Summery & natural hair and makeup - Urbanista turned my pinterest page into a reality!

For my wedding, I had my hair styled by Latecia, and makeup by Ksenia and could not have been happier with how everything turned out! I was aiming for a more natural style as I don't typically wear heavy makeup on a day-to-day basis. Ksenia did an incredible job of dialing up my typical look to be a bit more adventurous. She turned my vision into a reality! The makeup lasted all day and I felt incredibly comfortable & natural throughout. My sister and mother also had their makeup done by Ksenia, and she was great with their bolder, more dramatic looks as well.

Latecia did hair and she was everything!! She was willing to take the time to do and re-do my curls until they were perfect. She knew how to translate my pinterest goals into a look that worked for me. My sister (who has a mullet to begin with!) had an elaborate & beautifully messy up-do that matched her extravagant velvet gown perfectly!

I couldn't be happier with Urbanista. Working with Hannah, the head stylist/owner was a breeze! All communications and logistics went smoothly. Couldn't recommend them enough!!

Wonderful service!

Hannah from Urbanista Weddings did an amazing job providing hair and makeup services to myself and my bridesmaids. She was extremely flexible when I requested changes to our proposal and was fun to work with overall. She is an expert at her craft and also did an amazing job following health and safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Incredible Artists!!!

Yessie & Yoana of Urbanista Weddings couldn't have done a more amazing job on making me look and feel like the most beautiful bride on the planet. When I asked Yessie to transform my hair and shared my 'looks' with her, she created my vision perfectly (and trust me, it was an elaborate request)! Similarly, Yoanna made my skin look flawless (and my bridesmaids were stunning)! I can't thank these two enough for giving my photographer a MUCH easier editing job! I'd recommend them for any and all events!!!!

I really really liked working with Urbanista. First, they were easy and direct to plan with - after initially seeing if my date would work they sent a bunch of information that helped me understand what to expect from them and what information they would need from me. Second, as soon as I confirmed I was set up with Latecia Farrell, who was awesome - she was really flexible about timing to schedule my trial (which was all crazy because I was only in town a few days) and then just really really nice and fun. I loved my hair and my makeup - which she did with very vague direction from me (I showed her some pix but was just sort of lost about what I wanted - I liked everything I looked at!).

Then, for the actual wedding Latecia worked with two assistants to do me and seven bridesmaids and two moms - no joke! They were quick, efficient, and fun, arrived on time and finished early - also everyone looked beautiful! I had a wide range of wants/desires in terms of final looks that ladies were hoping for and everyone looked like themselves, just even prettier (also the makeup photographed beautifully, which I didn't even know was something I should be thinking about). Also on the day of I told Latecia I had loved my demo look but it hadn't held as well as I hoped and she magically took the feedback and did my hair in a way I just loved. I felt really pretty and so comfortable around all of the Urbanista ladies - getting ready was such a fun part of the day and they made it relaxing and calming and also exciting and fun! Highly recommended!

I booked Urbanista weddings to do hair only for myself and my bridal party. I had my trial run and wedding hair done by Latecia - she did a fantastic job! She looked at the photos I provided her and was able to combine all of the elements I loved.
I had two stylists the day of for seven women to have their hair done. Hair done on-site and as soon as they got there they set up super quickly and got people started in their chairs. I would say it took less than 2 hours which is so much faster than I budgeted!
Many of the ladies in my party just told the stylists to do whatever they thought would look nice and all of their hair turned out fantastic. It was wildly windy for my outdoor wedding, but all of our hair still looked great by the end of the night!
Everyone loved their hair, it stayed all night, looked fantastic in photos, all of the Urbanista ladies I coordinated with and worked with were super sweet and helpful!

