2 year engagement 2020

Brittany, on February 9, 2018 at 2:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
Little bummed, I was really wanting to be married next year. I thought we could do it for under 10,000 but after getting quotes it will be closer to 15,000. We could afford to do it next year, but we would really have to cut back and we agreed it would be a lot less stressful to make it a longer engagement.

Anyone else doing a long engagement?

That’s a good decision. It’s your only wedding and now you can have it the way you want it with the extra time and money. It’s nice to have the extra time being engaged. My engagement will only be 7 months when we get married in May and it’s going so fast. Enjoy the time!

We did a 15 month engagement, which is not very long at all, but I will say is that you will have so much more time to plan things out exactly the way you want them. Much less stress, and availability of vendors will be greater.

Honestly the 2 years flies by. We'll have had a 22 month engagement by the time we get married & I've really enjoyed the extra time to plan. There's been minimal stress because we've been able to plan at our own pace, and put aside money to cover everything so we can pay in cash instead of putting things on cards.

We are going to have a 22 month engagement. We new we wanted a summer wedding (in New England) with all our friends and family. There was no way we could save the money needed and book all of our vendors (they book two years or more in adavance). Now we have our dream venue booked and we have a savings plan. It’s all going very smoothly which is nice.

We're about 3 weeks shy of 2 years. We chose that since I figured it'd take us much longer to plan. I basically have the entire wedding planned 5 months later lol but it gives us plenty of time to save so I'm not sweating it.

I did a 1.5 year engagement, on my last 6 months now. It can be a struggle to wait, but I promise you'll be grateful. I've had people comment on how relaxed I am and there's minimal stress. I took my time and I managed to get things done ahead of time. It's worth a long engagement!

We will have had a 3 year engagement by the time I get married, and honestly it's wonderful. There's a lot less stress to plan and come up with the money, and just so much more time to have fun with each other. I wouldn't change it for the world! Take your time. You'll hopefully never be engaged again. Enjoy this point in your life.

Enjoy the longer engagement! We are doing a 20 month engagement. We really wanted a winter wedding and it would have been too soon (budget/venue wise) with only an 8 month engagement. The venue that we fell in love with is still in the process of being built. It is suppose to be completed next month. Fingers crossed!

Ours will be just shy of two years. It seems like it's pretty common to have a long engagement from what I've seen on here. I was a bit bummed when we first set our date because I just want to be his wife already lol. But it honestly flies by. It has also really helped in regards to getting the vendors we wanted and to spread the cost out instead of paying for everything in a short period of time.

By the time we get married we will have been engaged for 26 months. I can't imagine having less time.

My childhood friend has a sister who was engaged for 45 days before tying the knot. 😱 The idea of planning a traditional wedding with all the bits and bobs gives me serious anxiety.

We are doing a long engagement (Feb 2020). I really wanted to get married sooner than later but my fiance wanted to wait. I'm still in graduate school and I am now thankful we are waiting so I can focus and do as little planning as possible in one sitting. We are getting married on our 10th anniversary as well so I guess its worth the wait Smiley winking one more year won't hurt. It is less stressful and we can take the time enjoying being engaged!

We just got engaged on January 12th 2018, and we agreed to get married November 2019 to take time to plan without stressing and save. Rushing is no fun and we didn't want to spend months stressing

I got engaged in Oct 2017 and we will be getting married June 2019. We were thinking a fall wedding, but I didn't want to have less than a year to plan and save so we decided it was safer to wait extra time. The extra time will give us more time to save and hopefully make everything less stressful!
