    Easiest 5 stars ever.

    Our wedding day was absolutely magical, thanks to this incredible venue. The exposed brick walls and abundant natural light created the perfect backdrop for both our ceremony and reception—our photos are breathtaking. We loved that everything could happen in one place, from morning prep to the last dance. The getting-ready suites were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, making the entire day relaxed and seamless. The staff was attentive and easy to work with, keeping everything running smoothly so we could simply enjoy every moment. Truly the perfect venue for an unforgettable wedding—five stars without question!

    Perfect venue and awesome planner!

    The venue itself was beautiful. The ground floor and the second floor get tons of natural light, and the speakeasy on the bottom floor makes for a great cocktail hour or after party space. Our planner Allison was awesome and helped make the whole planning process a total breeze. We had a perfect wedding day and all the Union team was super professional and friendly, and were extremely helpful every step of the way up to and including the wedding. The 24 hour rental also made it so easy to enjoy the night and not worry about the cleanup that day at all.

    Highly recommend!!

    We had our wedding at UNION and I cannot recommend the venue and partial planning services more!!! Jessica, Allison, Addie, Shannon, Maddie (and others I know I'm forgetting) made our perfect day 10000x more perfect! All of the staff are SO great and work SO well together and it showed, because I don't think we had a single hiccup the whole day! All of our guests commented on how great the venue (and speakeasy) was and being able to have the venue for 24 hours is a life-saver!!

    February Wedding

    UNION was the perfect venue for our big day! Every aspect of the venue is beautiful and was exactly what we were looking for! Having multiple floors offered great flexibility in making the day seamless, and the speakeasy sold us immediately! When comparing to other venues, the 24-hour rental and BYOB were definite selling points. The Crossroads location was perfect for nearby activities and walkable hotels, and not to mention the breathtaking roof for skyline photos! The staff were easy to work with and walk through Wednesdays provided a go to day to have someone available for questions. I would recommend UNION to anyone!

    Perfect stormy wedding day!

    We had the most amazing experience hosting our wedding at UNION. On top of it just being a gorgeous space there were so many factors that really drew us to this venue – the location close to hotels and things to do downtown; the 24-hour rental period; the multi-floor layout (including a SUPER cool speakeasy for cocktail hour – our guests really loved this); the accessibility; the bridal suite and groomsmen get-ready area; there were just so many green flags it was easy to make the decision to book! We also loved the BYOB bar concept, as we had tons of out-of-town family and friends attending (about 90% of our guest list!) and were really wanting to feature our local breweries, distilleries, and wineries; this enabled us to do that where most venues downtown had pre-set bar packages. The rich brick of the building provided a great backdrop for all of our cozy details, and the farm tables tied in perfectly. UNION also made it super easy to rent a few last-minute items that we needed, like pipe and drape and cocktail tables/linens. They also gave us the option to rent a digital photobooth through them, which was super convenient and a lot of fun for our guests! It poured rain the day of our wedding so we didn’t get to utilize the rooftop for bride/groom photos, but had we been able to, we know it would have made for some awesome sunset backdrops.

    Allison, our client concierge, was super organized as we approached the day and made sure we knew any final details about insurance requirements, timelines for load-in and -out, security, and so forth. Clay, our bar manager, was very responsive to questions we had as we decided on our bar menu, and was able to provide helpful suggestions on quantities to buy and how to structure our bar timeline from start to finish. Everyone else we worked with throughout our planning period was friendly and helpful, from the venue managers to the staff present on the day of. Overall, we can’t imagine our wedding having been anywhere else – it was such a dreamy setting and the layout (being able to go between floors for each major portion of the event) was so perfect for the flow of the day.

    Simply Amazing!

    This was a dream venue! 3 floors to use, 24 hour rental and more. We worked with Madison (at UNION) as our coordinator and she was amazing! She made sure everything was taken care of on the big day and took the stress off of me and my family. Prior to the wedding she was receptive, great to communicate with and made me feel like everything was being taken care of! 100/10 recommend

    The perfect day at the perfect venue

    My husband and I had the PERFECT wedding day at Union. My husband and I had gotten so stressed with planning and figuring out last minute details, especially as out of town clients, but our client concierge Madison was AMAZING. She was so accessible and met with my husband and I over zoom and then in person the week of the wedding to go over details and offer some suggestions that we loved and took. She definitely worked hard, supported our visions for our day, and advocated for us as a few different complications came up. The team the day of was so awesome and made everything go so smoothly (shoutout Hayden for taking us to the rooftop for sunset pictures!!!)
    The space was the best for our wedding with the cocktail hour in the speakeasy following our ceremony, dinner on the second floor, dancing on the main floor, and an afterparty in the speakeasy. Several guests later told us that they loved that we had the dancing and music on a separate floor so other guests could chat upstairs.
    We also worked with Union's epic vendor The Russell. One of the other best choices that we would not have even considered without Union!
    12/10 recommend this venue. It is gorgeous and the team worked hard to help our visions come to life for our big day!!!