Hannah is a makeup and hair GODDESS! I hired her for my bridal hair and makeup as well as hair and makeup for 5 bridesmaids for my July 2016 wedding. Hannah brought Allison and her intern Madison along with her the day of, showing up right on time at the bright hour of 8am, all the way in Suquamish, which is a ferry ride and lots of driving away from where the artists live. Hannah and her ladies waltzed in with smiles, energy, and makeup and hair products galore - the Glam Squad! Hannah, Allison, and Madison totally nailed the looks for my girls and I! Ladies, let me say this again: they seriously N-A-I-L-E-D it. I have never felt more confident or beautiful in my entire life and cannot thank Hannah and her team enough for this. I wanted to cry out of sheer happiness when I saw what I looked like - which was like myself, yet with all my features and qualities enhanced to this crazy level of perfection. Even months later, I am still SO happy and giddy thinking about the special experience of getting ready the morning of for my wedding, and the Urbanista team deserves so much credit. My skin and hair looked flawless and stayed perfect the entire day/night - which is no small feat for me! Seriously. Hannah is a magician - she accomplished the impossible feat of having my lipstick (and all the makeup) last all day and night: through lots and lots of kisses with my groom, drinks, food, etc. Ah-may-zing! I am forever grateful to Hannah and Urbanista and wish I could work with this fabulous group of talented women all the time.

I got my engagement photos & my wedding hair and makeup done by Hannah and her crew-they are simply wonderful! She's got an amazing aesthetic that translates in her work and she listens to be sure you are getting exactly what you want (I went simple slip dress with natural makeup and 60's inspired hair). I recommend her to anyone -including all my friends-who is looking for a creative and modern stylist that gets it.

I worked with Timaree and Allison on my September 13th wedding and I'm soooo happy I had these ladies. I started with a consultation with Timaree a month prior, and she totally got my vision and was really fun to work with. On the day-of, my biggest concern was timing because my group was fairly large with 8 total, and we all wanted to get our hair and makeup done. Timaree and Allison were both super punctual and even showed up early to my hotel room to setup. And these girls work fast! We started at 8:30 and were done by 1:30, which for hair and makeup for 8 people is impressive.

And despite the time crunch, they did not skim on quality.
Timaree and Allison are pros and they made everyone look fantastic! The updos they gave my bridesmaids were so beautiful and intricate and their makeup looked glamorous - exactly the theme we were going for. I absolutely loved both my hair and makeup which held up all evening (I think I only touched up my makeup once).

Both of these girls are sweet, fun, and super talented. Working with Hannah to set everything up is also a breeze, and their pricing is really competitive. I highly recommend working with Urbanista Wedding for hair and makeup.

Hannah and Laticha were the best team to work with!! They got myself, my mom, my two bridesmaids and our two flower girls ready quickly but with great quality. Our morning was definitely more fun because we spent it with them. My hair is super long and thick and NO ONE has EVER been able to get it to hold a curl; with their skill my hair held for over 12 hours! (probably would have held forever if i hadn't showered). I couldn't have asked for a better team and i got so many compliments on how beautiful i looked it was unreal.

Nicole did hair and make-up for my three bridesmaids and myself. She was fabulous to work with! She made us all look beautiful and with plenty of time to spare. Nicole was very sweet and easy to work with. She created a beautiful fingerwave hairstyle for me, made me comfortable with fake eyelashes that still looked natural, and was patient with me to find the perfect lip color.

I have to say, I cannot understand the VERY FEW negative ratings for Urbanista Weddings, especially Hannah, as I had nothing but great service from this professional and charming lady. Maybe a little bit of "bridezillas?" From the first moment of communication and scheduling for my trial run to the most important day of my life, I was completely and inexplicably cared for and made to feel special. As I am a more mature woman, my makeup required a little extra care to cover wrinkles and age spots. By the time Hannah was finished with me, I looked 10 years younger! You all should have seen the look I got from my groom! And the hair looked fabulous as well. By the time Hannah and her assistant were done, every single female in the party looked stunning! I could not believe the service she provided for the price, I can't remember any other time when I got so much for so little! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone, as I just loved her style, sense of humor, and her professionalism throughout the whole process. She made my very special day even more special! I’m so glad I picked Urbanista Weddings for my wedding after weeks of research and comparisons on MUA and hairstylists in the Seattle area. Hannah and her team came up on top as far as pricing, flexibility, and responsiveness. Hannah answered all my questions and concerns with full description of her services. She has an awesome team of artists working with her. Throughout the whole period, Hannah kept me up to date with reminders and sent me full invoices of the description of services! Great transparency!

My main artist from Hannah’s team was Michelle and she was fantastic! She arrived on time, and when she completed my style, it was just as we had gone over in the trial and it was a beautiful bun! My hair looked flawless and classic. Michelle and Andrea were able executed my short-notice bridesmaid style request perfectly on each one of my bridesmaids. Michelle did a fantastic job in leading and managing the styles. Lots of compliments on bridesmaid hair as well during my wedding! She even made sure we got extra spray and touch-ups before she left.

