The BEST wedding planner out there!!
Sarah has become more than just my wedding planner, she has become a dear friend and part of our family, considering she planned both mine and my sister's weddings! There are not enough words to describe how AWESOME she is. She literally gave us the wedding of our dreams, and I couldn't have asked for a better planner, friend and partner in crime! She is professional, easy to work with, reliable, and a wedding ROCK STAR in every way possible. She is based in the Paso Robles area and I was getting married in Lake Arrowhead (nowhere near there) and instead of shying away, she said HECK YES and took charge to plan a wedding in an unfamiliar area to her. She quickly made connections with vendors out there and has become the new "Lake Arrowhead Wedding Planner." Sarah takes charge when she needs to, she lets her bride and groom speak their minds and truths, and she runs that wedding so smoothly from start to finish. She's on top of every little detail and helps the bride and groom stay on top of their responsibilities. Oh and did I mention that there was a BEAR at the ceremony site which delayed our wedding, and Sarah took care of it so calmly and made sure to wait until telling me until AFTER the wedding. I could go on and on! Trust me when I say, hire Sarah to plan your wedding and you won't have to worry about a thing! -

We LOVE Sarah Angelique and recommend her whole-heartedly!
Sarah expertly planned and coordinated my oldest daughter's wedding two years ago at Zaca Creek Ranch in Buellton and even though my younger daughter's wedding was in Southern California (Lake Arrowhead) we couldn't imagine working with another wedding planner.
Sarah did such a FANTASTIC job on my daughter's wedding last Saturday! Even though she didn't know the area, or the vendors, she won them over quickly and formed a team which operated like a well-oiled machine -- it was like they had worked together many times before and that's thanks to Sarah! In fact a few of the vendors are trying to talk Sarah into doing more weddings with them in Lake Arrowhead. They've never seen such excellent work and were blown away by her expertise and work ethic (as are we!).
Thanks to Sarah my daughter had the wedding of her dreams and we couldn't be happier! Sarah goes above and beyond the usual duties of a planner and works tirelessly to make sure everyone is happy, all the details are handled, challenges are calmly solved (we had a bear at our wedding!!) and everyone is happy. And what makes it even better - she's super fun to work with!! We had many laughs and fun times with Sarah!
Thanks to Sarah Angelique both my daughters had the weddings of their dreams and we have a friend for life. We love you Sarah!! -

Sarah Angelique is an expert wedding planner!
Sarah Angelique is true a master at wedding planning! Initially we weren’t sure if we would hire a wedding planner. Take our advice and do it -- You'll be so glad you did. Weddings by Sarah Angelique is worth every penny!
Sarah expertly planned our wedding and it far exceeded our expectations. Throughout the planning process she so thoughtful, knowledgeable and always had our best interest at heart. From start to finish, Sarah thought of every detail for our big day. She helped execute on our vision and truly brought it to life. Sarah was was always available to talk via phone or email and in the midst of our wedding planning, she became a close friend.
On our wedding day, we were relaxed and got to enjoy every moment because we knew Sarah had it handled. We've been to several other weddings this year and have realized the value of having someone like Sarah. Someone who’s thought of everything, truly understands wedding traditions, style and etiquette, and who's there for you in case anything were to happen.
We had the best day of our life thanks to Sarah and her expertise in planning the perfect wedding. We cannot recommend her highly enough! -

Amazing and on the ball
Sarah Angelique is without a doubt one of the most talented and useful wedding planners on the central coast. She is truly invested in her clients from day one and incredibly friendly and down to earth. She always has a laugh and a big smile and never seems to stress out even in the middle of wedding day planning! She is organized to a fault, on top of her events, and amazing to work with. Do you want your wedding day to flow seamlessly! HIRE HER. I have worked with her on countless occasions and always refer my couples to her- she will make your wedding everything you need it to be!!!

