The most beautiful wedding day ever

Words can't express how much the Westin out did themselves. Tia, our wedding coordinator was phenomenal. I highly recommend this venue to get married at

    A Wonderful Experience

Hosting our wedding at the Georgetown Westin was a dream come true. I can't say enough how positive our experience was, particularly in the midst of COVID. We ended up pushing our planned 2020 event to 2021 and they were gracious, communicative, and hands-on every step of the way.

We loved that they were a one stop shop for many of our needs; our guests stayed there, we got ready there, our ceremony was in the courtyard and the party inside the beautiful, airy ballroom. Linens, tables, chairs, food, drink, etc: everything was included and the pricing model was transparent and extremely customizable. At no point did we feel nickel-and-dimed, nor were we pressured to spend more than we were comfortable. The event director Tia personally handled our wedding from our initial postponement through to our goodbye breakfast and was always kind, responsive, and informative.

The space is beautiful with lots of natural light, lovely wood floors, and high ceilings. Our guests raved about the food, and loved the convenience of staying at the Westin while they explored D.C.

I would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a DC city wedding!

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

It was a true pleasure for us to host your special day. Wishing you and Sam a lifetime of happiness together.

Forget fairytales, the Westin Georgetown is a dream wedding venue

From our first call, to our introduction and walk through with Tia Ward, the Director of Event Planning and Operations, and everything since then, we never doubted for a moment that we had the best person for our wedding. Her mix of approachability, kindness with impeccable professionalism is truly remarkable, and something we really value.

Tia and her team helped us plan and experience a truly beautiful, meaningful, and fun wedding in a month and half! The food and beverage options were on point. Everyone we heard from enjoyed their entree and loved the venue as much as we did.

Merci encore! You helped us create an evening of magic.

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure working with you and helping you create such a magical day.

Wonderful Wedding, Great Service and Location

We had a wonderful experience at the Georgetown Westin with Tia Ward. Tia and the Westin was amazing and made our wedding something very special! Despite the challenges of Covid and last-minute changes and weather, Tia and the Westin rolled with it, were flexible, and made the wedding amazing and fantastic. The space is beautiful, with the inner/outdoor courtyard, promenade, and ballroom. We had planned to use the courtyard and promenade, but due to unexpected weather, Tia and the Westin were able to move us to the ballroom and promenade combo at the last-minute. Luckily, Tia had prepared extensively, even for the unlikely eventuality of drastic weather changes.

The Westin Georgetown is a beautiful, perfect location in West End. Staff were incredibly helpful and nice. And most of all, Tia Ward, director of events, helped us out at every moment to make it the event of our dreams, even with special requests and last-minute changes. Everything went better than we could have possibly expected, despite covid-related challenges and special needs. We could not have been happier, thanks Tia and the Westin!!

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

    Thank you Jonathan.

It was a pleasure working with you and Ariel. We are thrilled that we got to play a part in your special day. The entire Westin Georgetown team wishes you a long and happy life together.

Great Day, Great Service, Great Wedding

The Westin Georgetown provided us great service for our wedding. They were responsive throughout the process, we had great food, and they very easy to work with. Along with that, the courtyard for the ceremony and the room for the reception was great. All of this was done at an excellent price. I highly recommend them.

SO glad we picked the Westin Georgetown!

My fiancé and I are both so glad that we had our wedding at the Westin Georgetown! We visited many other venues nearby but immediately fell in love with how beautiful the Westin Georgetown was when we first visited!

We worked with Rebecca who’s our planner/coordinator - she was very friendly, flexible, and responsive! Every time we visited the venue, the entire staff was friendly as well! It was so nice to be able to host our ceremony, cocktail hour & reception all at one place (bonus: they only do one wedding per night so you get their full service/attention!); it’s also convenient for our out of town guests to be able to stay at the hotel, not to mention it’s in such a great location for guests to enjoy the city!

It was incredibly helpful that the wedding package took care of many aspects of the planning from wedding cake, cake stand, to even table numbers/linens so we didn’t have to worry about them. There are also tons of restaurants nearby which makes it easy to plan rehearsal dinner the night before.

If you’re looking for a stress-free wedding planning process, I’d highly recommend the Westin Georgetown :)

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

Thank you so much for the wonderful review Jennifer!! It was truly spectacular working with you! So delighted we could be apart of your special day.

Amazing hidden gem of a venue!

