18+ Only ?!

Izzykern, on August 11, 2019 at 7:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
Hi everyone! I know I have seen similar threads, but I need opinions on guest list! So it will be a destination wedding (within the states) and we want to have a smaller guest count like 60-75! My fiancé has like hundreds of cousins so we are trying to stay away from cousins all together. We are thinking of saying something like “The bride and groom kindly request that aside from siblings, all guests be over 18. Thanks for your understanding!” ... Any thoughts ?!

That's what I'm doing for mine! The invitation will say "the bride and groom kindly request that all guests be of age 18 or older" or something along those lines

Good to hear others are doing it! Problem is we both have siblings that are kids but they will be the only ones

I think it is fine.i am all for adult only weddings. Just A warning though with a destination wedding that may make a lot of people not able to come.

Haha yeah so our thinking is that we are really only inviting immediate family, so most of them will come. We were trying to avoid having to invite ALL the cousins and aunts and uncles...

If you don’t invite people under 18, you won’t have guests under 18. Simple.

Just say say our wedding is an adult only event we are unable to accommodate guests under age 18.

    This is what mine says:

Adults only please!” “To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children.” “We hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free, and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate in style!”

I agree. I wouldn't put a note on the invitation saying nobody under 18 can come. Just invite the guests by name!

It's rude to state anywhere who is NOT invited. Just invite those people that you want included. Anyone over 18 should be getting invited individually, so just do not include under 18's on any invitations and write who is specifically invited. EX: mr john and mrs jane doe. NOT: The Doe Family

If someone RSVPS for someone who is not invited, just follow up quickly with "Hi XX, so glad to hear from you, unfortunately, the invitation was for you and X only. We hope to see you at our big day!"

You dont' have to invite everyone under 18 just because you're inviting your siblings who are under 18
