1 Photographer vs 2 Photographers?

FutureMrsS, on January 8, 2018 at 10:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

Did you guys have 1 shooter or 2 at your wedding? Do you feel like it really made a difference for you to have 2 if you did? I found a photographer that I absolutely love, but it's only 1 shooter, but the photos look amazing and very high quality, but the price also reflects that lol. I just want your opinions if you thought it was necessary to have 2 Smiley smile Thanks!

We will personally be doing 2 photographers. I want ALL PHOTOS! haha. Have you asked if your photographer would hire a second photographer? The one I work with is usually only her, but she hires a 2nd if needed !

We are having two photographers just so we can be sure to catch as much as possible. They will be on opposite sides so they can get reactions and photos from just about everyone. If its in your budget go for it.

Our photographer recommended a second shooter with the size of our venue and the amount of guests. One shooter will be following us around and the other will be taking pictures of the guests.

We are having 2, I want to be able to have pics from both sides getting ready, reactions to me walking down the aisle, things that 1 just wasn’t going to be able to do.

The photographer that we hired only shoots weddings by herself when it is a very small wedding or someone is eloping. So we have two photographers.

We had one photographer, and an assistant. The only shots we “missed” was of my husband getting ready. Otherwise he captured everything and they all came out great.

Our photographer always has a second shooter, either her husband or another photographer. Depending on the size of your wedding though you may not need a second shooter and I would always go with pick a photographer that you love their work. I didn't know my photographer used a second shooter when I contacted her, I've been following her on fb for a few years and love her work and had to meet with her.

We're only having 1 photographer. We did a lot of research & found someone that was very reasonable, yet still provides the quality of work we were looking for. We sat down & talked with her & got to know her well before signing any contracts. Once we had a good relationship with her, we knew we would not need an additional shooter for the size of our wedding. We would rather spend the additional funds on a video!

Two photographers! There are so many different angles of ONE occurrence/event that are special. Like a photo of his face when he saw me walking down the aisle, and a photo of my face at the exact same moment. Also during first look, different angles during the first dance, etc.

We are having two since we hired a husband wife duo and that's just how they do it. Otherwise we would've hired just one.

I'm a photographer and I only shoot solo. I also had a solo photographer for my own wedding. A skilled photographer is able to get all the important moments and also get photos from various angles, so don't stress if a second shooter is not an option Smiley smile

We're also doing two photographers. I think one of the biggest benefits is that for a lot of the "getting ready" type photos, they plan to split up - saving us a ton of time, and not making the WHOLE day about getting pictures. It will also leave more space in the timeline for our first look photos! And echoing what others have already said...I want lots of party pics from all angles of our 160 guests! If the budget is really tight, its low hanging fruit to cut. But if you're having a semi-large wedding - I'd think it would be worth it!

We had one photographer and were 100% happy with the results. she caught every moment we had asked for and the pictures were beautiful. we didn't have a photographer for our getting ready time, though.

I've been advised by several recently-married friends to opt for two photographers – mainly (if not exclusively) for the down-the-aisle shot. My FH and I are not doing a first look, and it's important to us for the moment to be captured on both of our faces when we see each other for the first time that day, as I start walking down the aisle. It helps that the photographer we found works as a wife-and-husband team, so the cost for two photographers instead of one isn't a drastic jump. Also, as PPs have said, I'm looking forward to both sides having "getting ready" pictures and being able to knock out a lot of group shots early so we don't have to do those during our (very) short cocktail hour. Hope this helps!

It’s defintely worth asking if they can provide a 2nd shooter. It may just be something they don’t advertise. We chose a photographer with two shooters & after our consultation she showed us the differences in the angles they can get. She also explained how she stays with me while I’m getting ready & he stays with the guys so they don’t miss any special moments. I like that! But... if you love your photographer’s work & the price😕. Decisions decisions😫