Amazing & Unforgettable
Sarah made our elopement magical. She went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect. We loved Halter Ranch, so she ensured it was available for us to be married at. We wanted something simple, but memorable. She did exactly that from the flowers, the mini cakes, to the photographer, to the ceremony.
I would definitely recommend Sarah, she is wonderful to talk to and listens to you, as well as, adds great suggestions if you are left with an empty mind for wedding ideas, she has you covered. When in doubt, go with Sarah. -

Sarah Angelique is the absolute best wedding planner! She gave me the wedding of my dreams and made all my dreams come true! She understood my vision and really made it come to life. Wonderful experience working with Sarah
I am very grateful for Sarah Angelique for handling our wedding in Paso Robles. From the moment we met Sarah, there was no doubt in our mind that our wedding will come together beautifully. I got Sarah for the "month of" coordination, as i thought the small wedding we had planned wouldn't require a lot of work. Of course, i was wrong! No matter how small the wedding is, the amount of work is just the same! Sarah graciously kept in communication the entire time (not just the month of!) and made sure things are going according to plan. And on the day of, of course she thought of all the beautiful details that i didn't even think of! She really gets to know the couple she is working with, and makes sure that the day of the wedding goes on without a hitch.
Sarah, we can not thank you enough for our beautiful day!! We are hoping to see you next time we are in Paso, and grab a cocktail! :) -

The Perfect Planner for us!
We had Sarah planour family fiesta after eloping out of the country. It truly was the perfect day of celebration, joy and love. Sarah thought of every detail from just the right professionals to make our day seamless down to the timing. Because we had Sarah we got to enjoy our guests to the maximum and not worry about the details. If you’re on the fence about a planner, ‘let go and let Sarah!’ She’s worth every penny!!!! -

Sarah Makes Dreams Come True
I can definitively say that my wedding would not have happened without the talent, patience and network of Sarah Angelique.
I needed someone to help me pull off my dream wedding. But we had a lot of specific requests that needed to happen, and we lived out of town. I needed someone who understood the vibe we wanted to create - that we wanted it to be fun, romantic, relaxed, and fun but across several different locations with specific timing. I talked to many people before my brilliant photographer recommended Sarah Angelique - once I met her, there was no turning back!
From Day 1, Sarah was on the ball. She helped me find vendors. She contacted the ones I had already booked. She prepared the timeline. She noted all the picky asks for the event (grand entrances, surprising my husband with a groom's cake, setting up the various bar booze, transitioning guests from various locations in the venue) and ensured all the necessary vendors/venue folks were involved. She ran the rehearsal. She kept us on track. And she really cared about us as people and making sure we were happy.
She also was AVAILABLE. Even though she has many clients, she never made me feel like a number. She always answered my calls and texts and emails, and handled all my needs promptly. I never had to follow-up with her and beg for help. She even proactively found ways to reduce costs!! Since we were planning a destination wedding, we needed someone local who knew the area and could handle the random issues that popped up, and she nailed it. Last minute need for margarita machines? She found a vendor, booked it, coordinated deliveries, and made it so seamless. (Everyone LOVED those frozen drinks… so clutch).
I had high expectations for wedding weekend – and she exceeded it. When a last minute medical issue prevented my father from attending, Sarah went out of her way to help my mom and make sure she was okay until I arrived. When the weather wound up being 100*, she helped assemble our vendor team - IN LESS THAN AN HOUR – to move cocktail hour so guests wouldn’t burn in the scorching sun. She guarded our sweetheart table so we could eat dinner undisturbed. When I wanted certain pictures, she made sure the areas were cleared to efficiently get our pics done. They’re pretty epic.
Ladies, I know it's tempting to just find a "day-of/month-of" person. But I had no idea how much I needed a full planner. Even though I wanted to book everything myself. Sarah kept me in line, kept me on budget, and ensured that I was considering ALL my options. The amount of time, money, and energy she saved me was beyond worth it. To not be stressed on my wedding day? For problems to be proactively solved and never know about it? To be able to eat my full meal and all desserts? PRICELESS.
TRUST IN SARAH. I can't recommend her more highly – she was worth every penny. She really is an angel and a miracle worker! -

