Just Said Yes August 2021

2020 or 2021?...

Kayla, on July 26, 2020 at 3:40 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
So we decided to move our wedding ceremony and reception to august 21st 2021. The unique part is that we are still getting married on august 8th 2020, signing our marriage license with our close family. So for decorations andour signsnext year, do we have 8.21.21 or 8.8.20? Would it be weird to have our signage be a different date than the ceremony date?

We’re having our’s a completely different month a day. I think you can do it any time.

Hey date twin!! We are also eloping 8-8-2020 and postponed our reception to 8-7-2021. We are going to use small items again next year. For example, our cake cutting set with our original date and probably our pups ring bearer pillow also with our original date. They will have special meaning to us so I don't see anything wrong with it.

We are however having all printed items and welcome signs with our new date. I don't care if anyone thinks it's weird. I say do what makes you happy 😊

Our original date was 4/11/20 and we'd already ordered all the decorations by the time we had to postpone. Similar to you, we did a small ceremony in April and just postponed the big ceremony and reception. We're just keeping our orginial date on everything, but I think either way would be fine! After dealing with all this craziness, 2020 brides deserve two weddings 😉

I think it's okay to do this either way, so if you already have things printed with your original date, you can keep them. Our dates are 08.08.2020 and 07.24.2021. We didn't have anything printed with dates on them, and I personally like our first date better, but if we do end up printing things (other than for our wedding album or something like that) to use at the reception, we'll use the 2021 date.
