Created the Perfect Destination Wedding

Absolutely phenomenal! Our wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House in Maui, Hawaii, was nothing short of a dream come true, and it was all thanks to the incredible team at Tropical Maui Weddings, led by Lori and her husband Jamie.
From the very first consultation, Lori exuded warmth, professionalism, and a genuine passion for making our special day perfect. She took the time to understand our vision and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was meticulously planned and executed. Her expertise and local knowledge were invaluable, and they provided us with fantastic recommendations for vendors, decor, and unique touches that made our wedding truly unforgettable.
The Olowalu Plantation House was the perfect venue, and Lori’s coordination made it even more magical. The setting was breathtaking, with stunning ocean views, lush greenery, and a charming historic house that added a touch of elegance to our celebration. Hire Lori for your Maui wedding!!!

Lori is the most amazing wedding planner and it was so much fun to work with her! I highly, highly recommend her to any couple that knows what they want, or has no idea what they want.
Lori made planning our wedding planning really fun, stress free and everything turned out 1000x better than I thought was possible! She also has this amazing wedding decor collection that saved us a lot of $ on rentals and helped with design inspiration!
It was such a joy to work with her and her team and we are especially grateful for all of the last minute (day of) adjustments she made for our outdoor wedding when the wind picked up. She worked with our vendors to bring our vision to life in a different way in just a few hours (we had no clue this was happening!), and we loved absolutely everything!
It was the perfect day and Lori is just such a pro - she is prepared for any situation, knows who the best (and affordable) vendors are and gives you great advice on big and small decisions.
We are so glad that we chose to work with her and I honestly miss chatting with her and working with her already!!

Best wedding planners EVER

I would 1,000,000% recommend using Tropical Maui Weddings for so many reasons. Everyone that we worked with was fabulous, Sherron was absolutely amazing, and I can confidently say our day would not have been as special (or maybe wouldn't have happened!) without her. We had a whirlwind of a wedding story, and not one like your average because almost anything that could go wrong leading up to the big day - did. I'm sure Sherron can attest to the countless mishaps that happened to us along the way (nothing to do with Tropical Maui Weddings), but holy cow did Sherron step up and help us in so many ways. She made my husband and I feel like family, she put us at ease when something tragic happened to us the night before the wedding and she helped take the stress off of us the day of. She was up late with us the night before and was up early with us the morning of to make sure that everything went smoothly. Again, I could not sing higher praises for this team. Lori and her team are pros when it comes to helping you plan your special day and are experts when it comes to all things Maui. Not to mention, they are some of the most kind and genuine people you will ever meet.

We had our wedding on Maui in June of 2021 and are long overdue to write this glowing review for the TMW team.

When we decided to get married on Maui, the thought of planning a wedding from the mainland was a bit overwhelming and we didn’t know where to start. That is, until we met Lori! From securing our date, to selecting a venue, Tropical Maui Weddings made the process a breeze.

They put together a great proposal of vendors to choose from with reasonable prices for each. There are so many things you don’t think about when starting to plan a destination wedding and they had that covered too. They get preferred pricing with all of the top vendors so you are already saving money. Everything felt reasonable and they gave great advice on where we could save and where we could upgrade. Other wedding planners are all about the money and will give you a cookie cutter proposal, not TMW! They will put together a custom plan based on your idea for your special day. You quickly realize the cost of paying for TMW is 1000% worth it.

Lori and the team were super organized and helped keep us on track to make sure our wedding was planned well in advance. They were super communicative, and always responded back to us in a timely manner. When it comes to your wedding day you won’t have to worry about a thing if you hire TMW as your wedding planners! They make sure everything goes according to plan, that it all looks beautiful, and will go above and beyond to make your day special.

Our wedding was originally planned for June of 2020. Of course, that all changed with the onset of the pandemic. With all of the stress around having to move our wedding after sending invitations, and not knowing when things would go back to normal, the TMW team was there every step of the way. They worked with us to make sure that when our wedding was rescheduled, it would be the best day ever. Lori and team were comforting and made moving everything easy with so much patience along the way.

When our day finally came, it was truly perfect and couldn’t have been better! TMW exceeded our expectations and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We were able to be in the moment and enjoy every second of it! – This is so important because it goes by quick.

Lori, her husband Jamie, their daughters Sherron and Chloe, and the rest of their team were there cheering us on and making sure everything was perfect. Jamie is also an amazing musician who we had perform at our wedding along with the talented Derick Sebastian and our awesome DJ.

We can’t say enough about how special they made us feel and how perfect our wedding day was. We still receive so many compliments on our wedding from friends and family and this is all thanks to Tropical Maui Weddings!

Hiring TMW was truly the best decision we could have made. Do yourself a favor and hire Tropical Maui Weddings to plan your wedding day in Maui! You will feel like celebrities with this team behind you! It’s no wonder why they win so many awards!

Best day ever with TMW!

Having Sherron, Jamie, Lori and everyone at Tropical Maui Wedding help plan/ coordinate our wedding was the BEST decision we made for this entire wedding! They always went above and beyond every request and expectation we had.

We didn’t even get around to shop for different wedding planners because Sherron was just
that good! Being the first and only one we talked to and we knew already we didn’t need to look no further. We worked with Sherron for 2 1/2 years due to COVID but we never had a question or concern they couldn’t address. At each step of the way Sherron made sure it was in our best interest. She helped me narrow down my million mismatched ideas into a dream vision. Her response and problem solving skills were also lightening fast!

Hands down I would recommend any family and friends that are looking to get married in Maui to work with Tropical Maui Wedding. I can’t wait to plan my vow renewals with them!!!!

Get Maui'd with TMW!

I have always believed God places people in our lives at very specific times and for very specific reasons. He did this when he placed my husband, Justin, in my life over 4 years ago. He proved Himself again when he blessed me with Sherron, Lori and Jamie of Tropical Maui Weddings.

