Does your venue allow you to have an external caterer or do you have to use one of their contract caters or their in house catering? How has this effected pricing?

Do you pre-taste the food that is going to be catered at the wedding? Some venues have strictly their own vendors, or in house catering, and some require you to get an external vendors. What do you all plan on doing?