There are not enough words to say how amazing Sarah is! We live in Houston, and had no idea what vendors to use or what all had to be done. Every vendor she recommended was the BEST, and they all LOVE her! They worked amazing together along with Croad Vineyard. Such a peace knowing everything was being taken care of and done right! She is by far the BEST, as a person and a Wedding Planner. My MIL wanted to take her home with her!!
You can not go wrong with Sarah, in fact I don't know how I would have done it with out her. :)

I cannot say enough good things about Sarah! Our day would not have been the same without her. When she says, "let go and let Sarah" - she means it! She did two venue checks for us - once with us and once with the DJ and caterer. She also worked out our timeline, coordinated with our vendors, and made our list for family photos (after a full survey of family dynamics). Down to the little details, she was there. She gave me tips on things like quantity of rentals, water, etc. She even contacted our ice vendor and placed the order! As with all weddings, there were unplanned twists and turns but Sarah handled it all on the day-of. We had vendors show up late, guests to bus up/down the hill, and speeches nearly ran through our sunset photos. But, did my husband and I have to deal with any of that? Nope! She absolutely killed it. She brought me a plate of appetizers between photos, a shawl when the sun went down, and even danced with us at the end of the night! Need I say more? I will always recommend Sarah Angelique to any bride-to-be that I meet! -

my husband and I are very greatful we had Sara to help us with our elopement. The biggest thing is her attention to detail. Sarah was absolutely the best! We hired her almost a year in advance, and she made the entire process so easy and non stressful. Because the wedding was a destination, she set up vendors for us to get things done in two weekend visits. All Vendors that Sarah worked with were also very professional and top notch, what a team! On the day of the event, everything went down perfectly..and if it didn't, I never knew about it. She and her team were all over the details and extremely professional. I highly recommend Sarah, without a doubt. If I had to do it over, she would be my choice every time! -

Sarah was a terrific coordinator. In our situation, she was actually a total lifesaver. Our original wedding coordinator quit on us roughly six weeks before our wedding and we weren't quite sure what to do. We found Sarah, she agreed to step in, and within 48 hours she had done more for us than our prior coordinator had done in six months. She takes charge and is not afraid to provide opinions or suggestions. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful leading up to the wedding but on the day of she took it to another level and was a total rock-star. If anything went wrong that day, we certainly had no idea, which is exactly what we wanted. She was extremely prepared and had a tool or a fix for every wardrobe, hair or other malfunction. Our dog was part of the wedding and actually peed on my dress (little punk!). Sarah actually got down on her hands and knees and cleaned my dress until it was gone. I'm sure not something she wants blasted all over the internet but it shows her dedication to her clients. She did everything she could to make sure we had a tremendous day and we had an absolute blast. Thank you, Sarah! -

Sarah is AMAZING! We used her as our "day of" coordinator but she honestly did so much more than just that. I spoke to a few coordinators before Sarah but once I talked to her I knew she was who I needed. She is so on top of it, and has the big personality that you want in someone who is going to be taking care of everything and make sure everyone else is doing what they are supposed to be doing on your wedding day. Being pretty type A myself, it is not easy to give up control to someone else, but Sarah made me feel 100% comfortable handing off the reigns so I could just relax and enjoy the day. Sarah was more than happy to jump on the phone and meet in person several times in the months leading up to the wedding. She was super helpful with any and all questions, and had great ideas and suggestions for pretty much everything. On top of it all, she is HILARIOUS and made the entire process super fun and enjoyable. Love love love her and can't recommend enough. -