I was never the girl that put a lot of thought into my wedding years before it actually happened. Planning a Hawaiian wedding from Texas seemed completely overwhelming. Luckily, my mother came across the TMW website and was surprised to see a message written from her favorite author, Lavyrle Spencer. She is a close friend of the owners, Jamie & Lori Lawrence, and in the message describes Jamie's beautiful singing voice. Of course, my mother looked him up. She was so impressed she immediately sent me a link. I drove in tears as I listened to Jamie sing Bonnie Rait's "Feels Like Home". This song was perfect and I was immediately smitten. I filled out the online form as soon as I got home that Friday afternoon.

Sunday, I received a call from "Makawao, HI". I spent the next hour talking to what felt like a long lost friend. Her name was Lori Lawrence of TMW and our connection was immediate. I had spoken with other planners and always felt less than inspired. Lori understood where I was in life and eased every worry. I got off the phone that day and Justin asked who I had been talking to because he could have sworn it was a girlfriend from college.

By the end of July I had no less than 10 emails from Lori each with a different vendor category in the subject. The emails were filled with options, packages and pricing details for each. I love that Lori provided all the information without trying to sway my opinion. She allowed me to ask questions and would provide honest feedback. I knew with her many years of experience that she would never lead me down the wrong path. Our comfort with the decision to hire TMW was further solidified after traveling to meet the team in person. My mother and I bonded with them so much during that trip we felt as if we were leaving family upon our return to Texas.

The months leading up to the wedding are full of decisions, but Lori is with you every step of the way. We wanted the destination experience, but didn't want to forgo decorative touches that seemed impossible. Once again, Lori has that covered. She has a super secret room in her home that is FULL of frames, candles, signs, easels, place card holders, fans....etc. All of this is included in TMW services. It allows you to have a perfectly curated wedding that matches your personality. Leaving the coordination to anyone else would have caused me great stress, but knowing Lori was on the job allowed me to send some inspiration photos, reply to her emails and relax.

I can honestly say my biggest concern the week before the big day was what to pack for 2 weeks in HI and not the wedding itself. I had full confidence in the TMW team and they pulled off the most beautiful, special, fun-filled day. Jamie impressed everyone with his beautiful voice. Sherron and Lori made everything flow seamlessly. All Justin and I had to worry about was enjoying the time with our guests.

I've delayed writing this review because I wasn't quite sure how I could describe TMW in a way that conveyed how wonderful they are. If you are planning a Maui wedding, I beg you to consider TMW. They will create for you the most beautiful, stree-free Best Day Ever.

Best experience ever!

After deciding that a destination wedding was the right fit for my (now to be) husband and myself, we started to research wedding coordinators on the island. This was a must as I knew it would be a very difficult task to do on my own. Our first interview was with Lori Lawrence from Tropical Maui Weddings. After spending more than an hour with her on the phone (as we live in MN), we knew she was THE ONE for us! Her personality was radiant and she offered us a sense of ease as we moved forward with the wedding planning process.
Lori listened to our vision, and made sure that each detail was meticulously followed through. She offered guidance upon decision making, and because she lives on the island and works with many of the vendors on a weekly basis, was able to give us her opinion when needed. Lori kept our budget in mind the whole time, and was a GOD SEND! Upon meeting her in Hawaii, we knew then that we couldn’t have made our dream wedding come alive without her and the TROPICAL MAUI WEDDINGS team.
They truly treat your like family and made not only the wedding planning process a breeze, but the day itself. We are incredibly grateful to have met her and TMW. LOOK NO FURTHER! You’ve got the complete package here with TMW!

Incredible!! I would do it again in every lifetime

This was one of the best decisions I’ve EVER made in my life to have Lori plan my dream Maui wedding day!!! No question, this is who you must go with for your wedding if you want perfection, fantasy, magic, romance and love on your big day ❤️ It was such any easy breezy process planning every single little and big detail and my husband and I had the best time planning. I hear couples get stressed during planning and argue... well that was the furtherst thing from our experience and I credit that 100% percent to Tropical Maui Weddings and their process of planning. I had zero stress, I only look back with smiles and thankfulness in my heart. It was a wonderful year of going to the drawing board and having Lori and her team create the most epic day I may ever have! Even more, our wedding day was perfect!! Everything was perfect!! Don’t even bother looking anywhere else. No one can compare.

If you're looking for a destination wedding planner in Maui, HI, look no further! Everything was perfect, the day went seamlessly, my husband and I definitely had the "BEST DAY EVER"! Lori and her team at (Tropical Maui Weddings) helped with every little detail and more. I live in San Diego, CA so having an experienced team on my side based in Maui eased my worries. The whole Tropical Maui Wedding team went above and beyond our expectations. Our Venue at Olowalu plantation House was the perfect location with the most amazing sunset. The makeup artists, transportation, food, live music, DJ, etc. was more than we could have asked for and the vendors were all suggested by our planners. All the vendors stuck to the timeline and the night went on without any issues. I've already told my husband we are renewing our Vows in 10 years, in the same spot, with the same wedding planner and vendors. 10 Stars all the way! Aloha!

The easiest and best wedding planning decision!

If you are looking for a wedding planner in Maui, look no further!
The TMW team were amazing to work with since day one.
My initial call with Lori was all it took to know that she was genuine person with a passion for her career and the TMW team would be able to turn my dream wedding into reality!

We planned our wedding from San Diego in less than 9 months with their help and direction.
Wedding planning will always be stressful (especially if you're like me and really strive to perfect every detail and ensure your guests have the best time) but the TMW team will definitely ease that stress and guide you throughout the process. Her positivity and energy was amazing throughout - especially when a hurricane was set to hit the week of our wedding! She remained calm and collect which eased our anxiety tremendously!

