1pm Ceremony

Nicole, on July 22, 2018 at 2:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
Wondering if you ladies/fellas have a timeline for a ceremony start time of 1pm with no “first looks?” I don’t want a long waiting time between ceremony and reception, maybe 90 minuets. We will be having a cocktail hour post ceremony about 10 minuets away.

We have a noon ceremony start time with no first look, and here’s our timeline (which, you could just push an hour back):
    8am: wake up, have breakfast
8:45am: arrive at hotel suite to get ready (ceremony is in the hotel)
9am-12pm: hair and makeup for me and bridesmaids
    12pm-12:45: ceremony
    12:45-1:45: cocktail hour
1:45-2: people head upstairs for the reception, and get situated
    2pm-6pm: reception

Oh and we’re doing our photos during cocktail hour. 1:45-2:15 will be with family and bridal party, then 2:15-2:45 will be photos with just the two of us

We're having a 1:30 reception and no first look but our cocktails don't start until 6 pm, so I'm not sure if my TL would help but I'm happy to send or share

    Anyone have advice?
Majority weddings I have been to, the ceremony doesn’t start until 3:30 or 4pm. I always felt like majority of the day is spend just waiting and anticipating everything with your girls, then finally it’s 4pm and bam! Night flies by and it’s over. Does anyone have any suggestions on a timeline, If our ceremony & reception is at the same location? Would it be weird to have a (“1pm”) ceremony, have everyone leave and go back to hotel (10 min away) abs then come back on shuttles for the 5pm cocktail hour?
    Honest opinions! Thank you!!

We're planning this: 10:00 last minute sound check (I'm singing down the aisle - a surprise!)

followed by hair and makeup, get dressed

11:30-12:30 First look and couple photos (then back to bridal suite to do any last

    minute preparation and gather myself)

    1:00 -1:30 ceremony

1:30-2:30 family and group photos during cocktail hour, and a few alone moments

2:30 go inside reception hall for special songs (I'm singing 2 songs to my Beloved

    as a surprise)

followed by the rest of the usual reception things: first dance, hors d'ouvres

buffet, toasts, cake cutting, dessert for everyone, etc. and DANCING

5:25 last dance and departure right after that

We're having lots of children and families there, so we wanted to do a daytime ceremony and not last too long into the evening. This way, people can eat lunch beforehand and dinner afterwards, so we're not having a full served meal, but about 7-8 hors d'ouvres instead. Cake and cupcakes for dessert!
