They say good things come to those who wait. In reality its more like good things come to those who aren't looking. I had just separated from my ex, and was excited to be me again, after several years of a relationship that was borderline menatlly abusive. I had thought hard about it and had decided that I wanted to be single, find myself, and focus on happiness for just me and my children. That lasted about two months and I found myself very lonely. Still determined that I didn't need to date, I turned to the internet to find friends. I still needed someone to talk to. Turns out that is way harder than it sounds as the internet is really just full of everyone who wants to hookup and occasionally find love- nothing I was interested in. Eventually, I did come across a few people who understood and are still my friends today. One such friend is now my future husband. We are a great balance, he reminds me to take it easy and have fun and I push him to achieve great things.
