I’ve attended several weddings that used WNC Weddings and Events as their planner. These weddings always flowed well, people were relaxed, and I could tell everything was taken care of. Recently, WNC Weddings provided the Day of Coordination for my nieces wedding in Wilmington, NC (yes they travel) and everything went beautifully! I highly recommend. -

I can’t express enough how incredible Allison is—she is truly the best wedding planner you could ever hope for! From the moment we hired her, she went above and beyond in every aspect of the planning process. Her recommendations for local vendors were spot on, and her advice was invaluable.
Our wedding weekend happened to coincide with Hurricane Helene, and despite the chaos of blocked roads, no cell service, and spotty power, Allison remained our rock. She navigated through the storm with grace and determination, ensuring that our special day went off without a hitch despite the multiple challenges we faced.
Thanks to her dedication and expertise, our dream wedding became a reality, even amidst such challenging circumstances. I wholeheartedly recommend Allison to anyone looking for a wedding planner. You simply couldn’t choose better! -

Allison and her team were absolutely wonderful to work with. She is extremely responsive and takes the time to provide detailed responses addressing any and everything you need to know. If Allison is on it, there will be no problems and no worries; you can show up and have the best day of your life while she manages everything and ensures it all runs smoothly. She knows ALL of the vendors in the Cashiers area which was wonderful as they were comfortable and familiar with working together. Even more of a reason to not have to worry! She is worth every penny and so reasonably priced. An absolute MUST! -

She was able to give me a lengthy list of recommended vendors and did a great job coordinating with those we booked. On the day of my wedding I did not have to worry about anything. The best wedding decision you can make!
Allison was everything we could hope for and absolutely instrumental in what was a dream wedding! The week prior to the wedding, the weather forecast was for the remnants of hurricane Ian to come through the area on the wedding day, with lots of rain and potentially high winds. Allison worked with us and the venue to develop multiple contingency plans and alternate layouts for the ceremony, dinner and party. Ultimately the storm turned, and the day before the wedding we pivoted back to the outdoor ceremony that was originally planned and the whole wedding was perfect! Allison returned all texts, emails and calls promptly, and inspired confidence with all parties and vendors involved. She is a total pro and a complete pleasure to work with. Hiring her was the best wedding decision we made! -

Allison is everything you want in a wedding planner. Wedding day is extremely busy with people pulling you in different directions and Allison was with us the whole time - making sure we stayed on track with our timeline. Allison Taylor is a professional who has the contacts to get things sorted and straightened out. Her calm demeanor and ability to get things done kept us from losing our minds as we managed to host a formal wedding ceremony and a sit-down-dinner/dance-the-night-away reception on our own property. Doing it at home is not easy, but with Allison's oversight we created an amazing event for the bride and groom, ourselves, and all of our guests. Pandemic weddings are a difficult thing to plan and execute. My wife and I had a small ceremony in 2020, and postponed the celebration to 2021. As the date grew closer, we found it harder and harder to stay motivated, on track, and remain optimistic. We heard through a friend that she procured Allison’s services to plan her wedding, and so we reached out to book a video chat. From the very first few minutes we felt a connection with Allison. She put us at ease, she was knowledgeable and forthright, and she was kind and encouraging… exactly what we needed. We were already shopping around, so we knew what other planners and coordinators in the area could offer. Some felt like they would plan everything, but we felt like we'd show up to a cookie cutter wedding that wasn't unique to us . Allison helped us pick vendors and suggested options for things we hadn’t even considered; her experience was invaluable. She was there to meet with our vendors in person, she kept in touch with everyone, and her coordination of our day of was perfect. Our day would not have been as perfect and special as it was without her, and so thank you Allison, again, and to anyone reading this: I highly recommend you book Allison for your next event. -

