the big one next year. I'll save the burgundy lace cocktail dress I ended up loving for the cookout after the ceremony. Yay!

We are writing our own vows this time around. The only thing I've asked is that I read mine first. He's a fantastic writer and poet, and I do NOT want to try and follow whatever he puts together because I know I'll be too busy crying and probably laughing a little too.

This is the ceremony space - only $200!! for 90 minutes, up to 15 guests, and they decorate with your color scheme, provide processional/recessional music of your choice, and coffee/tea/lemonade for guests. Plus there's getting ready rooms for the bride and groom, and a cute little patio spot with a little ivy covered bench for photos. It's just unbeatable for the price and convenience!
