1 or 2 photographers

Okay! What is your recommendation on Photographers? Is one enough or should I insist on two?

I have one, and an assistant. She is coming for 8 hours. Same for videography. I think it's more than enough!

It really depends on the size of your wedding/wedding party and the size of the venue, and the length of time for your wedding and reception. Are you doing a first look? Do you want a lot of specific shots? A lot of candid shots?

All these things will factor in to that decision. When I was researching, I looked for a photographer that had a second shooter as part of the package. Many of them do. Then you're covered, no matter what.

If you only have one shooter, you'll have to carefully craft/schedule the day, in order to get the photos you want, as one photographer can only be in one place at a time.

I agree with Cristy. We have one photographer for 6 hours. Our wedding will only have 70 people and the ceremony/reception are in the same location.

2 will most likely come with a higher price tag. We have hired 2 photographer and 2 videographers for our special day. So exiting!

I am expecting just under 200. I was hoping for a lot less but oh well. I just wasn't sure if one would be able to cover everything but it seems like that is pretty normal. I appreciate your feedback.

Our photographer had a second shooter and I was so glad. We were able to get both of our reactions for a lot of the big moments.

Two. That way the one taking the “formal” shots gets them and the the other can be taking the candids of family/friends....

We have two photographers, our photographer literally will not shoot a wedding alone, she always brings a second shooter! She said she feels like she can't guarantee that she'll fully capture the important moments if she's alone. If Great Aunt Sally holds up her iPad in front of the photographer to take her own picture during your first kiss, your photographer would completely miss that moment, so it's very reassuring to know that we'll have someone standing at another angle in case something like that happens!

To me though it honestly depends what the price difference is. Like I said, our photographer doesn't even offer the option of 1 shooter so I had nothing to compare it to, but we are paying $2000 total for both photographers, for 5 hours.

TWO!!! Luckily, our photographer brought an assistant and I am forever grateful. They can divide & conquer (one takes decor shots, the other first look). Plus, key moments are very short and two photographers can capture different views (your aisle walk vs. your partner's reaction and your first kiss vs. parents' reaction).

I was dead set on having a second shooter but then my photographer said to me, why would you want someone shooting at your wedding who isn’t even good enough to have their own business? And so I just have her lol. I trust her and she is a very reputable photographer in the area

I am having a wedding of 100 people and hopefully no more than that 😂. We have two photographers (they are both non professionals but do amazing work and I have worked with them and know them) I wanted two because one person may capture something that the other doesn’t. Also if everyone is getting ready at the same time I wanted pictures of the guys and all the girls and didn’t want to miss anything!!!

We are having 2 to make sure we don’t miss any major moments. For example, during our first look, having 2 photographers will capture both of our reactions, you won’t get that with just one photographer. Same with when I walk down the isle. I want to capture reactions on both ends. Also, while getting ready, one photographer can’t be in your bridal suite and the grooms suite at the same time. So that was important to me. It keeps them from running around so much and risk missing anything. It wasn’t that much more expensive to add on the extra photographer and, to me, it is well worth the expense. We also have 2 videographers for similar reasons.

I think it depends on what you want captured and if 1 photographer and get that for you. I have one for 6 hours but I have a uncle who loves to take photos so he will be around with his camera as well.

One is enough, but I recommend 2 if your budget allows. We got 2 because the additional shooter was only an extra $300 and we feel it will be easier. We are doing a first look and have 250 guests so we want to be sure we get as many captured as possible