We ended up finding our fabulous venue, Calipaso Villa and Winery, i asked Margaret (The on-site chef) who she liked to work with to coordinate the wedding and she passed me Sarah's information. Sarah and i ended up having the best conversation! She was so much like me, funny, smart, direct, and she (upfront) told me what would be possible and what wouldn't be possible with our budget, i very much appreciate that!
Sarah, OMG, she put up with everything from my family, in the beginning, my dad wanted me to get a referral from one of her previous clients to see how they (honestly) liked working with Sarah and how was the experience, was Sarah able to communicate and execute a specific vision, etc. Well Sarah was able to give me a referral, she did a 3-way conversation with my dad, so he was able to speak to Sarah as well, let me tell you, Sarah did everything i asked with a gracious smile on her face and NO arguments!
Sarah hooked me up with some great people for makeup, hair, a gelato station and the rental company, she told me who would give me what i wanted and who wouldn't, she gave me great ideas, we had late night, texts, calls, crazy coordinator/bride lovey-dovey conversations (on the phone and through facebook) haha, she felt more like a family member then a stranger I'm paying to coordinate my wedding!
Sarah runs a tight ship, the day of my wedding she had everything on time and on point! Let me tell you, NEVER at anytime, did i get stressed out, i know there were hiccups and problems, but she never informed me of anything she just handled it, i never knew of anything going wrong with my wedding, just the opposite, i just had to focus on me and my day to the man of my dreams, she handled every last detail (no matter how insignificant). She made my experience wonderful, she even honored my grandmother during the ceremony since she was unable to attend! I walked away with a women i consider family, she's the best HANDS DOWN!

Sarah was an absolute angel! I was stressed about getting everything done because of the time constraints at the venue but Sarah not only took care of everything but she kept me calm and happy during the process. From taking care of all of the details, no matter how small, to making everything beautiful, to calmly treating the groom who passed out during the ceremony, to packing everything up and putting it all in my car after the event, Sarah handled it all. Her hard work and attention to details allowed me to be a guest at my daughter's wedding and reception without having to worry about anything - thank you!!! -

We hired Sarah Angelique to be the day-of coordinator for my barn wedding in Arroyo Grande, and could not be happier that we did. Sarah was just AWESOME with helping me (bride) with all of the details. Every question/ worry that I could think of I could run by her and she would have a solution. I'm serious, she had a solution for every "problem" I thought of. For example, our caterer was not a full service caterer, and she recommended hiring 4 "front of house staff" to help with all the little details (moving chairs from the ceremony to reception tables/ pouring champagne/ clearing plates/ serving dessert and coffee/ manning the beverage station) and so much more! Sarah, her assistant, and staff coordinated the whole thing beautifully. Might I add, not only was she 100% professional in all of her interactions with my family and friends (planning, Rehearsal, and Day Of)- she was charming and just a joy to work with! Everybody loved her! Our family and bridal party got to be guests at our wedding- and didn't have to worry about a thing. She exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend her as a day-of planner. -

I was looking for a wedding coordinator to "just help me the day of" since I live in Los Angeles and was getting married in Paso Robles. I felt I had everything else under control. So I found Sarah Angelique, she was so easy to work with since the moment we first spoke. I met her once in person but she completely got what I needed and pointed out other things I had not even thought about.... I did NOT have everything under control but she's a pro and helped me with everything we needed. Since she was already booked on my wedding day, she left me in the amazing hands of Kristin. Kristin was AMAZING, she took care of us on our big day, she was so sweet and professional, there is no way our big day would have been that same without them. We felt so lucky to have had Kristen and her assistant there with us.
If I could one piece of advice to anyone planning a destination wedding in Paso Robles it would be to book Sarah Angelique to plan your whole event (not just the day of). It makes everything so much easier and less stressful, you get to enjoy the process rather than stressing out about the details. Leave it to the professionals, totally worth it. -

After purchasing several books and stressing myself out, I decided to call a wedding planner for help. After calling several planners within the central coast area, Sarah was the easiest to talk to. When I told her my venue, a vineyard, she got very excited and went through the entire budget. I hired her immediately.
I recently got married at a vineyard right outside of Paso Robles, CA. I gave Sarah my vision, and she turned my vintage garden them into my dream wedding. Sarah was available for emails and phone calls for those "bridal/wedding" emergencies and was very supportive. During the week of, she would phone to ensure I wasn't stressed out! The day of, she was so helpful that the day was smooth... Even though I'm sure there were issues. I'm so grateful to have found Sarah to be my planner!!!! -