The Westin has one of the few (or maybe the only) hotel ballrooms with hardwood floors in DC instead of conference room carpet and retractable walls. We looked at much more expensive venues (Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, St Regis) and the reception space at the Westin was far and away the prettiest. The others didn’t even compare. The Westin has beautiful hardwood floors, marble columns, and amazing floor to ceiling windows to the courtyard (which is also beautiful). The staff was easy to work with and was super responsive to any questions. We worked with Rebecca and she made our lives so much easier so we could enjoy our big day without worries. Hotels have the added benefit of being mostly all inclusive, which makes planning and budgeting easier than if you have a raw event space — and far less stressful as the bride. We loved the Westin and can’t believe we didn’t know this space existed!

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

Thank you so much Anna for taking the time to write this review! We appreciate having you as a Westin bride!!

Classic venue that makes planning simple

We loved holding our wedding at the Westin Georgetown. We worked with Rebecca, who quickly answered all our questions leading up to our May wedding and was also our point person for the day of. Thanks to her, the entire day went off without a hitch. When it started pouring during our outdoor ceremony, the staff at the Westin had umbrellas out to our guests within minutes. Beyond the event staff, the hotel staff was lovely as well. The valet helped us load our car up the morning after the wedding which was an unexpected but very much appreciated touch. We were also able to leave decorations in a side room to pick up the next day, allowing us to head to our room stress free once our reception was over. The space is absolutely beautiful. From the ceremony in the beautiful courtyard to the reception in the elegant Promenade with its tall columns, we loved saying "I do" at the Westin. The presidential suite was also perfect for getting ready with my bridesmaids and the natural light from the large windows led to beautiful photos in the bridal suite. Ultimately, we wanted to get married at a hotel because it makes the logistics so much easier. We also got so much included with our venue, making the Westin a great value. Our choice of tablecloths, napkins and chargers, as well as candles on the tables, floating candles down the staircase, the cake platter, cake serving set and card box were all provided by the Westin, making planning so much easier. On top of that, the food is amazing. I can 100% recommend the Westin if you are looking for an elegant hotel that makes planning easy!

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

Thank you so much Jacqueline!! It was a pleasure hosting your special day! We are so elated you were able to enjoy a flawless wedding.

    Outstanding Venue

We weren’t even considering hotels at first but boy am I glad we ended up at the Westin. They made our day so easy and so lovely-even our guests couldn’t stop commenting on the level of service. I still can’t believe what VALUE we received for what we paid. I’ve lived in DC for six years now and have not experienced this level of consistent, outstanding, KIND service from the moment we checked in to resolution of a few small issues at the end of our event/stay. Special shout out to Vanessa (pre-booking) and Rebecca (post-cooking) for their help in making our day perfect. Pro tip: ask for the presidential suite-if it’s available I promise you, you’ve found your perfect venue!

So happy we picked this venue

We picked this venue without seeing it in person (we were currently living in Texas) and are SO happy with how everything turned out!

The venue itself is beautiful and we used the courtyard for the ceremony. At first we didn't want a hotel wedding but this venue did not feel like a hotel at all (others we saw were small, had low ceilings, and ugly carpet). The courtyard was so beautiful (we did add some decor but it really didn't need it!) and the ballroom was gorgeous with tall ceilings and a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Tia was AMAZING to work with and was really the key to everything going perfectly. She was extremely professional and responsive throughout the entire process. She worked with us to help make our wedding unique and everything that we wanted, and made sure everything ran smoothly.

From the planning stage and all the way through the wedding weekend, The Westin and its staff were always available to answer questions and offer assistance. or ideas. The ceremony in the Washington Ballroom, followed by the reception in the Promenade Room were both great venues and looked beautiful and elegant. The food and service were outstanding. I received many compliments on the meals we chose to serve our guests. The wedding weekend was more than I could have ever hoped for.
The front desk staff were wonderful checking in the guests and making sure they received a welcome bag. Thanks go to Tia, Holly, Josephine , and Rebecca for making sure the bride and groom had a wedding they will never forget. I am so happy that I was able to give the newlyweds such a memorable wedding.

Everything was fantastic with our wedding at the Westin. The staff was so easy to work with and very accommodating as we had to make a few last minute adjustments. The food was great, venue was gorgeous, and we couldn't be happier with how the day turned out. Tia was the best and was in constant contact with us as the big day got closer to make sure every detail was addressed. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this venue and their team.

Our daughter’s wedding reception was absolutely perfect, thanks to the staff at the Weston, led by Tia. There was no question she could not answer, and no problem that got any other response from her than”I will fix I‎t!” The venue was seamless from start to finish. On Sunday we sponsored a breakfast for our guests, and thanks to Han, our head server, that also was done perfectly and all guests were very complimentary.

