I'm originally from Texas. That's where all of my friends are. My husband has already asked his groomsmen (3). And I asked my bridesmaids (3) one can not make it. Would it look weird if I don't have a third but he does?

My bp all live states away. I was thinking of picking the color and letting them pick their own dresses, but I'm struggling with the idea of their dresses being a surprise to me. Is anyone else doing this? Advice?
