We got engaged on a rainy day at the Garfield Park Conservatory and my fiancé had a couple friends secretly take pictures. I made my fiancé eat a spicy pepper from the garden and he used the pepper as an excuse to get “water” out of his bag, but he actually got the ring out. Then he really needed water because it was very spicy! It was perfect, sweet and a little silly. I loved it! The ring is my great grandmother’s setting that was missing a center stone. The center stone passed was down through John’s family. It’s a beautiful combination of our two families.
