10/10/20

So we have been going back and forth with the idea of postponing our wedding. I know we still have time but my fear is if I wait to long I will not get a fall date in 2021. We didn’t go with the venue we really wanted because they didn’t have our 10-10-20 date available and now if we do postpone we would go with them. Our current venue is willing to take our deposit and apply it towards my daughter sweet 16 and our DJ is also willing to do the same because if we postpone and go with the venue we wanted from the beginning their wedding package includes the DJ and the photographer both of whom I know to be excellent. I reached out to my photographer explained what I was thinking and asked if our deposit could be applied towards a new engagement shoot so we could do new save the dates and she has refused. They will apply the deposit towards a new wedding date only. It’s not that big of a deal to me but I can’t believe she would rather keep the deposit and loose my business vs doing an engagement shoot on save the dates that would cost more then the deposit so she would be making addition money from me.

Couldn't you just use a different photo that you already have for new save the dates?

That's unfortunate but it sounds like everything else is lining up for you! It's hard to get everything to work out perfectly with these postponements

I agree with Neeva - that's definitely a bummer, but it seems like everything else has somehow all fallen into place!!

We have the same wedding date. We keep going back and forth about rescheduling. We are having 200 guest and k don’t think people will feel comfortable being around that many people. If you postpone what month were you looking to postpone for ? That’s are issue we don’t know how long we should postpone.

That seems like it's all working out pretty well! I agree with you; I'm not sure why she wouldn't just rather make more money, but oh well. The rest of it is all working so that's great!

I'd definitely be worried too about dates for next year - it seems like things are booking up very quickly!

Absolutely I could but since we didn’t get professional photos after our engagement it was a suggestion I offered to not completely loose out on the deposit I paid but she isn’t willing to do anything but rebook the wedding for another date but if I do postpone the new venue includes the photographer in the price.