For makeup, I was concerned my mother would not know how to apply makeup to her own aging, dulling skin and eyes. After Michelle's makeup application, my mother looked so beautiful and happy, I almost cried! She also offered to help with my eyeliner. Asian eyes, mono-lid, she did a great wing tip! She just goes above and beyond. I feel so blessed she was there to prepare for my wedding.

I would recommend Urbanista Weddings to any bride who wants the professionalism, artistry, and touch of sweetness that Hannah and her team can offer on the special day. Their talent and organization takes the stress out of planning!

I waited too long to book with Pacific Artistry so Shanelle (from Pacific Artistry) directed me to Hannah at Urbanista Weddings. Hannah was so helpful and responsive to all my emails. She gave me Latay and Brittany for the day of my wedding. They arrived at the hotel on time. While Latay worked on my hair and make-up, Brittany worked on the rest of the ladies (3 ladies & 2 flower girls) and was done by 11am. Brittany was so nice and willing to add my mom in at the last minute. Latay did the make-up for the rest of the ladies and she did such a great job. She made all of us look beautiful. I loved my make-up (airbrushed; even my lipstick was airbrushed) and Latay was able to copy the hairstyle that I wanted. I didn't have a lip gloss for touch up, so she gave me an extra one that she had not opened yet. They were so quick at everything and still did an awesome job. They were all a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Urbanista Weddings!

Hannah at Urbanista weddings was amazing! she did Make up and brought with her someone who did awesome vintage hair-dos! The make-up was flawless, lasted all day, all night! Airbrush, false lashes...it was amazing. she does a great job using colors that compliment skin tone (and make your teeth look really white!) Prices were very reasonable!

I cannot say enough about Urbanista Weddings! First off, my hair/make up person cancelled on me, weeks before my wedding. Hannah worked hard to fit myself and my 5 bridesmaids in on such short notice. Everyone's hair and make up (done by Jennifer) looked gorgeous, and stayed perfectly all day, in 85 degree weather, and through 2 hours of intense setting up! Mine even looked great the next morning, after flying all the way to the Caribbean. I would highly recommend these ladies!

I used Urbanista Weddings for my baby shower. I was 8 months preganant and feeling big, fat and ugly, so I decided to get my hair and makeup done, to make myself feel a little bit better about myself. Well it worked! My hair and makeup was stunning. Urbanista Weddings did a fantastic job on the hair and make-up for myself and by bridal party. We did a trail run with my hair up in a beautiful sweeping way and it was really beautiful. On the day of the wedding, I told Hannah that my fiancee was disappointed that my hair wasn't going to be down, we made a last minute change and put the hair down and to the side. She also suggested airbrushing my make up on, and I am so happy that I made that decision. I was so happy with the results. I looked radiant and beautiful and my make up was perfect all day and night. She also made all of my bridesmaids feel beautiful and adjusted to all of their needs and wants. Thanks Hannah!

I really like working with Hannah. I don't do anything to my hair on a daily basis, and I normally wear makeup maybe twice a year, when I was looking at three hair/makeup artists recommended to me by a wedding consultant, I really like the natural feel of Hannah's work. Her prices were very competitive, and after the trail run, I knew she was the perfect choice for me. She was very down to earth, and was able to zero in on what I wanted when I didn't even know what I wanted and couldn't give much guidance. She did my hair and makeup, hair for my 3 bridesmaids and my mom, and at the last minute, she was able to fit in some quick hair appointments for my mother in law and her sister too.

She did run a bit late the morning of the wedding, traffic happens, but I had been sure to allocate time generously so it just meant I got a bit more time at my family brunch! From my professional background in event planning, I know how much a lot of people who don't plan huge events on a regular basis can underestimate the time it takes to do anything with a group, and how many brides have planned an event on the scale of a wedding before? Plus, stuff happens. Nothing anyone can do about it. No need to stress about it if you planned accordingly though. If your wedding can't handle a 15 minute delay somewhere, I think that is probably your problem rather than a problem with any of your vendors.