Lori and Jamie went above and beyond our expectations and many guests commented on how smooth the day went. She has a storage unit that is every pinterest bride's dream (check out the corn hole we left)! We got married at a private residence in Olowalu and Jamie was kind enough to shuttle the bridal party to the venue from where we were getting ready. Not to mention Jamie managed the property my family was staying at as well as our wedding venue property. And, he was our singer for the cocktail hour! They are truly a wedding dream team and probably the best decision we made (aside from getting married)! Lori worked with us and our budget to ensure the day was exactly as we envisioned it. I have nothing but praises to sing about TMW and wish we could do it all over again!

This is a special thanks to Lori and her husband Jamie at Tropical Maui Weddings. They were the most genuine people I have ever met. They were organized, thoughtful, helpful, non- pushy professionals! Our wedding was relaxing and stress-free. They gifted my husband and I special lighting for our wedding because they felt it would make the ocean seem magical for an evening wedding, and it did! They also had a video drone at the wedding that was a wonderful surprise to my husband and I.
All my vendor options were presented very simply in organized emails which made my decisions making easy. We had just enough of the best options for vendors on the island. When we had questions about any of the vendors Lori gave me her true opinion which helped with the decision making. Lori has complete faith in everyone she recommends which puts your mind at ease. I had a few changes that needed to be made a few days before the wedding and Lori was cool as a cucumber and made them happen. Lori kept us on budget and was spot on with her quote.
We had a small issue with nature (bees) at the venue early in the day before the wedding and Lori and Olowalu got professionals out right away and took care of the issue.
Overall, planning was easy, Lori and Jamie are the sweetest and the wedding was everything I always dreamed of.

Thanks to Lori and Jamie, at Maui Tropical Weddings, my husband and I had a completely stress-free, incredibly spiritual, romantic and fun, perfect wedding, that was like something out of a story book!!!
My husband and I got married in Maui in July this year. It was like a dream wedding. I can't imagine any way in which our wedding could have been more special. Here we are, living in California. Neither one of us had ever been to Hawaii. I found Lori and Jamie on line, and read the reviews. Lori arranged everything. She was “boots on the ground” in Hawaii, and believe me, she knows everything there is to know about arranging a Hawaiian wedding that you will never, ever forget.
Not only did we have the perfect pastor and photographer, but Lori's husband Jamie sang at our wedding, and made it incredibly beautiful and memorable. He has the voice of an Angel. Seriously.
From the time we arrived in Maui, she had everything worked out as smooth as silk, with a complete itinerary and instructions on what we should do. We got our wedding license and even had my dress steamed and his suit pressed with instructions on how that should be carried out. Zero stress and nothing but fun and pure enjoyment.
Lori arranged a tailor made venue for us. We were married on a deserted beach (Ironwoods) as the sun was setting, and the sky was bright with color. We even had a rainbow over our heads as we said our vows. Lori found us the perfect restaurant within 5 minutes from the ceremony. This was one of the best days of our lives.
On top of all that, they work within your budget, and try to get you everything you want at a price you can afford. Tropical Maui weddings was worth every penny spent. We are so grateful to Jamie and Lori for their time and care spent to make our day flawless.
Look no further if you want a perfect Maui wedding experience!

WOW! Both my husband and I could not thank both Lori and Jamie enough for helping to create the most magical day of our lives. We are from NYC, and planning a destination wedding was very stressful given we have never been to Hawaii. However, from the first time I spoke with Lori she assured me everything would be perfect, and she was right!

We booked the wedding at Olowalu Plantation House. Lori was very attentive and helpful in guiding me to choose certain vendors. She would always respond in a timeline manner and make sure I knew I was being heard.

We then met with both Lori and Jamie 3 days before the wedding when we arrived on Maui. They were both so welcoming and made us feel so comfortable and confident with all of our choices. The Wedding day could not have been more perfect and went on without a hitch. All of the guests raved about everything from the food to the flowers and lounge furniture. My father runs a catering business in NJ, and from a critical eye, he was amazed at everything they did and thought the entire night was flawless. I could not be happier that I chose to work with Tropical Maui Weddings as they helped to create the best day in our lives that we will remember forever!

In short: If there is one vendor you book now, book Tropical Maui Weddings with Lori Lawrence. All the other reviews were right, Lori really did think of everything. She is very professional and has such a charming personality!

Long review:
Pre-wedding - We had about a handful of calls directly with Lori during our 5 months of planning and a gazillion of emails. Lori or her assistant, Jackie, was very responsive. We never feel neglected at any point. As our wedding was towards the end of summer in September, it seems that Lori was busy with other weddings so Jackie answered all of our emails. That was not an issue at all to us because Jackie was on point and when we arrive in Hawaii, Lori knew every single little detail that we've discussed with Jackie. For brides currently at this stage, don't be afraid at all, this happens because Lori gives you her full attention on your wedding and really takes care of everything.

Vendor relationship - Lori has wonderful relationship with all the vendors and that really shows during our wedding day where everything just went perfectly. Lori give us 3-5 choices for each wedding vendor (e.g., photographer) and was able to recommend who will fit our personality/style best. As skeptical San Franciscans, we were at first unsure because she had such strong recommendations on some of the vendors but decided to go with it because they're all within our budget - i have no regret at all.

Wedding week - Wow. Just wow, this is where Lori shines. From the day we landed to Hawaii to our wedding day to post-wedding, she gives us 5-star wedding planning service. My husband and I had so much free time before our wedding because she makes us feel at ease. On the day of our wedding, we had a wedding that can easily go on pinterest, everything is so beautiful all thanks to Lori. Our guests came up to us to complement Lori during and weeks after our wedding. Thank you Lori for helping us plan one of the most beautiful day of our lives.