I highly recommend Sarah Angelique to everyone!!! At first I thought I could do it all myself and so did my fiance. He was also hesitant about trying to fit it in our budget. But Sarah was recommended to me by a friend and at our first meeting my fiance said 'pay the lady'! : ) We hired her for her day-of services but she did way more throughout the entire process that we didn't even expect. And the day of our wedding was absolutely amazing because of her! She really did more than I ever could've imagined. She had great ideas but listened to what we wanted as well. My advice to future brides getting married in Paso Robles, is to go straight to Sarah Angelique first! I hired Sarah for the day and did a lot of vendor hiring and planning on my own. I feel that Sarah is very hard working and familiar with the area vendors and if I would have found her first I may have chosen vendors with a better outcome on wedding day. Having close relationships with vendors is very important so that what you want on your special day is clearly communicated, this is where Sarah comes in. I know everyone is on tighter and tighter budgets these days, but Sarah is essential for your wedding. She has a great personality, she is absolutely adorable, she's strong and good at being in charge, and she will get things done the way that you want them done! -

Sarah was my wedding planner for my wedding on September 20, 2008 and she did an excellent job. Not only was she my planner, she was also a great listener and problem solver for all those little things that seem to turn up before a wedding. She put me at ease whenever I got worried about how it would turn out and gave me great ideas when I felt stuck. The wedding itself went on without a hitch. Everyone had a great time and I felt so relaxed. I was able to enjoy my day, confident that everything would be taken care of with her as my planner. Sarah is a fabulous wedding planner. My first impression of Sarah was she is such a warm, nice, fun, and professional person. She thought of all the details I would have never thought of. One memory I still have to this day(and I was married 7 years ago) is how she packed a basket for Tim and I and put it in our limo towards the end of the night and left a note on it for us. In the basket there were candles, chocolates, two plates of dinner(because every bride knows you don't eat much during the reception dinner), silverware, and a CD. She went above and beyond my expectations. To anyone considering a wedding planner if you choose Sarah you will have a day you will always remember and you too will have a "basket memory". I never knew I was going to gain a husband and a life long friend (Sarah) all on the same day. October 27th 2001. -

"Let Go And Let Sarah"
Sarah is amazing!!! Her motto "Let Go and Let Sarah" fits her perfectly. We hired her VERY early on, like just under 2 years out, and she was responsive and helpful along the way even though I know she was super busy with weddings that were actually like soon :P I would send her texts and pics of ideas as I was trying to narrow my theme and she was always quick to give me her input. She also helped keep me in line with some of my crazy ideas and helped me with all the wedding details and etiquette I was clueless about. She set up all our vendor meetings and went to most of them and knew the right questions to ask that again, we were clueless about. And can we talk about how FUN she is?! Sarah has an amazing personality and is a riot to be around, but she also knows when to crack the whip and get stuff done! She helped make my vision of a colorful cactus wedding come true and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. I'll sum up my review with an example. I texted her the afternoon of the wedding, whilst in the middle of getting my hair/makeup done, to let her know that when I placed the beer order I didn't tell BevMo where to go...her response "Already handled." As a super planner/organizer type person myself it was hard to let go of control, but Sarah handled everything and after that text I knew I could truly just relax and "Let Go and Let Sarah."-