In any case, a few days earlier, when I had asked her about adding my MIL and her sister to the list of people to do hair for, she put one of her colleagues "on call" just in case she needed her, which I really appreciated. It is little stuff like that where it really helps to have hired a professional with connections to other professionals, rather than a friend of a friend who just really likes doing hair. In the end, Hannah ended up finishing plenty early, and we all looked beautiful. I absolutely love the way my hair and makeup turned out, and I really liked working with Hannah.

Hannah and Michelle were amazing! They finished all us 6 girls on time and ready for pictures! They were soo easy to work with and made us all look beautiful! I had revisions on the hairstyle i wanted and Hannah was able to accomodate all my requests and made me feel comfortable. Michelle did a great job with all the bridesmaids. I worked on picking a Hair and Makeup Artist with Hannah Bush and we selected Latay. They were both timely, professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Hannah answered all my questions quickly and with no fuss. Latay was able to create the look I wanted for my engagement photos after just a few moments of looking at the examples I provided. My makeup lasted like there was no other! It is difficult to get my hair to hold a curl and while my curls did drop fairly quickly there was still a little there which is impressive.

My wedding is in March 2016 so we will see how things go then and update with more info then.

I worked with Hannah and Latay for my wedding day and they were absolutely wonderful. Both ladies did an amazing job on hair and make up for mothers, bridesmaids, groom and bride. Everyone was very happy with their looks and was very impressed with the quality of the services provided. I requested that the girls have a very natural look and they did just that. Hannah, the owner is very responsive to emails and was able to accommodate all the changes that took place in service requests, timeline, etc. She has a large team of stylists, so even if one calls in sick, you will definitely be covered on your wedding day. I loved my bridal look and would highly recommend Urbanista Weddings to any bride, especially those apprehensive about having a stylists- you will not be disappointed!

After going to another stylist for a trial that I was really unhappy with I tried Hannah at Urbanista. The trial went very well and I found Hannah very easy to work with. She listens to her clients, very perceptive, and open to feedback. She makes it about you being happy.

I had Urbanista do hair and makeup for myself, my mother, and 5 bridesmaids at the Willows Lodge before my wedding. I honestly think their work was so amazing I had never seen any of us look so beautiful. They did wonderful. The airbrush makeup stayed put. Even when my husband rubbed cake on my nose, I had coverage after wiping it off. My hair stayed completely in place and nicely curled (did a half updo with poof, long hair). They were enjoyable to work with and we had fun all getting ready together.

My only complaint was that things ran behind schedule by about an hour. We made sure to have me (bride) done, but I needed the girls done for some photos before putting my dress on. It pushed pictures back a bit and made me really stressed out. However I will say that Hannah was very accomodating, leaving the Willows and coming to the Hollywood Schoolhouse to finish hair/makeup for the other girls and in the end it was all okay. I am still impressed with all the did for 7 ladies!

Hannah is one of the coolest people I've met and her work is AMAZING! She did my hair EXACTLY how I pictured it and it was still looking good the next day after sleeping on it! lol (and it was not hard to comb through it for washing the next morning either)
My makeup was beautiful! Not too much, not too little and it also stayed through to the next morning!
I recommend her for ANY occasion where you want your hair and make up to be perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Urbanista Weddings did my wedding makeup for my special day for myself & my sister! I had my trial run in October for my December wedding & it was a WONDERFUL experience! Hannah was a fantastic artist & I left with my perfect look & had a great time! I was so excited to have my makeup done for my big day! This is where I need to state a few things that didn't impress me. Firstly, Hannah (who had done my trial & my makeup) emailed me on the Friday before my wedding, & informed me that after the trial she had decided she wasn't a "good fit" for my makeup look & that she had given me to a completely different artist for my day & that she hoped there was no inconvenience! This was completely insane to do this to a bride 2 days before her wedding especially when I paid close to 100 for a trial so I would know how my makeup & hair would turn out! If you want to go out of town or go home for Christmas (which the stylist told me that Hannah had gone out of town), just tell me & be straight, don't mask it by all of a sudden saying "I am not a good fit" 2 days before my wedding when the trial was 2.5 months prior! I am VERY flexible & understanding, but this severely impacted my day in a large way.
1. I had to completely recreate my wedding look that I wanted & be able to explain everything to someone new (she did not know what I wanted when she arrived to my wedding) & had no idea how it would look.
2. The artist was 45 minutes LATE! I gave Hannah and the artist the photo timeline.She was supposed to be there at 1 pm as Hannah had told me in an email the day before. She did not arrive until 1:45. She was supposed to do my sister's makeup 1st which she did. Because of this, my makeup started late & it caused me to have to rush putting on my dress & I was late to photos, causing us to not have our photos as a couple as originally scheduled. We had to rush straight into family & wedding party. So disappointed for how much I spent, though the makeup itself was done well.

