2 language vows

Kelly, on October 24, 2019 at 9:31 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 2
Hi everyone!

my FH and I will be marrying in early 2020 as he is arriving on a visa. We are going to do a quick city hall wedding and then save for our big special day. we want the city hall wedding to be special but simple with traditional vows. I was wondering if anyone has done their vows in 2 languages or half and half? and maybe if anyone has any samples or scripts? We would love english/spanish. maybe like a few lines in english and a few in spanish.

thank you!!!

I can’t help you with a script or anything, but I can say that I’m in the midst of learning Tagalog so I can write some simple vows in it to accompany my English vows. I’m planning to make it a surprise for my FW—she knows I’m learning, but has no idea I plan to use it in my vows. It’s a really meaningful, beautiful way to honor your partner’s culture and heritage and show that you’re truly marrying every part of them when you’re in an interracial relationship!

Hey Kelly!! I think it's an absolutely beautiful idea to include both English and Spanish in your vows.

At your ceremony in city hall, is it allowed to write your own vows?
