We would be remiss if we didn’t mention how wonderful the entire venue is as well. The Oak Barn is BEAUTIFUL and the property is one of a kind. We loved the mountains in the background and were also told by our guests how special they thought the scenery was. We could go on and on about the location and views but you’ll have to see it for yourself! There is so much more to be said about Barb and Ernie, but we will conclude by saying that we consider Barb and Ernie friends after working with them for the past year and miss planning our wedding alongside them. We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Oak Barn at Loyalty and could not have been happier with our decision.
The venue itself is gorgeous, with well-maintained facilities and beautiful views that created the perfect backdrop for our event. Beyond the setting, what truly sets this venue apart is the level of service provided by the owners.
Barb and Ernie were engaged throughout the planning process, easy to communicate with, and committed to ensuring everything ran smoothly. They were accommodating, attentive, and focused on helping us create a memorable experience for our family and guests.

My husband and I are so happy we chose to have our wedding at the Oak Barn! The property is absolutely beautiful and spacious — it comfortably fit our 150 guests, and the mountain views were truly the reason we fell in love with the venue. The barn itself is stunning inside and made for such a warm, elegant atmosphere.
Barb and Ernie are wonderful owners and were so attentive throughout the entire process. They genuinely care about their couples and took the time to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of, including coordinating with vendors and keeping things on schedule. They also take such pride in maintaining the property, and it really shows.
One of the biggest conveniences for us was that the Oak Barn only hosts one wedding per weekend. This took so much stress out of the logistics — we were able to drop off decorations on Friday during our rehearsal and then pick up anything we couldn’t fit in the car on Sunday. It felt relaxed and unrushed, unlike other venues that try to fit in as many weddings as possible. We also found their pricing to be very reasonable for everything included, especially when compared to other venues we toured.
Another huge help during planning was their list of preferred vendors. Having reliable options to choose from made the entire process so much smoother and less overwhelming.
We couldn’t recommend the Oak Barn more — it’s a beautiful venue with thoughtful owners who truly care about their couples and the experience they provide.The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

Barb and Ernie did so much to make Meagan and Brien’s wedding day so wonderful. Their venue was the perfect setting—beautiful, warm, and welcoming—and it truly set the tone for an unforgettable celebration.
From the very first time we visited, we knew that this was the perfect place for Meagan and Brien to get married. Barb and Ernie always made us feel comfortable and supported and helped guide us as we navigated planning her wedding. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine kindness throughout this last year was so helpful since this is the first wedding in our little family.
My elderly parents truly enjoyed meeting them at the wedding and we are so appreciative of the care they were given along with our uncle who struggled with mobility issues. Our family and friends continue to rave about the venue and the atmosphere they helped create. Please know how grateful we are for the role Barb and Ernie played in making such cherished memories for our family. We cannot thank them enough for all that they have done for us.

Our son was recently married at The Oak Barn at Loyalty, and it was all we had dreamed of. From the beginning, the bride and groom wanted an outdoor ceremony with mountain views, and The Oak Barn provided the most stunning backdrop. When they first met Barb and Ernie, they immediately felt they would be well cared for—and that feeling proved true every step of the way.
Barb and Ernie are truly exceptional. They bring years of experience while also giving each couple personal attention and genuine care, making sure every detail reflects their vision. They were always responsive, flexible, and went above and beyond to create a magical wedding weekend. One of the things we especially appreciated was that they only host one wedding per weekend, which gave us plenty of time for a rehearsal, to drop things off beforehand, and to collect items the next morning without any rush.
The property itself is beautiful and versatile, with a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. The upper patio was perfect for cocktail hour, while the lower patio hosted lawn games for guests. Leading up to the big day, we saw Ernie’s incredible attention to detail as he prepared the grounds, and on the wedding day he worked quietly behind the scenes, handling vendor issues before we even knew they existed.
The Oak Barn at Loyalty is an absolute gem, and Barb and Ernie’s care for each couple makes it truly special. We couldn’t recommend it more highly!

We had our wedding at the Oak Barn in May and absolutely loved it! The venue was beautiful and perfect for our wedding and we lucked out with amazing weather. The barn is immaculate, well crafted, and has all the modern amenities you need. Working with Barb and Ernie was also great, as they are real pros who know how to work with all the support staff to ensure the couple has an amazing experience. We would highly recommend!