The Westin Georgetown was the PERFECT vendor for our wedding. We got married in May 2017 and everything went flawlessly. We worked with Lauren Guffy as the Westin event coordinator and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was extremely responsive to our endless questions - always had a positive attitude and got back to us quickly and timely. We sent her flowers after the wedding was over because we were THAT happy with her. The outdoor courtyard with the fountain was perfect for the reception to make everything feel intimate and romantic. The food provided by the Westin was amazing as well. All tables, chairs, linens and some basic decorations including candles are covered when using the venue which for us, made life so much easier and made it one less thing to worry about or plan. If you are considering the Westin Georgetown I highly recommend that you check out the venue. They made our wedding perfect!

We absolutely loved hosting our wedding at the Westin this past weekend. Noelle was such a pleasure to work with (as was Allison and the rest of the crew!) and we felt like we had the absolute dream day because of their professionalism and responsiveness. We were supposed to have the ceremony in the courtyard, but due to rain, we ended up having it indoors in the "back up space" -- I put back up in quotes, because it's really not a back up space at all, It's a gorgeous room that ended up being even more perfect than the courtyard. Our guests could not stop raving about the quality of the food (both appetizers at the cocktail hour and the reception food) and the bartenders were great about serving our signature cocktails along with anything else folks wanted. One other quick anecdote to illustrate our experience: we had made welcome bags for the front desk to pass out when people checked in, and it wasn't until we arrived on Thursday to drop things off that I realized we had forgotten to put the water bottles in the bags. I was going to set up camp right there to put a bottle in every bag, but Allison + team waved me off and put them in bags themselves. It was truly a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture and I was so appreciative of their generosity and willingness to put in some time to make my whole weekend easier. Would recommend the Westin in a heartbeat to anyone!

This venue had everything I was looking for, and then our big day came and was absolutely unforgettable in the best way. Noelle and the rest of her team at the Westin went above and beyond to give us an amazing wedding. We were pleasantly surprised. Noelle was there throughout the entire planning process and she was there for us throughout the entire wedding day, from start to finish.

Amazing! So much fun and professional

    SPACE:
The promenade room is so unique! It has floor to ceiling windows (hello, natural light!) and a Courtyard which was the most ethereal spot for our outdoor ceremony as well as a charming cocktail hour space.

    CATERING:
The chef wrote a menu inspired by our heritage and it was delicious! For the bar, they asked what would feel more "us" so we got our fav whiskey & beer. This made for an extra special touch. It's too bad they couldn't include special cocktails (mojitos, etc) at the regular price but it was an upgrade option.

    HOTEL:
After checking in, the front desk mgr walked us to the suite which was AMAZING by the way! A total gem in the city!

The lobby bar was not as "on top of things" but we ended up moving the rehearsal party across the street.

I cannot say enough about the Westin Georegtown. This is truly a stunning venue and the service was amazing. Working with the A-team there, Noelle, Alicia, Megan and Chelsea made my wedding a perfect day, a fabulous event. they were responsive throughout the planning process, worked well with my other vendors and my family. The reception room looked gorgeous, the hotel rooms were clean and lovely, the honeymoon suite is so cool! They supplied a brunch the following morning that was spot on as well. All of the team members there - from the guys at the door at the front, to the receptionists and waiters and room service and cleaning staff are rock stars. I highly recommend you check this venue out!

Everything about our ceremony and reception at Westin Georgetown was perfect! Our event planner was super responsive and made the whole process easy and stress-free. The cake is included in the price and we used Nikki from Sweet Ladies' Bakery - and were so happy with the result. The cake was beautiful and tasted even better than it looked. The front desk was so on top of their game - we had almost 60 rooms booked at the hotel and they were great at accommodating everyones requests and were happy to hand out our welcome bags to our guests. On the day of the wedding, everyone at the hotel was willing to help out to make it great, and the servers at the reception went above and beyond to make sure that not only my husband and I were happy, but that all our guests had anything they needed. I couldn't find anything to complain about with their service and the wedding as a whole.

The Westin Georgetown was the perfect place for our wedding. We wanted a DC experience for our mostly out of town guest list, but with a relaxing feel. The Courtyard and Promenade are amazing spaces in the midst of same-old DC hotel ballrooms. The service for our entire weekend was outstanding and the best part of a wedding package at the Westin is that you get a contact at the hotel who is essentially a personal wedding planner. Our coordinator was Elise Kolle and she is outstanding. We highly recommend the Westin Georgetown.

