Fun, Organized, and Thoughtful

We do not know how we would have made our wedding happen without Cinda! She made the planning process incredible from start to finish. Since our big day, we have heard from so many guests about how ours was one of the best planned events they have ever attended, with lots of thoughtful touches, and so much fun! Cinda is the reason for our guests’ wonderful experience, we had such a magical day. We would recommend her to anyone!!!

Cinda is the absolute best at her job.

We've told Cinda this many times in the 2 years she helped us through 2020 and rescheduling our wedding to 2021: she is truly the best. From day one, Cinda was a true partner, offering advice, wisdom, and really taking the time to talk to us and understand what we as a couple wanted our day to look like. Cinda also brought grace and calmness to her job throughout the entire time we worked together. The weekend of, she put everyone at ease immediately with her skill, confidence, and gentleness. I would (and will!) recommend Cinda to everyone I can.

Cinda made our day possible! Couldn't have done it without her.

Cinda made our wedding day... seriously. We contracted with Cinda for day-of services but she went above and beyond in the months leading up to our wedding, offering advice on vendors and tips on what we should be thinking through. In the weeks leading up to the big day, she became even more involved, creating a foolproof timeline and coordinating with our vendors. Cinda began to shine even more on the day of our rehearsal. She corralled our family and helped us practice for the big day. It truly would have been chaos without her (we had four three-year old wedding attendants). THEN! On the wedding day, Cinda just made everything feel easy for us so that we could really focus on enjoying the day and our guests. She made sure our vendors had everything they needed, kept the day on schedule, dealt with little snafus while always keeping on a big, big smile. Cinda just has the best demeanor for this job; although she is always gentle and kind, she also keeps things on track and directs people when needed. We truly can't imagine our wedding without Cinda. this is a bit of a unique review as I didn't end up using White Birch as my planner... they turned out to be outside of my budget (i just have a really small budget) but i feel compelled to leave a review because Cinda took the time to chat with me for almost an hour and give me advice around vendors i was considering, things to think about and so much more. she didn't have to do this as we determined pretty early on that it wasn't going to be a fit for my budget but she clearly knows what she's talking about and I would recommend folks to give her a shout if you're considering her services!!!

I was one of those brides who thought I could do it all myself ... thank goodness I came to my senses and realized that wasn't true! While a wedding planner is definitely an extra expense, it is worth every penny. You spend so much money on everything else, this is a very small amount to actually get to enjoy the day you have planned for! Cinda was amazing throughout the whole process. She knows everything about Charlottesville, which was a huge plus planning from out of town. When I would tell other vendors that I was using her they would all say "Oh good --- your wedding is going to go so smooth!!" She is very responsive, especially right before the wedding when you need it the most. But mostly she is calm and genuinely kind - which is exactly what you need on your wedding day.
When I walked into my venue on my wedding day, I was amazed at the work she and her assistant had done. It was basically like walking into my pinterest page (in the best way possible). The care they took into setting up every detail was amazing. If anything went wrong, I never knew it. Because of her, we spent the day relaxing with our parents and bridal party, dancing to every song and really enjoying our guests ... rather than setting up escort cards, lighting candles and trying to figure out when to do the toasts! Everyone tells you that your wedding flies by ... and it does, but with Cinda - you get to enjoy those precious moments just a little bit more. I highly recommend her.

Cinda is the absolute best! She helped us plan our wedding over the course of a year, and we truly feel like we have made a lifelong friend! Not only is she a knowledgeable event planner, but she also knows the Charlottesville market inside and out, so she can give you tips on vendors and usually has a working relationship with the Charlottesville-area vendors you end up choosing. We found this to be extremely important as we are not from Charlottesville. Cinda is also very crafty and is excellent at sewing - she made beautiful table runners for our Rehearsal Dinner from scratch! Completely and wholeheartedly recommend White Birch Events for your wedding!

Cinda was the day-of coordinator for our wedding on Labor Day weekend 2014. From the very beginning, Cinda was genuinely invested in making our wedding special. She brought up several details that we had not considered and that brought a unique touch to the wedding and reception. She was organized and this made for everything to be effortless and perfectly seamless. Because of her work, we were able to focus on getting married and not all of the endless details that we had spent months planning.

As our event planner, Cinda was indispensable. She put out fires for us figuratively and literally. Not only did she help my parents plan a surprise fireworks display for our wedding day, she also handled the small fire that started after the fireworks were over and we were busy dancing the night away. During wedding planning, Cinda was there every step of the way to provide guidance and support when we needed it. Her advice was always practical and never pushy. Her professional yet light-hearted demeanor put my mom, husband and me at ease and made our wedding day flawless.