Lori and Jamie Lawrence are awesome! Lori was so fast to respond to all my emails before the wedding. Then the day of the wedding she made sure everything went perfect. My husband and I can't thank Lori and Jamie enough for the wonderful job they did in planning our wedding! Having been to Maui several times before, my husband and I knew we wanted to get married there. We were fortunate enough to take a scouting trip to Maui about 7 months before our wedding and got to meet with Lori and Jamie beforehand. They were so helpful and Lori made several appointments for us while we were in Maui to do cake tastings, food tastings, venue appointments, and meeting with photographers etc. Throughout the planning process, Lori was always available to have a call or respond to an email whenever we had any questions. We arrived to Maui about 5 days before our wedding, and everyone kept asking me if I was nervous or stressed, but for the most part I wasn't. I felt like maybe I should be stressed out, but honestly I was pretty calm in the days leading up to the wedding. Lori took care of everything so I didn't have to worry about the details of the wedding day itself. And our wedding was absolutely beautiful! Lori did a wonderful job coordinating with all of our vendors and she really captured my vision even better than I could have imagined! The day really did go by in a blur, and my husband and I really got to just relax and have fun with our guests. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day, and I can't thank Lori enough for that! Also, we were very lucky to have her husband, Jamie, sing at our wedding. Everyone really loved this touch and said what a wonderful job he did. We ended up buying a few of his CDs that Jamie signed for us that we gave to our parents as a fun little memento from our wedding. I definitely recommend both Lori and Jamie for your wedding planning, they are definitely worth it!

I can't even begin to express my sincere appreciation for Lori and Jamie Lawrence of Tropical Maui weddings. My husband says that it was worth every penny, and I can assure you that it was.:)

We are from the Chicagoland area, so it would have been incredibly difficult to put everything together without some help directly in Maui, so I started my search. I noticed several rave reviews on Yelp for TMW, so I reached directly out to one of the brides who also had her wedding at Olowalu Plantation house, and she couldn't have had more wonderful things to say about her experience, so I took a leap of faith and contacted Lori, and I truly couldn't been more pleased with having made that decision. It turns out that she is a super organized ex-grade school teacher from the midwest turned wedding planner once she met the love of her life in Maui while on vacation. I'm pretty sure that her story alone sold me.:) But what also made a big difference to me is that she just charged a flat fee instead of being percentage based like I had heard that a lot of other coordinators were, and I felt a lot more comfortable with that scenario. After having spoken with us, she gave us a list of vendors that she's worked with in the past and has had success with, and we went from there. From the list we chose DJ Del, Louis Hiragana Floral Design,Kirsty Sinclair with Aloha Bars Maui, Sugar Beach Bake Shop, Jamie Lawrence, Cafe O'Lei Catering, Pastor Kale, Ohana Films, MeiLi Autumn Beauty, and Joanna Tano Photography. I truly could not be more pleased with each and every vendor that Lori recommended. Not to mention, all of the amazing things that she does to help out herself. She is there from the very beginning of the day until the end. She is truly amazing at what she does, and I cannot thank her enough for all of her support and guidance during such a special time in our lives.

Lori & Jamie are probably 2 of the nicest people we have ever met. It’s not easy planning a wedding from another country, especially when you are a control freak like I am. Lori was such a calming presence and so helpful along the way. She works with some incredible vendors and will listen to what you want and offer her suggestions on who would be best based on your budget and your vision. We met Lori and Jamie at their house a few days before the wedding and we knew as soon as we met them that we couldn’t have made a better selection for our wedding coordinator. She leant us a local iphone which was beyond helpful to have as Canadians having to pay crazy data roaming fees. She made sure we were completely prepared for the day, set us up to get our marriage license, and let us borrow some décor to make our wedding day that much more beautiful. She is a complete expert and has great ideas. She met us at our ceremony site the day before the wedding to pick out the ceremony location and make sure we knew exactly what was going to happen on the day. We couldn't have been happier with Lori and she truly added to our incredible day. Thank you Lori & Jamie for all that you did for us.

Lori was FANTASTIC! We loved working with her, she opened her home up to us every time we came to Maui to work on wedding details! We had a vision and she made it happen, it was a romantic seaside wedding! Lori was really good about listening to our ideas and was very open to trying new things. I can't even begin to describe the amazing work that Lori provided for me. Lori is the most wonderful planner ever! She was very attentive to my needs and budget. Lori was very honest and always responded to me when I had questions. She has great referrals for everything you could possible need ... and then some!! I loved working with Lori and her husband Jaime- they are my new "ohana" (family) in Maui! I was fortunate enough to meet with her 3 times before my big event and she was extremely hospitable. I had a wonderful experience with Lori & Jaime! Everyone asked how planning a wedding from the mainland was & I told them it was my planner who put it together! I really enjoyed doing the DIY side of things but she was in contact with the vendors, presented me with options, let us choose items from her storage and was always available to chat with if I had any questions.

When I initially contacted Lori, I was really just shopping around for a planner but she was so thorough on the phone during our first conversation that I knew we had to hire her! I worked for a wedding planner for years and was pretty particular about what I wanted for my big day as far as what it was going to look like and where we stood as budget was concerned. She is very responsive via e-mail and very patient with all my questions. We were in contact for a year and a half before the big day and the day went SO smoothly!! I knew I didn't have anything to worry about with her in charge... so I didn't! I would recommend Lori and Jaime to anyone headed to Maui for their big day =)

In looking for someone to help coordinate our wedding in Maui, we did what I am sure most couples do, search the internet. In doing so, we came across many different options. One of the things that caught our eye was their website – tropicalmauiweddings.com. It was very informative and user friendly. During our first telephone conversation with Lori Lawrence we knew we had found the right place to help with our wedding ceremony. Lori is very down to earth and by the time we finished our conversation with her, we felt like we had been talking to an old friend. She was so warm and personable.