First of all. Sarah did an excellent job at turning my vision and ideas for our wedding into a reality! She had great ideas of her own for organization of the wedding as well as for little touches to personalize the wedding. She never forced her ideas or opinion on me but was very honest about any concerns she had with my ideas. She was available by phone/text/email although through email I received a slower response. She coordinated with all of my vendors which was important because my venue was not a traditional venue and needed special instructions. She visited the venue with us several times to plan out the set up for the wedding even if it was an hour drive for her each way. We held our wedding at the Point San Luis Lighthouse which had never had a wedding of our size before. It was all outdoors as well which was also different than they had previously accommodated. Sarah worked hard with our site coordinator to ensure everything we planned for our wedding was possible specifically the outdoor lighting which was an issue that Sarah resolved for us and made it look great. She was conscientious of our budget but also very realistic and up front with me when I underestimated the cost of things. She helped me prioritize as well. The day of the wedding, she was a life saver getting everyone together and moving the show along. We did end up getting a little behind schedule even though it was well planned out. But once I asked her to speed it along, she was able to get us through it and keep people enjoying themselves in the process. Our wedding was incredibly fun and our guests had no complaints. Sarah even packaged and loaded all of our gifts and personal decorations in our car. I think Sarah is a hard working planner that will be dedicated to making your wedding the most memorable day of your life!!! -

Let me just say, anyone who can deal with me, my now husband, and both our sets of parents is an extraordinary person! Sarah was available anytime I needed her throughout the process. I loved how she took charge during our rehearsal. I was honestly completely stress free the day of my wedding because she made sure everything ran smoothly. That was the most important thing to me. The only thing me, my fiancee, and my family had to do the day of was show up and she took care of everything else. I was convinced by the planner that I still required her services despite already having coordinators come with my venue's package. She said they only coordinated the facility. I had to constantly request paperwork and for things to get done. The things that my Mom had her check into were never done. There were numerous times that although she had still not really done anything for me, she was requesting me to add on more services and pay her extra to come and shop or do things with me. When we met with the venue coordinators they had spent more time working with me that although Sarah made it clear she was running the show, the other coordinators had a better hold of details and my wedding vision. There were months between the times where I would check in with her and she really did not make an effort to get a hold of me. What I would have liked is a more structured way that she contacted me. I would have like for her to call or e-mail me every few months, then to have a detailed discussion 1 month prior, and more regular contact leading up to the wedding.
The day of my wedding, I saw Sarah's assistant and the site coordinators more than I saw her. Things were set out in the wrong location and I constantly had to have my bridesmaids fixing things she had set out b/c they were there with me and she was MIA. Sarah said that she set things up in the correct location, people were moving things, which just might be the case as I was still dressing and only saw these things later. Sarah later said that often when the bridesmaids went to do the things she had just started working on them or the projects were already in progress. The coordinators that came with the venue kept checking in with me to see if there was anything I needed and I thought were much more helpful. It was later explained to me by Sarah that everything seemed like it was running smoothly and as planned, that I looked happy as did my guests and she wanted to bug me as little as possible.
My wedding was set to end at 9 pm with my husband and I leaving at 845. As my wedding was on a Sunday, many guests started to leave right after dinner. My expectation would have been that the coordinator realize that maybe we should bump up the rest of the activities such as cake, money dance, and sparklers so that people would be able to participate. I had to actually request this and by the time we started doing these things there was only a few family members present, most of our guests were gone. Eventually everything did happen, later than I wanted, but Sarah would not have known this as I couldn't find her. If you plan on booking Sarah, I would just make sure that you set very clear expectations for her. I expected to have more communication on my wedding day and to know what was going on. She did not make herself available, so I had to hunt her down if I needed anything or just leave things how they were. I feel like I was able to do a better job on my own of researching sites and vendors as well as comparing and cutting costs than Sarah was able to do for me. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was probably only a small number of friends and family that noticed the things that went wrong. Although things were not exactly how I wanted, there were no major things that went wrong and I know that there were a few minor things that did go wrong that that were quickly handled by Sarah and I never had to be bothered with. I had a candy buffet that Sarah set up for me. I had more pieces for the buffet, but I never had a chance to ask her to set them up b/c she was not around. What she did set up looked great and she did keep it restocked. Sarah stayed an extra few hours at the end of the night to ensure everything was wrapped up and loaded up gifts and any items that needed to come back to my house into my parent's cars. The sparkler table she set up also looked beautiful and our send off at the end of the night was beautiful. -

