I met my fiance about 5 years ago at a Halloween party. He was a lumberjack and I was a chef, I didn't think much about it as we played beer pong together (undefeated) and I made shots for everyone. We didn't keep in touch after that party because we both had significant others at the time, and we were just friendly with each other. About 2 years after that, I was single scrolling through OkCupid and I found a very handsome bearded man. He agreed to go on a date with me. (We didn't realize we knew each other yet). On our first date, he brought everything I said I liked on my profile; sushi, horror movies, wine, romantic movies, and whiskey. (I know realize that I'm not a huge fan of whiskey anymore). Since I met him on a dating app, I had no idea if he wanted a serious relationship or not. So on April 1st, I asked him to be my boyfriend. This way if he said "no" I could play it off as an april fools day joke. We got engaged on June 30th, 2019. He woke me up at 4 am (which I was not too happy about) and told me we were going somewhere far and we had a long way to drive. Well, instead we went on a sunrise hot air balloon ride. As the sun rose on the horizon, he got down on one knee (which was difficult in that tiny basket) and asked me to be his wife.