Allison was so great to work with. She was the event coordinator to my now sister-in-law's wedding years ago so she was a no-brainer for our pick. She helped us stay on track during the planning process and she made sure our day went smoothly. Allison is truly exceptional. Her timeliness, professionalism, and guidance are invaluable, especially during an unprecedented time of planning a wedding. She was able to provide answers during every stage of our wedding planning process and made us aware of each and every change in restrictions for even having a gathering. Despite a pandemic, she made our day flow seamlessly and helped us reimagine our nearly 300 person wedding to an intimate ceremony for 35, which was perfect. Most importantly, she helped guide us from the beginning stages of planning and was always able to offer support and solutions throughout the process. Allison ensured that every person that was part of our day, whether a bridal party member or vendor was aware of where they needed to be but also that they enjoyed their day!
I would recommend Allison one thousand times over and hope that one day soon we can pass one another on a hiking trail in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! -

I can't imagine how stressful planning my daughter's wedding during COVID 19 would have been if I had not chosen to work with Allison. She kept us on task with her reminders and was always informative with COVID 19 changes. She knew the state requirements and laws concerning the number of people we could have at our wedding before the media was informed. She was amazing during the planning and replanning after COVID 19 hit!
The day of the wedding she was in charge and handled everything with grace, kindness and such professionalism.

I am SO grateful that we chose WNCWeddings and Events (Allison) as our wedding planner! Allison is very organized, professional, knowledgable, and personable. I loved the way that she worked with us and all of our vendors. Allison was such a huge help during our wedding planning! The week after I got engaged in March 2019 I called her because I had no idea how to plan an out of town wedding! She helped me every step of the way and was always the best at communicating with me! Then, when COVID hit, she was able to help me turn a 150 person inside reception to an intimate outside ceremony with just bridal party and family. All of the stress of planning a wedding, then replanning a wedding, was made so much easier by hiring WNC Wedding and Events!!!! -

We met Allison while she was setting up a wedding at the venue we ended up booking with... it was such an easy decision and she was so friendly from the very start. Her step-by-step vendor referrals and email check-ins were so helpful. Allison offered such wonderful guidance during the planning process that we never felt overwhelmed by the details. It was so refreshing to work with someone who was so responsive and great at communicating. Not only would Allison respond to my emails in an extremely timely fashion but she would also stay on top of any unanswered vendor responses. By the time we got to the wedding weekend Allison had our full trust and we was able to let go and enjoy our day to the fullest. Allison took care of everything and it could not have been smoother. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALLISON to anyone looking wedding planning and/or coordination!!

I was hesitant to hire a wedding planner to help with our wedding, because I thought I could just do it all myself since we had a small number of guests, but I am SO GLAD that I decided to hire Allison Taylor from WNC Weddings & Events! She helped with all of the things that there was no way I could have done without totally stressing out either myself or a friend/family member, such as contacting all of the vendors leading up to the wedding to make sure everyone is aware of the schedule/timeline and confirm what they’re supposed to be doing, and solving problems for us, like vendors disappearing from contact and a few other unexpected things! This made everything run smoothly and perfectly the day of the wedding so that there was ZERO stress for anyone involved. She also ensured that everything was done EXACTLY how we had envisioned on our wedding day, and even added some touches that I didn’t think of or forgot about to make everything look AMAZING! She helped me with vendor recommendations, making decisions, and was generally just so nice and fun to work with and made me feel relaxed and reassured. Where to even start?! Allison was wonderful from the beginning. She had worked our venue before, and we immediately felt taken care of. From the day we hired her, she gave us a timeline and a list of recommended vendors--which is amazing, especially when planning from out of town! She was great at anticipating things that I had not considered at all. She was SO RESPONSIVE via e-mail!! I usually got an e-mail response the same day or the next day. She also was great at communicating with our other vendors in a professional, but effective manner. I felt like she was our voice, which was great as I was an anxious planner and didn't want to ever come off as a bridezilla to our vendors. On our wedding day, she was such an incredible support. She ensured that everything went smoothly from start to finish, but she was just quietly in the background getting it all done. The wedding day was such a whirlwind that having someone there simply to coordinate allowed for me to relax, as well as our mothers the day of. She also got every detail perfectly-she did a lot of set up prior to the wedding. My mother was hesitant to hire a planner, and after experiencing Allison, she cannot recommend it enough!! I could talk all day, BUT HIRE HER! -