Horror Story Wedding Planning
In October of 2022 I had the unfortunate experience of working with Sarah Angelique as my wedding planner, and I feel compelled to share my honest review to help others make informed decisions. In the beginning, I was filled with hope and excitement as Sarah made me feel comfortable and confident in her abilities. We had chosen Tooth & Nail Winery as our venue, and things started off on a positive note.
Initially, our phone meetings and vendor visits went smoothly, and I genuinely believed we were in good hands. However, as the wedding date approached, the situation took a drastic turn for the worse. Sarah began missing deadlines and became unresponsive to my messages and calls. This lack of communication and organization reached a point where I discovered that she had not even confirmed the photographer, despite my assumption that it had been taken care of.
The stress and anxiety I experienced during this time were overwhelming. Tooth & Nail Winery's team also grew frustrated with Sarah's lack of responsiveness, causing additional strain on an already challenging situation. Despite my attempts to address the issues with her, Sarah continued to apologize half-heartedly and failed to rectify the situation.
Things escalated to the point where she completely blocked me on all communication channels, leaving me in a state of panic just a month and a half before my wedding. In desperation, I had to find a new planner and redo significant aspects of the preparations. The entire ordeal was incredibly hectic, and I am immensely grateful for the support and professionalism of the team that helped me salvage my special day.
I held back from writing this review for a long time, not wanting it to be a complete condemnation of Sarah. However, it's crucial to be transparent about my experience. I strongly advise against entrusting your wedding to Sarah Angelique. Find a planner who will genuinely be there for you, uphold their commitments, and provide the support you deserve on such an important day. -

Steer Clear of this Wedding Planner!
In the strongest possible terms, we recommend looking elsewhere for your wedding planning and coordination needs in the Paso Robles area. We lost our deposit to Sarah, she delivered no work product, and ultimately ghosted us. Please continue reading for the details if you haven’t already crossed her off your list.
Our relationship started in early January 2022 and she was the first vendor we hired. Our venue required hiring a coordinator and provided a few recommendations. We thought that experience with the venue and relationships with local vendors would serve us well, so we hired her.
First signs of trouble occurred in February. Upon us hiring her, we communicated a date that we’d travel to Paso Robles from our home in the Bay Area for late Feb, providing 6+ weeks lead time for her. It’s an expensive trip for us plus we have full lives with work and family obligations, so we wanted to lock in the key vendors on this trip that required in person meetings. We reiterated the importance of this trip multiple times to Sarah. We held weekly conversations as well as emailed and texted with her, so we thought this was under control. About a week out prior to our travel weekend, we started asking about a schedule because there was none. These requests got more urgent as the week proceeded. The MORNING we were driving to Paso Robles, we asked her for details of our first vendor meeting and that’s when we finally got a schedule. Needless to say the trip didn’t go well. We wasted time with vendors that weren’t priority and some were so misaligned with our needs which a quick conversation could have avoided those meetings. But we did walk away from the trip with a couple of leads to move to contract.
In March, we started trying to follow up with Sarah on the vendors we liked as we wanted to secure them and avoid the risk of losing our date to other couples. Sarah claimed it was under control but we were never presented with contracts or asked for deposits. Our biggest follow up with was catering given the one Sarah presented to us was a complete mismatch. We undertook the search ourselves and ultimately found a caterer that fit our needs and budget.
As we got into late March and then April, we started to hear less and less from Sarah. She would fire off weird updates to assure us she was hard at work but generally wouldn’t return our texts or calls in the timely fashion as in the early part of the relationship. We still had no vendors secured and we started to get nervous and knew we needed to plan another trip. We decided to follow up with the handful of vendors we had contact info for just to see if there was a hold up somewhere. They all universally responded that they were either waiting on Sarah for a go ahead or that they didn’t have our date secured.
That’s when we ended the relationship and took the planning upon ourselves. Even in the final 48 hours, she didn’t reply to our urgent requests or even the fact we told her she was fired. To this day, we haven’t heard from her.
To say that she overpromised and under delivered is an understatement, steer far clear with your wedding planning needs. -