We are a lesbian couple and were treated with the utmost of respect. We put all of trust in Tropical Maui Weddings and never once questioned their ideas, suggestions, etc. Lori and Jamie Lawrence do exceptional work and take care of so many details. They lessened the stress for us so we didn’t have to worry with all of the fine details. Jamie sang a couple of songs at our wedding and hearing his voice will just give you chills. Our Wedding was the most PERFECT day all thanks to Lori & Jamie from Tropical Maui Weddings.
We were married at Olowalu Plantation in April with 60+ of our nearest and dearest. The most incredible thing about Lori is that she and Donna from Olowalu literally saved our wedding. Our previous planner, cancelled our wedding with less then 3 months to the date. Lori planned our entire wedding in less than 3 months. She offered up many options for Hair/Makeup, rentals, flowers etc. with many different price ranges to choose from to suit our budget. She was NEVER pushy, she was bubbly, excited, very responsive to every single detail. She helped me think of things that I didn't even have time to think about, like dress steaming and offered for us to send things in the mail since we were overseas. She made the planning stress free and I always felt like I could rely on her. Jamie planned during our Ceremony and Cocktail hour and our guests raaaved about him! Lori recommends him, not because he's her husband...but because he is an amazing artist.
**The Extras***
When I arrived in Maui my soon to be husbands flight was delayed and I had no way of getting all our bags to the rental house. Jamie from Tropical Maui Wedding was close by and picked them up for us. How nice is that!?!? They then lent us a cell phone to use for the days up to the wedding. So we could get a hold of Lori and any of our guest, which was a huge help since we are from Australia and our phones weren't working. Finally, all the little details - vases, signs, fans, etc. That we couldn't bring from Australia, Lori and Jamie had rooms filled with many things that we borrowed to add the finishing touches to the day.

We loved them and I know you will to! So save yourself the trouble and go with Lori and Jamie. :)

How to choose a wedding planner when you live thousands of miles away? The entire voyage was truly a journey we were going to experience with the Lawerence’s. Although in the back of mind I always questioned myself is this the right person, does she really understand our budget, our vision of what we want, should we have traveled to Maui first to sample the wedding cake and food, meet her and Jamie (her husband who would sing at our wedding), meet the pastor that would marry us and the most importantly is the venue we chose what we want and does it resemble the picture. All we had to go by is Lori’s word. Well the day came we took the chance and flew in 2 days before the wedding. We met Lori the night we flew in at the venue our wedding and reception would take place and all my apprehensiveness vanished. I knew she heard what we wanted and helped us choose the right location. The wedding day came, long story short, the food, the caterers, the bar tenders, the setup of the wedding ceremony and reception was flawless. The perfect Maui sunset in the background during dinner was a bonus but what made it perfect was the sweet talented Jamie, singing our wedding song and dinner music makes your heart melt. In our eyes the wedding was perfect, exactly how we envisioned it. Lori truly is a professional that keeps your budget in mind, she is honest and attentive giving you advice and suggestions along the way, she understands your wants and needs guiding your every step of the way. We talked to many wedding planners and what helped make our decision was that we never felt like we were planning our wedding day with a business person but with a dear friend who listened, understood and was sensitive to our needs. Her compassion, knowledge and work ethic is unquestionable.

Lori and Jamie are the only reason my husband and I are married today. And this is no exaggeration. I was scheduled to be married on August 7th but unfortunately hurricane isaella made landfall that day. In the course of two days Lori and Jamie managed to complete reschedule my wedding to a day earlier. It is only because of their tireless work, fantastic relationships with other vendors and passion for giving people the weddings of their dreams that I was able to celebrate with all 59 of my friends and family on August 6th. While a hurricane is of course unavoidable and unpredictable, you can absolutely be confident that rain or shine Lori will do her absolute best for you. She was always available, able to incorporate requests easily and always professional. Jamie is fantastic and sang during cocktail hour- he has great taste in music and really helps to relax wedding guests and set the tone. This company is a great small business and is really there to make your destination wedding seamless. I feel the cost of their service was easily the smartest wedding purchase I made, and was if anything disproportionately small for the time and dedication Lori and Jamir give to each of their couples. This will be the best decision you make!

Lori and Jackie were our planners and there isn't enough I could ever say about them!! I'm convinced that Jackie works 24hrs a day 7 days a week!! There was no question or detail she didn't get back to us about asap!! Every detail and aspect of our wedding turned out absolutely perfectly!! There was actually nothing we would have changed and that's all due to their hard work. They were amazing at making different suggestions to suit our needs or wants, and providing many different options as far as venders and pricing options. Nothing was ever too much, even when I know I was being the annoying, way too involved bride!! They made us feel so special and so cared for, and it's very obvious that they really truly love what they do and genuinely wanted to make our day perfect for us!! I wish I was getting married again so I could work with them again! lol We'll honestly miss talking to them daily and planning our amazing and special day! We were married in Maui three months ago and our wedding was just PERFECT thanks to Tropical Maui Weddings. We had a really short, romantic and intimate ceremony on the beach in Makena, just before sunset. We are Italian and we made it all the way to Maui just to get married, only the two of us. Since we had no guests, the organization went fast and easy. Jackie Tanaka helped us choose the best vendors and she really thought of everything! She also invited us at her house to go through the ceremony and helped us get all the documents we needed (before and after the wedding). I instantly felt like I could rely on her for making it perfect, and now I’m so glad I did. It was more than perfect!!!

My wife and I got married in May at Sugarman Estate (Honua Kai Lani) in Maui, with around 60 guests. The whole event was fantastic and this was in no small part due to the incredible service provided by Tropical Maui Weddings. Lori Lawrence worked with us for months in advance to help us plan all the details, and she was a total pleasure to work with. Professional, reliable, knowledgeable and very friendly - we were extremely grateful and happy to have her on board, both for the planning process and for the wedding day. She was as hands-on as she needed to be, and it was very reassuring to know that she was there for us from start to finish. The peace of mind she provided, aside from the technical support, was invaluable. Her assistant, Jackie, was also great - very helpful and efficient.