We had our wedding ceremony (in the courtyard) and reception (in the Promenade) at the Westin Georgetown and it was the greatest decision we've made. I HIGHLY recommend it. To name a few things:

    1. Elise Kolle the wedding coordinator is a ROCK STAR. She was so kind, responsive, professional, organized, and responsive... she made the process a breeze.
    2. The venu was clean and beautiful - they were so flexible with our wishes. I love this place because the ballroom has hardwood floors and giant pillars, it doesn't feel like a 'hotel conference room'
    3. Stella Sanders the group reservations coordinator made the room block process super easy, and gave us an amazing rate. We had people who came to the wedding who messed up their reservation dates and the westin didn't charge them anything for the day they missed.
    4. The waiters and bar tenders were the best i've ever seen in a hotel setting. All the food was put down at the same time, and they were courteous and efficient.
    5. The food on the wedding day was really really good - and tasted just like the dinner trial we did a few month back
    5. Overall the hotel was very accommodating to everything we needed.

I could keep going but will stop here. It couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

A few weeks before my wedding, the venue wedding coordinator with whom I had been collaborating for almost a year, left to take a new job. The new coordinator introduced herself right away and got to work reviewing the notes that were left for her and confirming details with me. She was incredibly proactive and responsive to make sure everything was taken care of and consistent with my expectations, which helped to put me at ease. And everything about the venue turned out perfectly. The catering and facilities directors were also proactive - when the frosting on my cutting cake started to melt and slide off the cake, they took it away and fixed it. When it was time to cut the cake, it looked like it was fresh from the bakery! All the staff at the Westin was incredibly friendly and helpful - even the valet and bellhops were extremely accommodating at keeping our cars easily accessable and helping us move loads of wedding gear. Also, the food was delicious, and the guests loved having the use of the courtyard as a place to relax during the reception. The Westin and the Westin staff were the best part of the wedding. One thing to keep in mind for future brides - be sure to discuss what wedding gear you expect to be returned to you afterwards. This slipped my mind and a few things that would have been nice to keep got tossed out during cleanup.

The Westin Georgetown was the perfect wedding venue and I loved every second of our event there.
    1. Staff - The best thing about the Westin was getting to work with Eileen Gibbons, the catering manager. She had an incredible attention to detail, was so warm and friendly and truly made me feel confident every step of the way in planning the event. Eileen was also incredibly fair in her pricing, giving us advice about value-for-money every step of the way and she was always right-on in her advice. There were two mistakes that were made with regard to the bar, but when I raised these issues to Eileen, she deducted a generous portion from our bill with absolutely no questions (only profuse apologies). I would love to plan another event at the Westin and to work with Eileen again. The rest of the Westin staff was always smiling, very patient, attentive and also helpful.
    2. FOOD - We got so many compliments on our food and I was lucky enough to even have some myself. We ordered Caesar salad, followed by stations (Baked Virginia Ham & Biscuits, Sautéed Shrimp/Beef & Chicken, a Raw Bar and a Design-Your-Own-Pasta station). Everyone raved about all of the food, went back for seconds, and I also thought that all of the items tasted fantastic. The Westin even gave each table complimentary mini-pastries after dinner.
    3. VENUE/LOCATION - The Promenade Room is an amazing indoor-outdoor space. I love the huge windows and the lovely courtyard. On our wedding day, a hurricane made the outdoor space unusable, but the indoor space still maintained a garden-type feel because of the high ceilings, beautiful columns and warm lighting.
    4. PRICE - I thought that the Westin was well worth the money and a
great value for everything that we got.
    5. ROOMS/SUITES - The rooms at the Westin were typical high-end hotel rooms (beautifully clean, fully functional), but also very light and airy. I like how they are eco-friendly and lights turn-off automatically when you leave the room (although this confused some guests). The Presidential Suite (i.e. Bridal Suite) is incredible (having a pool table, a kitchen and dining area). It was a great place for a casual after-party and brunch.

Having our wedding at the Westin Grand (now called the Westin Georgetown) was the best decision we made and really set the tone for the entire wedding. If you are looking for some outdoor space in DC and do not want the typical ballroom hotel wedding experience the Westin Grand's promenade area is perfect! It is elegant and unique. The outdoor courtyard was a perfect ceremony venue with a gorgeous fountain, lighted trees and beautiful flowers planted around. The courtyard also led into both the reception area and the cocktail/after hours dance space. There's also a space for if you would like to set up your after-reception dance area to the side of the reception area, so your guests who do not perfer to dance all night can relax and take a break. Working with Kristen was wonderful and went really smoothly. We LOVED this venue and it really has a beautiful layout if you want to use the promenade as a reception area. There were plenty of areas that are great for pictures too!

