10 year old flower girl

Vicky, on April 2, 2021 at 10:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

Ok so when my kiddos were little I always told my daughter if we ever got married she would of course be the flower girl, and the boys the ring bearers, Now its happening and she is almost 10 is she too old? I had order her a almost 200$ flower girl dress from Etsy made to her size for our March wedding but we had to postpone to October due to COVID. Her dress is getting too tight. I've asked her about maybe being a Jr. Bridesmaid but she really had her heart set on being the flower girl. Has anyone had an older flower girl or bought Jr bridesmaid dresses from JJ house.

I don’t think anyone is ever too old to be a flower girl. If you YouTube search this, you will find multiple weddings who actually had the bride‘s grandmother as a flower girl! And it was absolutely precious. If your daughter wants to be the flower girl, then that is exactly what she should be Smiley smile

I don’t think 10 is too old at all! I purchased a veil from JJs house Because I refused to spend $800 on the matching veil for my dress. The overall quality is decent. You definitely get what you see in the picture in my experience. I had my heart set on wearing my jimmy choos on my wedding day, but I saw these shoes on jjs house and I bought them and I absolutely love them! This picture does them no justice! Seriously! I was so surprised by the quality!10 year old flower girl 1

There’s no age limit on being a flower girl. If it makes her happy, go for it.

10 is borderline where you could be either a flower girl or a jr bridesmaid.

Is JJs House your only option? Because they are based out of China they are hit or miss from past reviews on the forums , including that seamstresses will not touch their stuff to alter it. Azazie and Davids sell dresses.

She can wear any dress -- regardless of how the retailer labels it (e.g., "flower girl," "junior bridesmaid," whatever) -- and still be a flower girl! Honestly, I think a "highly motivated" 10yr old FG is the perfect age -- super excited, not likely to have a major breakdown in the middle of the wedding, etc. Congrats to your perfect FG! She will be an amazing flower girl. I've seen grandmas and even male friends be "flower girls" lol as long as they bring joy to your ceremony doesn't matter the age.

My daughter will be my flower girl and 10 by the time of our wedding. I ordered her dress in junior bridesmaids size from azazie so it would fit. She may need a few alterations, but it works. She is set on being my flower girl too.

My daughter wanted to be the flower girl at my wedding but she was 9 and I did feel she was too old to be a flower girl. I presented being a Jr Bridesmaid to her in a way that made her feel very grown up and then we went and tried on dresses (grown up dresses of course). She loved that she was shopping in the grown up section and not the girls section and getting to try on and choose a dress that I normally wouldn’t let her wear was super special to her.
She was very proud to be a Jr Bridesmaid versus a flower girl.

I was a flower girl at my uncle's wedding at age 8/9 (I can't remember exact age right now). 10 does not seem like too much of a difference, to me.

So long as she is happy and you are happy, I see no problem! Also, the white and plum dress looks so pretty and ethereal, like a fairy. Would look perfect with a small flower crown, if the season and style of your wedding suits that.
