Is it appropriate to schedule your hair and make up trial run the same day you are attending a family members (not black tie) wedding? Feeling conflicted about a guest doing this.

I just saw an article about brides using cotton candy bouquets. I am in love with the idea- but wondering how to execute the whole thing. When do you make the cotton candy? Will it melt? I need some pros and cons of this uniquely sweet idea.