The food is also an amazing plus. The Chef's selections were delicious and guest all felt full and happy after dinner!

This space was georgeous and the room accomodations for the bride and groom could not be outdone anywhere :) My husband and I had a wonderful time at our wedding! This is truely an oasis in the heart of the city!

Having our wedding at the Westin Grand DC was an amazing experience! We loved everything, from the décor to the food to the location. The interior really sold us on the hotel; it is a beautiful hotel and the lobby, ballroom, and courtyard needed no additional decoration from us to look perfect. In comparison with other hotels, we feel like we got twice the value for half the price. The quality of the location, space, and standards (menu, tablecloths, china, chairs) generally cost far more per person or would require upgrades at any other luxury hotel in the city.

Kristen Dobbins, our event coordinator, did far more than just managing catering as her title implies. She walked us through timelines, gave us advice on what makes a great wedding, and did all of the day-of coordination without us even realizing. With so many things happening that day, we quickly came to realize how much Kristen was doing to keep the event flowing. All that and she had injured her arm the day before and simply laughed it off and got right to work! We could not have done it without her!

Westin Georgetown was the perfect venue for us. From the first time we visited the place, we loved the courtyard and the promenade. The packages were clearly laid out and it was easy to customize it. The staff was amazing! I have no experience planning a wedding and initially I was anxious to hear back a bit more promptly but I came to realize that Noelle and her team had it all under control and whenever decisions had to be made, they were on top of it. The face to face meetings closer to the wedding were very helpful and that's when a lot of the decisions were finalized. Noelle even helped calm us down and always made it clear what information she needed from us etc.

On the wedding day I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The decorations, food and the flow of events was exactly what we had discussed and in some cases much better than I could have imagined. Our guests were in awe of how beautiful the space is and were very impressed with the food. We are so grateful to Noelle and her team for their hard work and would certainly recommend this venue.

We had our cocktail hour and reception at the Westin Grand Hotel on Oct 10, 2009. After searching long and hard for the right wedding reception venue, we knew the Westin Grand was a winner immediately. The facilities speak for themselves. Whether it is the beautiful hardwood Promenade with large grand columns and french doors, the quaint courtyard for guest to catch some fresh air, or the M Street Grill which is absolutely perfect for cocktail hour, you can't help but fall in love with the facilities. However, it is the staff at the Westin Grand that will win you over. We worked with Carolyn Horton and she was one of the most delightful, professional, responsive and knowledgeable people I came across during my wedding planning experience. Planning was easy with Carolyn and execution was flawless. Nothing went wrong on my wedding day and I attribute that to the wonderful cadre of professionals at the Westin Grand. From Carolyn to the doorman, everyone was treated with the utmost warmth and hospitality during our event. The food was delicious, the venue is elegant, and overall we feel having our event at the Westin Grand was a luxurious experience for both us and our guests.

Carolyn Horton was wonderful to work with; 1st Class all the way. The only issues we had was with reservations and rooms. On several occassions, our guests were unable to find our room block or receive our special rate even after settling the issues with reservations ourselves. Overall the venue was beautiful, the food was good and again Carolyn was great!

    Beautiful and stunning venue!

We had such a great experience working with the Westin Georgetown team. The pictures online do not do this venue justice, it is absolutely stunning and it’s great to have the flexibility of different spaces to hold different parts of the wedding. We were very lucky with the weather on our special day and were able to use the courtyard, which was gorgeous and our guests could not stop commenting on how beautiful the hotel and spaces were. We really enjoyed working with Jordan and her team. The food was excellent. We appreciated the chef’s willingness to work with us on some special guest requests and the service was impeccable! The value was amazing and we would highly recommend to anyone consider considering! The presidential suite was also a perfect place to get ready and made us feel like superstars. 10/10!

Included Day of Coordination! Amazing Food!

Tia Ward was our coordinator with the Westin and she was amazing. She helped us plan everything that the Westin provides - spaces and decor options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, bar and catering, AND making sure that the day of runs smoothly. It was so great to put our plans in Tia's hands and just enjoy the wedding day as it unfolded! The food was also SO good. That was really important for us and everyone mentioned it afterwards. Overall very pleased!

    A hidden gem!