I am NOT the type of person who has been planning my wedding since early childhood and after attempting to start, I was quickly overwhelmed and realized I needed professional help. After polling my friends here in Brevard, reading reviews, and having an initial over-the-phone consult with Allison, I realized she was the clear choice to plan my wedding!
I told Allison from the get-go I didn't care about the small details of my wedding and I wanted to feel like a guest myself. Somehow she was able to glean enough information from me to truly create the wedding of my dreams- no small feat! Her vendor recommendations were good, and she was very responsive to my late-night "OMG DID WE FORGET THIS?!" emails. Allison was very organized and kept all of the vendors on the same page (I have heard a lot of people's wedding horror stories about vendors not being on the same page, showing up at different times, etc).
Though Allison was already booked for the weekend of my wedding, we worked with Jennifer, who kept things running smoothly and in an organized fashion.
The day of my wedding, I was able to relax, focus on my loved ones, and actually enjoy myself because I trusted WNC Weddings & Events to handle everything. I will be recommending WNC W&E to all of my engaged friends! -

They were super sweet and organized, I simply filled out a list of my vendors and they did the rest. Melissa Sent on 11/13/2018Absolute Necessity for Out-of-Towners with caveats
As a bride who chose to have a domestic "destination" wedding, I highly
recommend employing a wedding coordinator and/or planner. Allison Taylor is
the one recommended by most venues in the area, and she did a fantastic job
as a wedding coordinator. Even when I pressed her to do more wedding
planner-type tasks, she was extremely accommodating. She took very good
care of my husband and I the day of, which was invaluable. We could not
have done it without her. For this, 10/10. However, there were a few
aspects that just didn't sit right with me and might be detrimental for
brides in different circumstances. My personality is very
non-confrontational and, in general, I choose the path of least resistance,
so Allison and I worked well together overall. She has a lot of expertise
that I relied on heavily. With vendors, for instance, Allison has a ton of
recommendations for quality vendors she has worked with before. Because
things happened so quickly, I didn't fully research into all the vendors,
or alternative vendors, like I should have. She had two recommendations for
rental vendors, and she strongly advised we go with the more expensive one
because she preferred them over the other major rental company for
reliability reasons. I had not had any issues with the more affordable
rental company I had selected, but Allison persuaded me to use the more
expensive one...which turned out to be thousands more expensive. In
retrospect, I should have stood my ground and used the more affordable
option. Another aspect that keeps plaguing me: transportation. While
Allison did a good job coordinating other vendors' arrivals, logistics,
etc., one of our transportation companies was an hour late to the wedding
(the groom and mother-of-the-bride onboard) because they got lost to one of
the most iconic wedding venues in the area. Allison had NOT recommended
this company, and their ineptitude was was no fault of hers - I confirmed
locations and times the night before - but I still feel like this was an
area that fell through the cracks and had unfortunate implications.
Thankfully, I had a strong feeling that the wedding would not start on
time. Allison runs an extremely tight ship with barely any wiggle room, so
just be advised. Although the formal timeline had guests arriving at the
reception as early as 2:30 p.m., I just knew it would be no earlier than 3
p.m. We had the chapel reserved from 1 - 3 p.m., and I had anticipated that
the ceremony (which I had starting at 1:30) would not conclude before 2:30,
still allowing plenty of time for bride and groom portraits to happen
before we had to be out by 3 p.m. Once we knew the vans were running late,
Allison came to me and asked if there was anything in the ceremony I could
cut out. I said that it was already parsed down to the bare minimum, and
not to worry, that I had allowed an hour block for a 20 min ceremony. My
family and I are strong Christians and this was the most meaningful part of
the day...I did not care if the reception started late. Despite this,
somehow the entire spoken ceremony only took 10 minutes. I was wondering
how we had so much time for pictures afterwards despite the vans'
tardiness. Thinking back, the entire wedding and reception felt a little
rushed. Overall, I cannot cry over spilt milk, and I know God works all
things for good. It was a beautiful day that I will cherish forever. My
closing advice: destinations are much more expensive than getting married
locally, so deliberate very carefully if the destination is worth the cost.
If you choose WNC as the destination for your wedding, you will NEED a
coordinator, and Allison Taylor is a top coordinator for the area. Allison
is very assertive, which is what you want for a wedding coordinator, but
you must be equally assertive with what you value with your wedding and
clearly communicate your expectations.