We also hired Lori's husband, Jamie, to sing for us at the wedding, and he was absolutely terrific. A beautiful voice, and great musician - and a really nice guy. If you're looking for some wonderful musical accompaniment for your big day, look no further.

Lori has been doing this long enough that she's also fully connected with many of the other wedding vendors, and it was through her recommendations that we were able to hire the people we needed. For each vendor (e.g. caterer) she would provide a few options, and some background on price/quality/reputation of each one.

My partner Michael and I got married on Maui on 25 April 2014 with approximately 40 guests at a private estate. We live in Australia so getting a coordinator was essential as we had no idea how things worked in Hawaii. Tropical Maui Weddings EXCEEDED our expectations by a long shot!! Every vendor that Lori picked out was perfect. They were all laid back as we had requested. We couldn't believe how amazing the venue was (more beautiful than the pictures), how delicious the food was, how nice and thoughtful the bartender and staff were and how perfect the ceremony and reception were. I worked primarily with Lori and found her so easy to work with and never had any trouble getting quick turnaround on responses to queries. Also, I will vouch that Jamie's voice is outstanding and would recommend him. I would say that he sounds better live than on the recordings on his webpage - in case you weren't sure.

Thank you for such a great day. All of my guests are still raving about it and I will never forget it. I would recommend Tropical Maui Weddings in a heartbeat!!

Working with Tropical Maui Weddings was likely the single best decision we made for our wedding in Maui. Jackie, Lori & Jamie provided us with stellar service before, during and after our big day. They were so gracious and an absolute pleasure to work with.

We reached out after a friend recommended them and got a very quick response from Jackie. We were planning about a year in advance and had enough time to fly out and meet the TMW team. Jackie had set up multiple meetings with vendors, had our cake tasting lined up and even had a list of restaurants to try for catering. When we left we thought we had everything planned. WRONG! We must have changed our minds on various details a million times, but the TMW team never seemed to miss a beat. They were extremely understanding & really patient with us.

We were a bit nervous at first, as we were planning a same-sex wedding, and unfortunately it’s difficult to know in advance how certain businesses will react, but TMW and all the vendors they recommended were absolutely great. We actually loved working with their team so much we ended up hiring Lori to officiate our wedding, and Jamie to sing during our ceremony.

Planning a wedding, especially a destination wedding, can be stressful. Having Tropical Maui Wedding and all of their connections and vendors made it feel like we had a relative on the island; one who knew exactly what they were doing and how to get things done. The day was as stress free as possible. Not even the smallest detail was missed, the day was truly perfect, and if I didn't know better I would have thought they actually invited a large pod of whales that started breaching during our ceremony! Amazing.

We have one word to describe Tropical Maui Weddings: AMAZING. We were overwhelmed with the thought of planning a destination wedding; however, when we found Lori and Jamie Lawrence of Tropical Maui Weddings all of our stress went away. We were married at the Olowalu Plantation House in November and Troplical Maui Weddings is the perfect wedding planner to use for that venue. From the moment we began communicating with Lori we knew we had picked the right wedding planner. Lori and her assistant, Jackie, were unbelievable to work with: emails were answered promptly and telephone calls were returned and they really went above and beyond to answer questions and give suggestions. Our wedding day was extra special because of all of the work TMW put into it. Jamie and Lori were an absolute pleasure to work with. I was married at Olowalu Plantation House on October 20th. A Maui beach-side wedding had been a dream of mine since I was a child and the day turned out to be more than I had hoped for. I've had many guests tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to or will ever go to. I have no doubt that was due to all of Lori and Jackie's hard work and Jamie's heavenly voice. Jamie sang during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was absolutely amazing! Lori kept things running smoothly the entire day. She felt like a friend instead of our wedding planner. We hadn't met in person until a few days before the wedding and she made all the long-distance planning easy and stress-free. The vendors she recommended were all wonderful and worked so well together. There is not one thing I would change about the whole experience!

Tropical Maui Weddings are amazing. I was going to Maui already for the wedding of friends, and became engaged four days before leaving for Maui. My husband, then fiancé, and I decided to get married later in the week, after our friends, while we were all still on Maui. Tropical Maui Weddings was the wedding planner my friends were using. They were so happy with Lori and the team, and immediately referred us when I told them our happy news and plans to wed in Maui as well. Lori is so wonderful. She thought the idea of an impromptu wedding was romantic, not hectic. Planning was stress free. Lori arranged the pastor, beach permit, the most stunning beach location I could ever imagine, and much more. I trusted Lori completely and because I did, we had the most amazing morning beach ceremony and breakfast reception. She ensured we had the wedding of our dreams, despite the short notice and tight budget. Thanks to Tropical Maui Weddings I have experienced two beautiful Maui weddings, my friends' and mine, both of which were unique, fun and fantastic. Mahalo!

Lori, Jamie, and Jackie at Tropical Maui Weddings were amazing to work with for our wedding. I would recommend them to anyone getting married on Maui. We live on Oahu and they made the planning process so easy even though we weren't on island. They helped us plan our perfect day and we couldn't be happier. Everything went so smoothly and all our guests commented on how awesome our wedding planner was. We got married at Honua Kai Lani and my bridesmaids, mom, grandmother and I were able to arrive in the morning and relax and all get manicures while Lori coordinated all the vendors and decorating. She made everything so easy for us and stress-free and really took over the planning process. It was wonderful. She helped us select the best vendors for us and was always available to answer my many questions. Jamie played the guitar and sang beautifully at our ceremony. He has such an amazing voice. We booked Lori pretty early on in the process and she is such a lovely person. We were able to meet her in person on our scouting trip and then again in the week before the wedding. She did an amazing job in the lead up to the wedding and again on the day - it was so good not having to worry about anything on the day or the timing of everything. She made everything as stressfree as possible. Also I definitely had moments of indecisiveness all the way through the planning and she was really accommodating and never irritated with me for all the changes which was pretty impressive because there were moments when I was annoying myself! She also coordinates lots and lots of weddings at Olowalu so she has lots of suggestions for set-ups etc. Strongly recommended!!!!