The Westin is a hidden hem in DC! We were looking for a venue that had an outdoor area and an area for an indoor reception with windows that was not in a basement ballroom. The chef is absolutely amazing, the food at the wedding was beyond delicious and raved about by all of our guests.

Tia Ward was fantastic to work with, her answers were very detailed and she made sure our wedding day was perfect and special!

    Great Venue, Great Service!

The Westin was the perfect venue for our wedding. Upon visiting, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. The Westin itself is in the perfect location, with it’s close proximity to the National Mall and Georgetown, it allowed our guests to venture out and enjoy themselves.

The Westin provided us with an incredible events coordinator, Tia was amazing and took great care in making our day perfect. Unfortunately we had to postpone our wedding twice due to Covid; however, Tia was so understanding and accommodating to us throughout the entire planning. We had a 2 day event, which included a Chinese tea ceremony for our close family and friends.

Tia executed both days flawlessly, from providing recommendations for wine, to creating a custom menu alongside Chef Taylor for our rehearsal dinner. Everyone in attendance loved the food and wine selection.

The Westin provided an endless choice of linens and tons of options for table set ups. As part of the wedding package, we had the Presidential Suite which was perfect for getting ready and gathering our wedding party. The Courtyard provided a beautiful space for our ceremony, and the Promenade was a great size for our reception and provided the perfect atmosphere for a classy formal dinner and dance floor (infinitely better than your usual hotel conference center/ballroom). Tia was also instrumental in making sure we utilized the space perfectly and gave our guests a perfect space for each part of the wedding including the cocktail hour.

Chef Taylor and team executed the reception flawlessly, the dinner was exceptional and Tia made sure everything ran quickly and efficiently!

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

Thank you Sandra for such kind words. The whole Westin Georgetown team loved working with you from start to finish and we are so glad that we got to be a part of your special day.

My fiancé was the one that actually found this venue and I was surprised on how much I loved it. There courtyard is beautiful and that’s the part that sold me. The food for our tasting was spectacular. Vanessa was our original coordinator for this venue and she was amazing. Worked well with our schedules and very responsive. I would recommend more for smaller guests counts less than 150. But they can accommodate bigger ones.

    The Westin Georgetown's reply:

We only had three months to plan an entire wedding for 100 people, and locking down a venue that could handle the majority of what that required was key. The Westin Georgetown gives you a ceremony space, a reception space, all catering and cake (or cupcakes as we chose), basic decor (candles and table linens etc) and room block support, all in a very reasonably priced package. Noelle and her team were fantastic and accommodating, and we were able to customize what we wanted within the package. Everything was beautiful and went as perfect as I could have hoped. THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE HOTEL WEDDING!

I would do it all over again!

I have so many positive comments, I needed to edit this down! We hosted our wedding at the Westin Georgetown after seeing about half a dozen venues in the DC area. We knew that the Westin was right for us and that was only cemented after our recent wedding. What sold us on the Westin was the option to have a wedding at a hotel in a space that didn’t look like your typical ballroom. The Promenade had ample space, opened out to a lovely courtyard, had tall ceilings with beautiful pillars and floor to ceiling windows. We worked with both Noelle and Lauren, and both made sure to make our day special. As our day approached, we worked most closely with Lauren on our event. She is amazing and made our day so special. She was very prompt in responding to emails and whenever we asked “Could we do X?” the answer was always “Yes!” We had some unexpected changes in guest counts late in the game and Lauren made sure to find ways to best accommodate those changes. The Westin team made sure our décor looked perfect—even more perfect than we planned. They added some expertly placed candles on the stairs and on our tables that looked so romantic. Our guests raved about the canapes. One friend was on a mission to find the lamb chops as they were passed around, and other friends were divided between being Team Spring Rolls and Team Pork Belly. At dinner we received a plate of the canapes we missed during cocktail hour, our requested drinks were waiting on our table, we had a personal waiter AND the bartenders refreshed our drinks without even having to ask. (“Your drink is watered down. Here is a new one”). What amazing service! Our cake was there waiting for us—we selected the flavors and the cake decoration but transportation and logistics were all scheduled between the Westin and the bakery. Oh and did I mention the bridal suite? I will never stay in a nicer room. Our wedding was the easiest day and we had nothing to worry about since it was in such great hands!

We are so glad that we chose the Westin for our Jan 2016 wedding!

It was so nice to have all the wedding events in one location- rehearsal dinner at the in-house steakhouse, welcome cocktails in the hotel bar, ceremony in the private courtyard and reception in the Promenade Room. The courtyard's fountain and twinkly lights were lovely; the Promenade Room's high ceilings, dark wood floors, and wall of windows created the perfect ambiance.

