Checking out a potential venue tomorrow. What are some good questions to ask?

Long lonnnng story short: I never expected to have any help with wedding finances, and I was just gifted a package at a beautiful hall that includes catering, the DJ, linens, lights, and I'm forgetting some stuff, but the package for this place costs...

So many of you seem to be very knowledgeable. Am I the only bride with pretty much no experience attending weddings?

What's the most unusual/creative/strangest venue you've seen used for a wedding? What were the best and/or worst things about it?