We had the pleasure of working with Cinda Hoege and White Birch Events to make my son's rehearsal dinner at Montalto an exceptional evening that none of our guests will soon forget. Cinda started helping me about four months before that magical night. She was so informative, knowing what's available in Charlottesville and helping us to stay on track with our budget. She has a wonderful personality and was always available to answer any questions we might have. She helped me with the rental selections and alternate plans for the weather to put our minds at ease. Cinda is so organized and had the whole night planned down to the minute. She orchestrated the plan for all the vendors getting up to Montalto and setting up the venue which is no easy task. Two days before the event she met us at Michael's to pick up frames, votives and extra vases for the cocktail tables. She also put together a wonderful framed seating assignment chart for us. She spent all day, overseeing the set-up, flowers, caterers, photographers etc for our 6 PM start time and finally left 2 hours after our guests and after all had been cleaned up. Cinda also worked with the AV person to set up a slide show and video that we were playing that night before the toasts. The entire evening ran so smoothly and my husband and I could totally relax and enjoy the party. Cinda was amazing and we could not have done the party without her. She became a good friend of ours as well and we even found that she follows and supports the UVA baseball team which my son had played on many years ago. We highly recommend Cinda and White Birch Events to organize and help with your wedding, rehearsal dinner or any other important event.

White Birch Events and Cinda were absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding. We heard of her through a mutual source and after speaking over the phone, we decided to go with Cinda without having formally met and I couldn't be happier with that gut decision. We were planning a wedding in Charlottesville VA while I was in residency in Chicago and my now husband was in law school in D.C. and I don't think it would have been possible without Cinda's help. I did a decent amount of the planning on my own but Cinda was a great resource and a huge help considering the distance in planning. She was flexible, easy to get a hold of, and able to work off of pictures I sent her with ideas- all of which were vital for our circumstances and weddings. Most importantly, she was easy to work with, worked hard to make our vision come to life, and made the process much more manageable in order for my husband and I to be able to have the wedding for ourselves and our guests that we were hoping.

As the wedding got closer, Cinda was great for the preparations, organization, timelines and made sure for us that every "I" was dotted and "T" was crossed- including many things that I hadn't thought of. And that goes for the day of our wedding as well. Hiccups happened and things were somewhat hectic, but I only learned about that afterwards. Our wedding was absolutely perfect as Cinda and other staff made sure it was so to the best of her ability which took the task off of myself and our family. Because of this my husband, family and I were able to just take in the day and enjoy ourselves! It was perfect.

As we reflected back on our wedding, we are so appreciative of everything that you did to make it special for us! We had a wonderful time and have heard raves from our friends and family. From making my inspirations come to life in the event design, to making sure all details were taken care of -- you did it all. The wedding was beautiful and we appreciate your ideas and guidance in making the decor reflect our shabby chic aesthetic. Additionally, we were able to relax and enjoy the day because we 100% trusted that you were on top of all the details for the day to run smoothly.

Most importantly, thank you for all the time, effort and love you put into the event -- it was wonderful to work with someone who listened to our ideas, provided an expert perspective and was a pleasure to deal with the whole time. It was like working with a friend!

Cinda and I were colleagues in the Office of Special Events at Monticello, where I noted her sophisticated taste, attention to detail and unparalleled work ethic almost immediately. I could always count on Cinda to plan and execute any event to a tee, and she helped me out of a few planner mishaps of my own making on more than one occasion!

I was thrilled when Cinda told me that she would be leaving Monticello to launch her own event panning company. My fiancé Brennan and I had become newly engaged and I couldn't imagine more perfect timing. We immediately asked Cinda if she would be willing to take us on as her first clients, and she graciously agreed.

Planning the wedding of an event planner could have been a sticky situation, but Cinda was amazing throughout the entire planning process. Brennan and I both felt that she went above and beyond to figure out exactly what we wanted, and then made sure to stick to our vision each step of the way.

Even when the unexpected attempted to thwart our big day dreams (including a heat wave of 112 degrees and a hospitalized bridesmaid), Cinda's innovation and grace under pressure easily resolved each problem.

I personally and professionally recommend Cinda and White Birch Events to every bride I meet!

Cinda made wedding planning a breeze! She gave me a list of awesome vendor recommendations that would help match my budget and helped me hash through were to allocate dollars and where to save. Her advice in my rental meeting was invaluable - she knew the wedding venue well and helped me think through every table, linen, etc. Things that I would never have thought of without her help. She made the actual wedding day seamless and it was so nice to relax, soak in the day and know the Cinda had everything under control. She handled little mix ups like the wind blowing away all of my place cards and made sure it didn't effect the evening and everyone knew where their place was with no distruption. She had special touches and made sure that my groom and I had a few minutes alone to breathe before heading to the cocktail hour. As fast as your wedding day flies by, Cinda made sure that I was truly able to enjoy each moment. After the wedding she followed up to make sure everything went smoothly and even had her husband personally deliver items to our home in Richmond that I had accidentally left behind. Would absolutely use Cinda and White Birch Events for another party to plan!
