We have an $8,000 budget. Decent venues are so expensive! Doing it ourselves is almost even more expensive! Idk where to start! Idk if bridesmaids are suppose to pay for their own stuff!? Idk anything! Any advice would help!

What's the first step in planning? What have you noticed worked out for your planning? I feel like the date and venue is step one! But finding an affordable venue that doesn't max out our budget has been difficult.