    Amazing Venue!!!

    We got married at UNION on NYE and it was absolutely PERFECT! The day was more than we ever could have imagined. The venue provides everything thing that you need with multiple levels so everything was able to be held at one location and not to mention the speakeasy bar which was incredible for our NYE after party. The bridal party was also able to get ready at the venue in the beautiful bridal suite which made the entire day so convenient especially with the 24 hour rental. Most of all the staff was AMAZING!! We couldn't have done it without Jessica and her team. She made the entire planning process so easy and smooth and they went above and beyond for us on our special day! I HIGHLY recommend the venue and their planning services because it seriously was the best day ever!

    Epic venue

    This venue is so unique and beautiful! We booked it because of the beautiful brick and wooden tables. We knew we would not need a ton of decorations since the venue itself was breathtaking. It has a speakeasy in the basement where we held our cocktail hour and we were able to take all of our pictures on the roof which has a wonderful view of the city! We love this venue because they have a list of vendors you could use or use your own! It was very flexible with what we were wanting! You also get the entire venue for 24 hours which makes everything less stressful! There is not need for rentals for chairs or tables and minimal table cloths are only needed if you utilize the plastic folding tables that also come with your package.
    The staff at UNION are so easy to work with and so kind! They are sure to stay on top of you with any documentation you are missing and also offer services such as planning and gathering insurance from all vendors. Theyreally just take care of you and ensure you night is memorable! Loved this venue so so much!

    best wedding ever!!

    My husband and I got married at Union on 8.21.21 and it was an absolute dream! If you are even remotely thinking about adding on full service coordination DO IT 👏 You will NOT regret it! Jessica and Ashtyn were amazing to work with, and we will definitely miss our monthly meetings. Wedding planning is so stressful but we always felt a million times better after our meetings with them.

    On the day of the wedding they were super heroes, I don’t know how they do it! I also don’t know how people pull off weddings without coordinators. Whether it was getting me a pre-ceremony beer to calm my nerves, making sure my husband and I were fed, and also running around the venue taking instax pics of everyone for our wedding guest book, they truly go above and beyond! Plus they also packed up all of our stuff and made it super easy for my parents to pick it all up the next day.

    Ashtyn and Jessica weren’t the only super heroes though, we also had an amazing experience with their beverage coordinator and the bar tenders that worked the night of the wedding. Every time I went up to the bar she asked “Okay and for your other hand?” 😂 It was truly a night we will never forget and it went off with no issues thanks to an amazing team of people. We’re so happy we had our wedding at Union!

    Best Day Ever

    I have nothing but great things to say about using Union as our wedding venue. We got married during COVID and Candice was truly fantastic. She helped make sure our day went smoothly, in both the planning process and on the day of. Her flexibility and communication is unmatched. The venue itself is simply stunning, and the multiple floors were a logistical dream. The rooftop pictures with the city in the background were beautiful, and the fact that we could come by the next morning to pick up any remaining items made the night of much less stressful for my family. Union was everything we could have wanted and more :)

    Incredible!!

    Cannot say enough incredible words about this place! Candice Smith and the entire staff was very helpful and professional. Sara and I had an incredible rooftop engagement and Candice was so helpful all night on every detail. Including the details for the reception we had in the speakeasy downstairs. 5 stars for the place, location, and people!

    We LOVED our wedding at UNION!

    The venue itself is beautiful and perfectly located in downtown KC! Having multiple floors to work with allowed our guests to space out as needed, and the ability to BYOV allowed us to pick exactly what we wanted when planning our wedding. We received so many glowing compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything was, and our wedding photos on the rooftop against the downtown KC skyline made us SO so happy. Overall, we highly recommend UNION!

    So Amazing!

    We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. The space itself is absolutely stunning, and having the freedom to choose all of our own vendors allowed us to truly personalize our day. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable throughout the entire process.

    Addie, our coordinator, was truly amazing. She was so detail-oriented and attentive with everything I provided her. Because of her and the wonderful staff, our wedding day went off without a hitch. I felt completely confident knowing everything was in such capable hands.