In March of 2010, I got engaged with my boyfriend of seven years, within 6 months we had to plan and execute a large Indian reception, an Indian ceremony in NY and a 150 person wedding and reception in Maui. To be honest, I was not looking forward to the stress of planning three different occasions in various different states, so obviously, we knew we needed help. So, I enlisted the support of Lori Lawrence, from Tropical Maui Weddings for our Hawaii wedding. Jackie Tanaka was assigned to be my Wedding Coordinator and for the next six months Jackie and I worked together remotely between NY and Maui. The goal was to plan a simple Hawaiian style wedding with a NYC flare. We did everything from NYC through Jackie- music, band, hula troupe, venue, cakes, floral, decor etc.. I have to say that planning a wedding like this was no easy task, and Jackie did all the hard work. I estimate that over the six months, at least 1 thousand emails and countless calls were made to each other. Jackie did the pricing, made the calls, got the vendors, promptly emailed me with updates, recommended ideas that fit my style and was completely willing to allow me to bring in my own vendors. She even had the foresight to schedule a person to steam my dress when we brought it from NY- which was something that had not even occurred to me!

Since I had dealt with two different wedding planners, one in NY and one in Maui, I can now say that I have a good sense of what a good planner can do, and Jackie was the best! She gently guided me in areas I was unfamiliar with and yet made sure that my vision of my wedding came through perfectly. When the day came and I walked into my wedding, my eyes teared up because it was such a shock that 6 months of planning with Jackie gave me exactly what I wanted! (that never happens to me!!!) My husband and I cannot say enough about Jackie Tanaka, she has an exceptional personality, she is very organized, polite and patient. Most importantly, she was perceptive enough to be able to pin my tastes down very quickly, to the point that towards the end, I just let her make some of the decisions because I knew she would choose the right one for me.

Tropical Maui Weddings is a great company, one of the advantages we found with working with them, was that we also didn't have to get bogged down in contracts, separate billing and deposits because it is routed through Tropical Maui Weddings. So we only had to pay one bill at the end. Tropical Maui Weddings has a great future and Jackie Tanaka has our complete respect and admiration for all her hard work and dedication- Mitch and I sincerely thank her for making our wedding day wonderful. OUTSTANDING VENDOR!!! The wedding planner that I had was named Jackie Tanaka and she was excellent! A Tropical Maui Weddings is an excellent company that works with you based on your wedding coordination needs. I only wanted a coordinator for the day of my wedding, and I got to work with Jackie, which was great. She went above and beyond her duties as a day of coordinator. She made me feel stress free on my big day, and took care of everything for me. I highly recommend her and a tropical Maui weddings for any bride looking for a wedding coordinator on Maui.

I can not say enough about Lori! She helped me plan the most amazing destination wedding. I put all trust in her to get my flowers, cake, officiant, location and photographer. I have NO complaints! We don't know how to begin to thank you for all you have done to make our Maui wedding day exactly what it turned out to be; beautiful and memorable. Having Lori there to help coordinate everything from the location of the reception, to helping us with the marriage license. Living in Minnesota and trying to plan a wedding in Maui was not an easy task but Lori was always there to help answer any questions I had, and always emailed me back right away. We also wanted to say thank you to Lori for officiating our wedding. We asked you last minute and you responded that you would be honored to do it!

Jamie, your voice is like no other and you singing at our wedding and reception was so wonderful! We couldn't believe that someone with your talents was willing and able to be there just for us. Our guests loved your smooth voice and music so very much. We are still getting compliments on how beautiful the wedding and reception were. Thank you to Lori, Jamie, Ann and Jackie! We had an amazing wedding because of everyone from Tropical Maui Weddings. Planning a wedding from SoCal wasn't going to be easy and I knew I needed the right person to help us. Just from our first phone mtg with Lori, I knew we made the right decision. Lori = Aloha spirit. She reminds me of all the reasons why we love Hawaii and the ppl from there.

Lori is very organized and she completely thinks of everything and anything. Do keep in my mind if your wedding isn't around the next week or two her communication is slightly delayed because she's focusing on the brides whose weddings are current. I completely understand that.

Her process is very streamlined and she gives you reign on all of the decisions. For every vendor i.e. Photography, video, DJ etc she gave us more than enough options ranging from low end to high end. She did have recommendations based on our style and taste. There was never any she tried to push. I think we chose some of the very best for us!

Oh and Lori's storage is full of everything wedding! Such a perk and very convenient for us to be able to freely use anything we wanted for our wedding. It helped lots esp having a destination wedding. Saved us from having to bring a lot of stuff.

I remember the day of the wedding we were getting ready to make our way to the church after taking our prewedding photos. Lori looks at me and says that I look so relaxed. In that moment I really was relaxed because I had full confidence and trust in Lori that she was going to make our wedding a dream come true. Everything went so smooth, flow from events, weather, ambiance, decor, food, even whales were in attendance waved hello and one even breached! It definitely felt like a dream come true! If you're looking for an organized, warm, aloha spirited planner, look no further. Lori and her team are it! You won't regret it.

Lori and Jamie were wonderful! Lori is so sweet and really pays attention to detail. We had Tropical Maui Weddings plan our ceremony (our dinner we handled ourselves along with our hotel wedding coordinator). Since we were doing a destination wedding and traveling from Las Vegas, she had to learn what I liked style-wise from phone calls and emails. She learned my taste quickly and provided options and insight into what she thought I would like. Although we did end up spending a lot more than initially planned, it was worth it and we got our dream wedding. She also was great when I changed my mind on a few details such as arch and chairs two days before the wedding (after seeing another one set up during our walk through of the site).