I realize that planning a wedding with a short timeline in August can be hectic, and I appreciate that they fit me in. But I feel like they would have been better not taking on another client as I don't feel like I had their best service.

Scheduling was sporadic, hard to reach the stylist even day of the ceremony. The only vendor to cause stress. They had our location written down wrong (it was an out of town wedding... so I'm lucky that the stylist showed up at all). She arrived 30 minutes late due to traffic and car troubles. I was very pleased with my hair, but would have liked some adjustments with the finished makeup look. However as soon as she was done she took off right away because her ride was here. Literally an extra 5 minutes to ensure that I was happy with the final look would have made a huge difference.

Scheduling nightmare.
Incorrect location (2 hour further commute).
30 minutes late.
Rushed.
Left without ensuring client satisfied.
Overpriced for the quality.

Would not recommend.

Individual Artists were great, the owner was horrible

The owner of this company is who you work with to schedule your hair and make up artists. She is extremely unresponsive it takes weeks of multiple emails to get a response back from her. She did not have clear communication with the artists prior to the trial and the day of the wedding. We were supposed to have a second artist for make up and the second artists never showed. This messed up our entire day of timeline. The original artist was also very unhappy so this was not a communication error on my end. When asking for reimbursement because our second artist did not show she ended up charging me more and did not apologize for the disaster her organization caused on the day of my wedding. I would 100% book Rosalie Bushy for make up and Kristin Swanson for hair services separately and independently of this company they were great and everyone looked beautiful.

I had an initial trial run with Alison, and it looked like I had curled my own hair..when you swung it around the front it looked barely curled and stiff! I asked for another trial run with someone else and it took about a month before I heard anything. Finally Hannah, the owner responded and agreed she would do my hair and make up. The trial run was great and I was very pleased! The day of the wedding Alison showed up to do hair for my bridesmaids, not a big deal, expect I think she was offended I didn't go with her because was super short and not nice at all! Hannah showed up late (she initially went to the wrong hotel) and I think she ended up rushing through my hair and make up. My make up was perfect, my hair was not exactly like the trial, but not terrible. However, it totally fell out at the reception! She assured me that would never happen, and I was really bummed I did. It just looked so messy and not great in pictures.

But the worst part of the experience is that I requested make up not only for me, but for my mother-in-law and 4 bridesmaids! Half way through doing my hair I asked Hannah who was doing the bridemaid's make up, and she looked at me blankly and said that I never requested that....

I had literally confirmed over email 3 different times AND verbally confirmed 2 days prior to my wedding day.. I don't know how you mix that up. She tried to put the blame on me and it was very stressful. Luckily she had a back up make up artist on call that came but she only had time for 2 women.

I was not impressed. I run events all of the time and I was very efficient in telling her what I needed.

Overall, it all worked out but there was a huge lack of communication that added unnecessary stress.

I booked Hannah in November for my July 21st wedding. She assured me she would be the artist doing my hair and makeup. She cancelled 9 days before because another stylist of hers was unable to do hair and makeup for another bride that only she could do. This was incredibly stressful and frustrating. Hannah sent me an email about this situation and claimed I was still a priority to her. She didn’t even have the decency to call to let me know about this. She added an additional stylist fee the week before and had to charge me after the wedding for 1 of the people because she didn’t update the contract with the correct information I gave her multiple times. Hair and makeup turned out good by the random people she assigned to us. They didn’t even know who was doing hair and who was doing makeup that day. Overall, everything was very unprofessional and I definitely would not recommend this company.

