I said yes to the dress back in April and I still have a year to go

Such gorgeous dresses all around! Wow! My mom and I are making my wedding dress together. I just bought the pattern for it the other day. It's a long 1940s Belle Curve dress (pattern picture attached along with an example picture of it made). Early next year around January my mom and I are going to hit up several fabric stores in Chicago to find a nice ivory silk, and then we will find a beautiful lace fabric to cut and do lace appliques on the back and over the shoulders with. I am so excited and thrilled to be making a dress with my mom, especially since she used to make me clothes when I was a little kid. It might not turn out perfect, but I know it's something I'll treasure forever.

After a long day in Wilmington I said “Yes to the dress” at Beautiful Brides Of Wilmington! Insanely lucky to find a dress that fit me off the rack, it was the last place I went, the last dress I put on, i knew it was the one before I even got my people to fasten it. It’s hard not to show these photos to my fiancé since he is literally my best friend and honestly my only friend. But it’s important to both of us to not allow that lol. The dress only needs sleeve alterations which is why I marked them out, I am super self conscious about my arms honestly from my wrist up (self harm when I was younger) but I am going to have see through or Lacey sleeves added on. I am not sure what kind of spans I should wear or even if I should wear any? I want to look and feel my best. I have always struggled with self image and body positivity. Now I am off the find veil and shoes, sometime. My wedding is in October.
