Where to get hotel room blocks?

Hi! Our wedding is in Miami, we live in Davie, and my parents live in Coral Springs. Where should we book hotel blocks? I'm thinking it would be more convenient for guests to be closer to the wedding...

Ok, I'm totally clueless about when it comes to doing room blocks for out of town guests?? Will I need to pay to reserve rooms if the hotel allows? How can/do I go about this. I need help. Thanks!