Unreliable, inflexible, and unprofessional

I was super excited to work with Urbanista after my trial run with Hannah. I ended up paying in full a week or so before my wedding, which turned out to be a huge mistake. They never responded to any of my emails after my initial booking and I was only able to get ahold of them through my planner. At the trial I had talked to Hannah directly about the timeline for the day of, when our venue access started, and what kind of looks my bridesmaids were going for. The day before my wedding, I still had not heard from her, but my planner was able to reach out. Hannah then told us that our start time needed to be two hours before we had venue access. We tried to reach a compromise where we would start off location and travel to the venue when we were able to get access, but Hannah said she would have to charge for extra. We ended up cancelling the day before because she was unwilling to accommodate her lack of planning and communication. We spent extra money running to Ulta the night before to purchase makeup for everyone. In the end, we all looked amazing and I ended up liking the makeup I did myself better than what she did at the trial. She is now refusing to give us even a partial refund because she said we were "unrealistic and unreasonable" and it "wasn't her fault".
Please consider choosing someone more reliable who is willing to communicate.

Poor Communication and Zero Accountability

I was part of a wedding party that had a very difficult experience with Urbanista Weddings and as a result will strongly recommend against contracting with them. We paid over $1000 only to have Hannah change plans at the last minute, resulting in us cancelling her services for breach of contract. She is now refusing even a partial refund.

The bride agreed to contract with Hannah at the time of her trial makeup session and informed her that we had the venue starting at 11AM for a 4PM ceremony (with some pictures before the ceremony). Hannah was amenable and said she may get other MUAs to assist in order to keep us on schedule. We paid in full and although we have now asked multiple times, we still never received a written contract.

From the time of the trial on, the bride made multiple attempts to check in with Hannah but never heard back. Finally, the day before the wedding, Hannah responded and said that she needed us at the venue at 9AM. This was two hours earlier than we initially planned and it was quite a shock to us that she was only communicating this the day before the wedding with no additional explanation. We scrambled to find a solution and attempted to contact Hannah multiple times to see if we could come to a compromise, but she was not answering her phone or email. By the time of the rehearsal, with Hannah still not responding, we chose to act as though we were doing our own makeup since we couldn’t accommodate her last-minute mandate. We told our wedding coordinator that we would all give up our makeup so that only the bride needed hers done, as long as we could be refunded at least a significant portion of what we paid. On the morning of the wedding, Hannah finally communicated with our coordinator, saying that we had unreasonable expectations and that she had been clear and transparent and it was not her fault that we did not like the schedule. She also indicated at this time that she would not be giving any kind of refund as we (the wedding party) were the ones being unreasonable.

I understand things change and weddings are highly dynamic events, but Hannah’s silence in the days/weeks prior to the wedding does not add up to “transparency” in our minds. When we asked for a refund, she said that it was “complicated” because “retainers, no matter the amount, are non refundable.” This detail was never explained to the bride prior to payment.

I can understand Hannah offering a partial refund as I there are certain costs of doing business that she deserves to have covered when someone cancels less than 24 hours before an event. However, we never would have had to cancel so late if Hannah had clearly communicated with us earlier than the day before the wedding. If at the trial session she had told the bride that more time was needed, we would have discussed as a group and figured things out. We were not afforded that opportunity as the schedule changed less than 24 hours before the wedding and - as all brides know - you cannot just show up to a venue two hours earlier than contracted.

This whole experience was stressful for the bride and wedding party and very frustrating as we did our best to contact Hannah to ensure things were clear with plenty of time before the wedding. In the end, we did our own makeup and everyone looked beautiful, but we are still out many hundreds of dollars over this. We are continuing to pursue a refund of at least 75% as that is what we feel is fair, but Hannah has stopped communicating with our wedding coordinator. We have had to contact a lawyer, which is not what you want to be doing when you’re trying to bask in the afterglow of a great wedding.

The days leading up to a wedding are so stressful for all involved that I would never risk doing business with a company that doesn’t communicate in a timely and transparent manner and has a history of changing plans with less than 24 hours notice. Please be aware that Urbanista is following these business practices and make sure to get everything in writing if you choose to do business with them.