As for our music, Jamie, is so talented! He played the guitar and sang at our ceremony and it was amazing! I would highly recommend them when planning a wedding on Maui.

Lori of Tropical Maui Weddings was a joy to work with! After our first email and phone conversation, I immediately felt at ease with her. And since we were planning our wedding from the mainland and would not be able to visit Maui before our trip for the wedding, we really needed someone we could trust to set up the wedding of our dreams! My only criticism is that sometimes emails don't get responded to very quickly (though sometimes I could have been accused of the same!) and considering we started communicating over one year before the wedding, there was plenty of time to get everything in order. She did seem to sense when I was a bit panicky and would respond to those ones quickly! And in my opinion the fact that she is a busy wedding planner bodes well that she is good at what she does! And come the day of our wedding she was superb! She made sure everything was just as I wanted it, and she remained so calm even with the threat of rain, and possibly having to move the set up to the backup rain plan! Thankfully the rain passed with enough time that the original plan was still a go. She kept everything running so smoothly, and yet I barely noticed her there! She made my dream wedding come true all without ever meeting her until a few days before the wedding! We also used her husband Jamie as our musician for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner music. He is so easy to listen to, and other than a few special requests we just let him decide on the rest of the set list and he was able to read our guests well. Everyone loved the music! He even learned a new song that my Mom wanted to perform at our wedding and accompanied her, that meant the world to us!

Laurie and her team do an excellent job at what they do. They know the vendors, the venue and the details that make a wedding happen stress free. I am in event planning professionally but knew I would need a local coordinator to ensure a seamless day. Laurie is professional and an incredible service for value. The only comment is sometimes it takes a while to hear back via email (any phone calls were prompt, however!) but this is just the Maui time versus my OCD response rate and didn't affect the quality of service at all!

Lori and Jamie at Tropical Maui Weddings were amazing to work with. They helped us plan our perfect day and as the bride, I was able to show up at our venue and relax and get ready while Lori coordinated all the vendors and decorating. She arranged our marriage certificate appointment and found Pastor Laki, who made our ceremony the most beautiful one many of our guests had attended. She helped us select awesome vendors and made sure we knew the pros and cons of various vendors. Our wedding was perfect and stress-free because of Lori and Jamie. Jamie's played the guitar and sang beautifully at our ceremony and reception. I feel like Lori is a good friend and she would spend hours talking to me on the phone and responded to my text messages at all hours during the days leading up to the wedding. I was able to stay calm and enjoy our time in Maui with family and friends knowing that Lori had all the details covered. I would highly recommend Tropical Maui Weddings to anyone planning a wedding in Maui.

I worked with Lori Lawerence of Tropical Maui Weddings. She is an absolute delight and runs the whole day like a well oiled machine. I have to say it was best money we spent as the day of there was no stress. I put one less star for responsiveness as it really isn't until maybe 2 months before the wedding that her and the team start to run down every detail and respond ASAP to every email from you. But, I guess that makes sense as they do a ton of weddings and everything doesn't really come together until close to the big day anyway. She thinks of everything and truly feels like a friend after the whole experience!

Lori and Jamie are absolutely amazing! I sent hundreds of e-mails asking questions and making plans for my wedding day. Each little detail I wanted was documented by them and I can honestly say I couldn't have had my dream wedding without them. They took care of everything and reminded me of things that I might have forgotten! The day we got married (at Olowalu Plantation House) it stormed so badly that we all had to run for cover on the expansive deck. My wedding guests didn't care about getting wet that much so we carried on with the wedding in the pouring rain! Lori stuck it out until the very end to make sure everything went smoothly. She definitely gives it 110%

Lori and Jackie were so easy to work with- they made our day stress-free! Good value for all the services they provided and both are very friendly. My rehearsal wasn't scheduled until last minute, which started to get me worried, but it all worked out. They would send me vendor options (eg for florist, limo companies etc), but I was able to find better deals and options myself sometimes. I was able to book whoever I wanted though and pay through TMW. It made everything very easy! We also hired Lori's husband, Jamie, to be our musician at ceremony and reception- wow he was incredible! Not cheap, but really made the ambiance of the night. Lori was not always quick to respond, but Jackie was on top of things 95% of the time. I would recommend TMW!

overall the service and professionalism was very pleasing. The wedding was perfect, the venue we selected was exactly what we had wanted and the added touches that Lori provided really made the day seem like a dream come true. This wedding planner was very helpful until I used a photographer who she didn't want me to use (even though he's on her website, which is odd). After I booked the photographer (I don't know that this was why, but the timing was odd), she was hard to get in touch with, and she would take forever to respond to me. For example, I asked her for a quote on a shuttle in March of last year. She finally gave me a quote at the end of September! I went almost all summer without hearing from her at all. I even started to wonder if she was still doing my wedding.

The day of the wedding, my makeup artist didn't show up. Well, come to find out, she was never hired by the wedding planner. She hadn't wanted me to use this makeup artist from the beginning, but I was adamant that I use her. Guess who ended up doing my makeup? The person the wedding planner wanted me to use. Convenient, huh?

I shed many tears from being stressed out, and ironically enough, the person who was supposed to ease my stress (wedding planner) was the one who caused the tears in the first place. Please don't use this person. I know she has many great reviews, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. I felt like I was fighting an uphill battle with her. It was beyond ridiculous. BTW, the photographer was fabulous!! The makeup artist was not. I loved the florist she recommended. Her husband was our singer, and he was wonderful! It's hard to plan a wedding when you're thousands of miles away, but this is still a business. She just didn't act like she was running one.