The bridal suite is stunning and great for family/ friends to gather. My husband's buddies gathered there to play pool, and it was the perfect spot for the ladies to get ready the day of the wedding. The guest rooms were spacious, airy, and the hotel happily put our family in rooms close to the suite. There were hiccups w/ rooms not ready when guests checked in- including my parents' room- but it all worked out.

Everyone loved the food- some guests said it was best wedding food they'd ever had!

Our wedding planner was Noelle but we worked w/ Alicia the month leading up to our wedding. Alicia was incredible to work with and a seasoned professional. She seemed genuinely excited to work w/ us, getting creative w/ our menu, offering thoughtful suggestions to help create our vision, while also staying on budget. Noelle managed the wedding day. It didn't go as smoothly as we'd have liked-there were hiccups that could have been avoided, but no way did it ruin our day.

It is extremely well priced- we were pleasantly surprised with how affordable it was.

Bottom line: We HIGHLY recommend the Westin Georgetown! I do suggest discussing the role the wedding planner will play the day of your wedding. Had we known that Noelle would not be as involved as we had expected (for instance, my bouquet was lost-likely thrown out by hotel staff because I assumed she would bring it to our suite at the end of the night) we would have likely hired a "day of" planner to ensure everything ran smoothly. Other than that, it was perfection!

We looked at many hotels in the city, but this was the one with the perfect outdoor space, a beautiful and unique ballroom, and the right price tag. The ceremony space was so beautiful when done up for the wedding, we got lots of comments on how pretty the courtyard is with the fountain. The ballroom was perfect in terms of size and comfort/convenience for our ~110 guests, and also "dresses up" really well! Food is really delicious, and we added lots of extras to the menu to make sure everyone was full. The honeymoon suite was fantastic for getting ready - huge and comfortable and lots of space for photos. The planning process was smooth and Noelle has a good attention to detail - the little things that we requested along the way were taken care of. Staff is very courteous and friendly and made the wedding run very smoothly. The Westin is a professional, classy, beautiful city wedding venue and I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

I hosted my wedding and reception at the Westin Georgetown and what a fabulous and beautiful venue. Initially I saw pictures online and knew I had to visit. I was sold. The promenade with the hardwood floors and columns, the green courtyard with working fountain and semi private feel and the welcoming front door with the beautiful decor were part of my deciding factors. With the space you didn't need too any decorations.

I opted for a Friday evening wedding to keep the cost down and it worked out fine. The packages offered are flexible. You can add, modify, remove services to tailor your day. We loved the complimentary bridal hospitality suite with the pool table. Family had a chance to mingle and reconnect over a game of pool before show time. Also the space provided amazing photo opportunities.

The staff were amazing. My family and friends felt like royalty on my wedding day. They took care of all our needs and wants. All night all I heard were positive comments about the staff, food, and facility.

The Westin Georgetown is a beautiful venue and I highly recommend you to go visit to see for yourself.

We held our Wedding at the Westin on 10/2/15. Initially we planned to use the courtyard but due to horrible weather we had to have the ceremony in the basement ballroom. Fortunately, the team at the Westin was 100% on top of things and made the last minute change so easy. We worked with Noelle specifically, and she was wonderful throughout the process. We sent many, many emails of questions and she was prompt with her replies. The reception space, food, and staff was phenomenal and we were so pleased with how everything turned out.

Let me start by saying my wedding at the Westin went so well. Everything worked out exactly as I had hoped.
VENUE: The venue is gorgeous. We were planning from far away so we wanted a hotel that could handle a number of aspects of the wedding. We didn't want a run-of-the-mill ballroom. The Courtyard and the Promenade were perfect. They gave us everything we could have wanted for an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception all in one place. The Promenade is a stunning room and was perfect for our reception of 120.
CATERING: The food was great. I was nervous about how the food we tried at the tasting would scale up to 120 people, but the kitchen was great. Everyone raved about the food. The service was impeccable - shout out to Han for being an incredible waiter and nice guy. The only issue was with some bar tenders not believing that my mid-20s cousins in from Israel were legal, but I understand liability.
COORDINATION: In the end everything worked out, but the process of working with the Westin was very aggravating - a warning to those who like to prepare well in advance. I understand that the summer into fall are busy, but it was frustrating not receiving responses to my questions for weeks - in my line of work, if I don't respond to customers for that long, I'd lose my job. I found that I needed to cc someone other than the coordinator in order to get a response in a timely manner. That said, from the rehearsal through the wedding, the on-site team was present and responsive. They did a great job of making sure my husband and I ate during the reception and guided us from photos to ceremony to family time to reception with ease.