Unprofessional and unresponsive

Please do not book this company for your wedding. It’s taken me a few months to write this due to the overwhelming stress Hannah and her company caused on and leading up to my wedding.
I booked Urbanista weddings back in Feb 2022 for my May 2023 wedding. At first Hannah was very attentive and personable, helping me with look ideas and booking. When I originally reached out to Hannah I was inquiring for May 13 2023 but finding out that was Mother’s Day weekend we decided to move our wedding to May 20 2023. My contract was signed for May 20 2023. After signing the contract it was near impossible to get a hold of Hannah, schedule a trial, update the contract or get a timeline.
Three weeks before the wedding on 4/27 I reached out to Hannah to set up a timeline for the day of my wedding. I heard back from Hannah’s assistant and said that they would get back to me when they were back in town. I then followed back with them once they were back in town on 5/3, her assistant got back to me right away around confusion on the dates stating my contract and profile were scheduled for 5/13.
Hearing this 17 days before the wedding put me in a spiral. I immediately wrote back to her assistant asking for more information and that the contract I have is for 5/20.
I followed up 2 hours later after getting no response to see if anyone could get back to me. I followed up again 4 hours later after not hearing back from anyone asking for someone to please write me back and let me know what is happening. Having no response on if I was going to have a makeup artist for my wedding only got me more worried about what was happening and had me feeling like I had been ghosted by Hannah. Finally I received a phone call from Hannah 8 hours later.
It was late so I called her back in the morning. We spoke on the phone and she apologized for the confusion, let me know it was a booking error by her previous assistant. She said she did have the date wrong and that they had the 13th booked for me instead of the 20th. She tried to reassure me that she would find makeup artists for the day and was working on fixing the problem.
Because of the turmoil this caused me I asked Hannah if we can please cancel the contract. For not getting back to me in a timely manner and because I had this contact booked for over a year I felt like this was incredibly unprofessional because if I had not reached out to set up the timeline it’s likely they would have shown up on the wrong date leaving me without anyone for my wedding day.
When requesting a refund, Hannah refused to refund me saying she’d give me a 10% discount off my service. Again, I let Hannah know how I didn’t feel confident that she would secure new makeup artists and that I didn’t want this stress leading up to my wedding day.
I let Hannah know I am more than happy to pay for the trial and services already completed but I wanted out of the contract for services not provided. Hannah refused to refund me.
I was so upset not only because I was out over 2k for the makeup I was paying but I needed to find a new makeup artist in less than 3 weeks. Along with the stress this caused me leading up the wedding when I should be enjoying the time, instead I had to scramble to find someone available.
I had to have my husband end up trying to resolve the issues because of the panic attack I had around the incident.
Hannah was incredibly inflexible, mocked my mental illiness and was near impossible to get a hold of to find any solution. She never owned up to the mistake and instead gaslit me into saying I was overreacting to the situation. Mind you she never refunded me for the services she didn’t provide.
I’m writing this specifically so no one/bride should have to deal with this leading up to their wedding day. There are plenty of other makeup artists out there who can better serve you. The hassle and stress this company caused leading up to my day is something that took away from the month of my wedding

Urbanist Weddings was the WORST vendor that I worked with for my wedding. Ultimately, it came down to me paying in full for two hair stylists months prior to my wedding, only to have to seek out the second stylist on my own 2 weeks before the event. (Talk about stressful!)
As I have attempted many times to reach Hannah in regards to the refund that I am owed after paying for two stylists and more service than I received, she will not respond and I am out hundreds of dollars.
Hannah (the owner) is nearly unreachable, as others have already explained at great lengths in their reviews. Her communication is terrible. She does not answer phone calls and will only occasionally respond via text.
Do not book this company even if you are desperate. You're better off saving yourself the stress and having a friend or a friend of a friend do your hair or makeup for your event.

Booking with Urbanista Weddings was the biggest mistake of my wedding planning. All the reviews are true. The communication is non-existent, she changed plans on me last minute, and she charges way too much for so little effort. I booked a year ago and was told I was working with Hannah and booked my trial run no problem. 2 weeks before my wedding day I had not heard from her and I had to reach out twice before I got an impersonal 3 word answer.

The worst part - 3 days before my wedding, I was sent an invite to a trial run with a second artist and no explanation. Unbelievably unprofessional. When I asked what was going on I was told the second artist canceled?? I had just learned I was working with this artist 30 minutes ago and now they’re not available? Another hour+ goes by and I was put with a third artist but she couldn’t accommodate my trial run time so I had to skip that. It was the most stressful couple of hours I have been through in the entire wedding planning process and I really didn’t expect anyone to show up at this point. I choose this vendor for the work I saw online so putting me with a random artist is not what I paid for and honestly I should have done it on my own because I didn’t look anything like I pictured. No bride should have to go through this stress.