    The venue is beautiful, and my vision was brought together perfectly. I especially loved the speakeasy and having two separate spaces for the ceremony and reception. It made the day flow seamlessly and feel so special. I can’t recommend this venue enough!

    Beautiful Place!

    This venue is gorgeous! It is the perfect place if you are wanting a charming, industrial look. The location is great and every room in the venue is beautiful. The lighting in the main foyer adds just the right amount of glow for ceremonies! The groom room has a huge space for hanging out and relaxing. I do wish the bridal suite was a bit bigger, but there is still plenty of room to get ready! All of the staff are so nice and welcoming, especially Lindsey! You can tell they really care about you and want your experience to be special. Highly recommend!!

    Venue beautiful, staff not so much

    We booked 18 months out from our date virtually through videos sent by the rep at the time due to covid. She was amazing and was allowing needed adjustments for load in to be earlier than contracted.

    We finally got the chance to tour the space in person through their open house for booked clients on what they call, Walk Through Wednesday. The tours were very nice and we brought our other vendors with us pretty regularly (9 times to be exact) to address any measurements and layout concerns.

    All was good until our main contact person was let go and the staff that took over was not as nice nor understanding of the previous agreements made (that I had the date and time noted on), nor did they respect client privacy when a request for a staff change was made 6 months previous to our wedding- as that staff person contacted us right after the conversations with upper management happened. We then were hit with an additional $1800 fee for the bar (FYI its a separate charge from the venue rental) when we provided EVERYTHING minus ice, garnish and staff. We had no problem paying for staff, ice or service fees but when the ENTIRE bar is brought in down to straws and napkins, that's crazy given the staff on-site okayed this!! Oh don't forget the gratuity added BEFORE ANYONE has done a thing-it was stated "To get their night started off right" WHAT!?

    Fine, monies paid.

    Now the day of our wedding:
    1. Vendors not allowed in at agreed upon time of 8am, actually over an hour after (915am).
    2. Kept rooftop locked ENTIRE TIME even when photography staff inquired so we could get photos up there. They stated it wasn't on our photo list locations. Hmm the team with the cameras weren't enough to let you know we wanted up there BEFORE & DURING on at least 3 different occasions. Didn't get the photos in any capacity on the rooftop that pulled us to book the space in the first place.
    3. Secured bridal suite was beautiful WHEN WE COULD GET IN! Door consistently needed manual unlocking DURING my reception to the point that I missed markers in my timeline for the evening waiting for staff to come with the key 3 different times as the code didn't work.
    4. Bar staff intentionally and verbally told my party members specifically my groomsmen
    that they were set on overserving my guests.

    After the wedding we wanted to let them know of the issues we had so no other couple had to deal with what we did and to tighten up staff communication, notes when in-person conversations/agreements happen, technology issues and our lack of rooftop access.
    It took them over 2 weeks to reply only after my coordinator emailed their HR department. Stating it went to spam, hmm just barely a month after our date (we honeymooned for 23 days) only to blame me and my vendors for our concerns. There was 1 sorry for the suite issue and that was all unfortunately. 😔
    They allowed us to FINALLY shoot on the rooftop in our wedding wear but it's not the same photographer, Videographer, hair stylist or makeup artist as everyone on our original team was from out of state nor will it be the same weather as it was mid-November and not early September.
    We had a very nice wedding but these issues the day of and all the mess leading into it caused major hiccups in our day as both the ceremony and reception were held there.

    Document everything and everyone you talk to as they will fall back on their contract as a default and won't even give the client any benefit of the doubt that THEIR staff is making concessions on site outside of their contracts, as their head office is not in Kansas City.

    Watch Your Stuff

    Overall 2 out of 5 stars. The price was decent and having the venue for 24 hour is nice to have, but the event person representing the venue showed up 12 minutes late on the day of our event and no one answered the phone when we called to get in so we had no idea on when we would be able to get in. Don’t lock the bathroom doors because their bathroom doors lock you in the bathroom and you cannot get out. I, the groom, was locked in a bathroom and could not get out until we had to break the door. We told someone about the bathroom door, but they still have not done anything about it and we’re shocked again when we told them about 5 days later. And lock your stuff up in your vehicle because someone came into our venue on the day of our wedding and stole items from our wedding party. Their employees will stay in their back office the entire time and don’t pay a lot of attention to you during the day of your wedding. We would have picked another venue if we had the foresight of what would transpire on the day of our wedding.