We chose Westin Georgetown as our venue for its great use of indoor and outdoor space for the ceremony and reception.

Venue Review - While the ceremony space is breathtaking, we'd encourage couples to hire a designer for the reception spaces. Westin Georgetown's offerings for reception space has unique elements for each, but for couples who are imagining elaborate florals, and well-lit spaces, the venue itself falls short. To get the effect you desire, you'll end up having a very pricey AV bill, or if you're like my husband and me, you'll need to force yourself to think creatively about lighting and avoid the astronomic AV costs.

Staff Review - Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with the staff. We struggled to get timely responses to time-sensitive requests at times, but everything came together at the end. The food is AMAZING - best hotel food we've ever tastes. Our guests are still complimenting the chef. The banquet staff and bartenders were very attentive to our guests, and the bathrooms remained clean through the night. If you are doing a room block, be upfront with the reservations staff and concierge that you need rooms to be available at the time indicated on the registration. Through the weekend, we had three rooms (my sister and two of our groomsmaids and ushers) that were not ready until two hours before the reception!

Overall, we had a great experience and have already recommended Westin Georgetown to friends and colleagues.

Our wedding at the Westin was beautiful and everything went perfectly the day of. However, working with Noelle was extremely difficult. It would take three weeks or calls and voice mails for her to answer questions and/or respond. She was definitely the most unresponsive vendor we had to work with throughout the planning process. Every single time we emailed Noelle, her out of office was on - including when she sent us the final event order/bill just 5 days before our wedding. It was incredibly frustrating.

All the other members of the Westin staff were professional and great to work with. The reception space and courtyard was beautiful.

My wedding went very well. The venue was beautiful, the food was good, staff on the day-of were great. I was frustrated with the wedding contact at the hotel. She was *very* slow to respond to emails. If I hadn't had a planner, I'm sure I would've been more panicked about making sure everything was on schedule and ready. There were a few elements we discussed multiple times that didn't make it onto the BEO - which I reviewed very carefully and found several mistakes on. Overall I was pleased, it was easy to work with a hotel, no rentals, no shuttles. The Promenade was great for our reception and the Washington Ballroom was a lovely ceremony venue. I don't quite know how to rank the value or the flexibility because I only had one wedding and didn't do anything outrageous. The prices seemed in line with other hotels in DC and they were able to accommodate our reasonable requests.

The Westin is a great place to get married. We loved the ballroom, courtyard, and the bridal suite is awesome! If you're interested in an intimate and elegant space to get married, this is great. The value is also great. There are a lot of inclusions in the Westin package such as the cake, flatware, some decor (candles, lantern, birdcage) and deeply discounted linen rental. The food offered at the reception was also great. My guests raved about it. The biggest issue was responsiveness. Noelle could have been more responsive, especially towards the end. We were waiting until days before the wedding to get total figures and other key information. Overall, though, Noelle and staff were nice and helpful. Our wedding was small (48 people) so we didn't feel too panicked by the lingering details.

The Westin Grand is a beautiful place to have your wedding ceremony and reception. We fell in love with the space as soon as we saw it. It's not the cheapest option, but we got great rates on the room block, the space is exceptional, and the food was excellent. In fact, we got raves on the food--and who ever says great things about wedding food? Overall, this is a GREAT place to have your wedding if you are looking to have your ceremony in a hotel and are looking for something better than getting married in the "break out room".

My only negative comments are that there's not a whole lot of communication. The person orginally assigned to us changed hotels and we found out she'd left when when our vendor told us he's tried to contact the hotel. The new person assigned to us was very friendly, but was still learning the ropes. I had to send back our invoice at least 3 times because of mistakes.

But the wedding coordination on the day of was great. Overall, I would say this was a good experience.

I used the Westin as the room block for my wedding, and it was a real disappointment. First, they were very difficult to work with when it came to reserving space for the brunch. We were given conflicting and changing information for much of the process. Second, many of my guests were told upon arrival that rooms were not ready (even after check in time), and many had to wait hours. More than one who had reserved double rooms did not receive them, including families who clearly needed more than one bed. Finally, many of my guests told me they were not given their welcome bags. I called and spoke with the front desk more than once and the issue continued. What's the point is spending all that time and money on the bags if they aren't going to be given to the guests? All around, the experience was disappointing.