I would NOT recommend Urbanista Weddings for hair and makeup on your wedding day or any day for that matter. Initially, Hannah was accommodating over the phone, but when it came down to actually providing services on my wedding day, I was extremely disappointed. I made sure upfront that Hannah knew I had 11 bridesmaids and that I would need more than one makeup/ hair artist on my wedding day. Hannah reassured me that she would have 2 other makeup/hair artists helping out and that everyone would be ready on time for the ceremony. Allison did our hair and makeup on my wedding day, which actually ended up being the best thing. On the day of my wedding, Allison showed up on time and immediately began doing 2 of my bridesmaid’s makeup/hair. Because of time, Allison then proceeded to do my hair and makeup. It was two hours before the ceremony and still 9 of my bridesmaids needed their hair and makeup done. Allison reassured us that at any time, Hannah and her other makeup artist would be showing up. Another 30 minutes went by and no sign of Hannah. The other 9 bridesmaids took matters into their own hands and began their hair/makeup because it appeared Hannah wasn’t going to show up anytime soon. Finally, an hour before the ceremony, Hannah and her assistant came bursting into the room, and by this time all but 2 of my bridesmaids were finished with their hair and makeup. Thank goodness most of my bridesmaids ended up doing their own hair and makeup because there is no way Hannah and her assistants would’ve been able to finish everyone in one hour! Come to find out Hannah was late because the bride before me was not satisfied with their work so she made Hannah redo her look which set them back! So the bottom line is: I would avoid working with Hannah- she is unorganized, unprofessional, and just plain rude. Hannah does not take any accountability for her actions, which you can see from her counterarguments here. She turns everything around on the customer (bride).

Awful experience. The communication at this company is minimal. Hannah Bush refuses to talk on the phone which means any issue takes forever to resolve. I was told three days before my wedding that my hairstyle wasn't feasible because I didn't have enough hair. I appreciated the honesty, but I would have appreciated even more t a month prior at my trial. The stress caused during my wedding week trying to coordinate another trial was awful and Hannah took forever to respond and solve the problem. I ended up canceling pre wedding family plans.

Then the stylists mixed up times on the day of the wedding and I wasn't ready on time. It was extremely stressful and I felt rushed through the process. I ended up being late for the first look.

I think Allison is very talented and does amazing work but dealing with Hannah is a pain and the lack of communication is not something any bride should experience.

I will keep this brief as thinking about it makes me furious and nauseous. Hannah was supposed to do hair and makeup for me, hair for my 4 bridesmaids, and hair and makeup for another friend in the wedding.

Hannah came late and forgot her combs and brushes. We repeatedly advised her of our timeline, but she kept saying she was running ahead of schedule. She was not. She ran so far over time that she was not able to do the look we had agreed on for me (the bride). She did a quicker version of the look that omitted certain elements. However, she apparently did not spray my hair enough as the look was ruined BEFORE the ceremony. The hairstyles on me and at least 2 out of my 4 bridesmaids were ruined BEFORE the ceremony. I wanted to cry. For my big moment and for a great number of the photos, my hair looked like crap! Additionally, she just ran out of time on the last girl to the point where my friend had to cut her off midway in order to leave and make it to the venue.

Overall, in addition to having hairstyles that did not survive until the ceremony, Hannah made me and my bridesmaids run OVER ONE HOUR behind schedule, despite repeated warnings about our timeline. This cost us one hour of reserved limousine time and also one hour of reserved photographer time – a total of $450. More than the money, the emotional trauma was the worst. As the bride, I was terribly anxious and furious and freaked out about the day’s schedule falling to pieces. My bridesmaids, my mom, and I were so stressed out that it was hard for us to unwind and enjoy the next few hours of the day leading up to the ceremony.

After the wedding, Hannah treated this issue very flippantly. She provided a slew of ludicrous excuses and she has not taken responsibility for her actions in a satisfactory way. She refunded me $100, which is a paltry sum considering: (1) the cost of the services she provided, which she was not able to complete to satisfaction and several of which did not last until the ceremony, (2) how much she cost us in terms of lost time with other vendors, and (3) the emotional stress for my mother, my friend, the 4 bridesmaids, and me – the bride.

To sum up, Hannah came very close to ruining my wedding day.

If you look at my other reviews, you’ll note that I usually give very positive reviews. So this extremely negative review is reflective of Hannah’s performance, not my general review style.