Perfect venue!
Our wedding day at the Oak Barn was truly unforgettable, and we owe much of that to Barb and Ernie. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, even when the weather was unpredictable. Right before our outdoor ceremony, it started to rain. Barb and Ernie calmly approached us with a backup plan that allowed us to still have the outdoor ceremony we had dreamed of. I remember both of them saying to me that they really wanted me to have the ceremony that I dreamed of. We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning venue than The Oak Barn at Loyalty for our wedding! From the moment we arrived, our guests were raving about how beautiful the space was. The natural scenery, especially the breathtaking backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains during our ceremony, made the day feel magical and picture-perfect. It was truly the venue of our dreams.
It was incredibly convenient that The Oak Barn at Loyalty offers two separate spaces for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready. This arrangement made the day run smoothly and significantly reduced stress for everyone involved!
When the weather took a turn and our cocktail hour had to be moved indoors, Ernie and Barb executed the rain plan flawlessly. We were so impressed by how smoothly everything transitioned. Not a single detail was missed, and the flow of the evening remained seamless. We felt completely at ease knowing they had everything under control, which allowed us to focus on enjoying our big day. The Oak Barn at Loyalty provides the best rain plan we’ve seen. It is well planned, spacious, and still provides incredible views of the outdoors.
Ernie and Barb are truly exceptional. From the planning stages to the day of the wedding, and even after, they went above and beyond to accommodate every request we had and they truly treat every couple like family. Their warmth and professionalism made the experience so enjoyable, and they even doubled as spectacular wedding guests themselves! My husband and I had our wedding here in July 2024 and could not have pictured a better day with all of our loved ones! We were looking for a “one stop shop” for our venue to include the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location. The indoor-outdoor feel at The Oak Barn gives guests an incredible experience, whether they are looking to dance inside the amazing temperature-controlled barn, grabbing a drink outside on the patio, or relaxing on the outdoor furniture by the outdoor fireplace and playing cornhole. Dreamy proposal!
We were looking for a venue for our son's wedding proposal and we were concerned about inclement weather and wanted a venue that he could propose inside in case it rained. I came across The Oak Barn and fell in love with the pictures on the website. I reached out to the venue and spoke with Barb. She and Ernie agreed to let us use their venue. To say we were blown away by the whole experience is an understatement! From the very beginning meeting Ernie and Barb to the day of the proposal, they were just as invested as we were in helping make the proposal very special. The proposal took place inside the barn due to rain, and it was amazing! The indoor decor is just as wonderful as the outdoor decor! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Oak Barn this past June. We chose The Oak Barn, not only for its picturesque landscape and beautiful barn but they also had a great rain plan in case of bad weather (luckily, we had perfect weather the day of the wedding but it was a relief knowing the rain plan would have been great). The owners, Barb and Ernie, were so wonderful to work with. They are really lovely people and you can tell they do this because they love it. They were there the day of the wedding and made sure that everything was perfect. We knew we were in good hands. From the bridal suite, to the grooms lounge, to the grounds, and the barn...it was all perfect. Our guests loved the venue and told us how beautiful the barn and venue was. It is exactly one month since our daughter's wedding at the Oak Barn at Loyalty, and we are still on cloud nine! It was the first and best decision we made in planning the wedding. The beautiful mountain views and scenic property create magic for the wedding photos. "Stunning" is the word our guests used repeatedly. We were fortunate to have great weather and could really partake in all the amenities the Oak Barn offers. The lovely patio with twinkling strings lights can be used all day and evening. The covered patio area with the fireplace provided a respite for those looking for a quiet moment as did the upstairs balcony. And corn hole allowed some friendly competition! But the Barn itself is truly the show stopper. Even if it had rained, I wouldn't have worried because the inside space is easily convertible between ceremony and reception. A large wooden bar was added upstairs this year, and it was one of our guests favorite things. But the absolute best thing about booking with Oak Barn is Barb and Ernie. They are THE BEST! They truly want you to have the wedding of your dreams and they will do whatever they can to ensure you do. They know their venue inside and out and can offer suggestions on any topic. Their standards and expectations for vendors are high but the mutual respect we saw between both groups was clear. On the biggest day of your life, you couldn't be in better hands! And you leave the experience feeling like you have a second family. As a mom, this meant a great deal to me.

So Grateful!!
During our venue search, we came across several beautiful options that seemed like they would fit our needs and interests well. This especially included the Oak Barn at Loyalty, with its gorgeous Amish-built barn, its lovely patio and outdoor bar, and its breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. But the Oak Barn has something unique that sets it far above any other venue, and that’s Barb and Ernie. Barb and Ernie are so much more than just the venue owners in that they care sincerely about each couple that is lucky enough to be married at Oak Barn, and go to great lengths to ensure the day is perfect. They set high standards for their vendors, they pay incredible attention to detail, and, most importantly, they make you feel like a part of their family. Choosing to get married at Oak Barn was the first and best decision we made during our planning process, and we couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding day thanks to Barb and Ernie! -

So thrilled with our choice!
We could not be happier to have chosen Oak Barn for our wedding in early May 2024 after booking with Barb and Ernie in March 2023. There are so many beautiful barn venues in Northern VA, but part of what made Oak Barn stick out was the experience we had with Barb and Ernie during our first visit. We truly felt like we would have a “third set of parents” watching out for us during our wedding planning process and that they would treat us as if we were family members hosting our wedding at their home. Throughout the year+ of planning, they were responsive, flexible, and helpful, including by welcoming some new vendors (such as a new band!) into their space, and that carried out through the wedding weekend. We ended up having our ceremony inside the barn due to rain, but they worked with our coordinator and caterer throughout the day to begin to implement both Plan A and Plan B, allowing the rain call to be made later in the day and give the sun one final chance to shine for us. Even though it didn’t, we were so thrilled with how the barn was transformed inside to look even more magical and beautiful than I could have imagined, complete with all of our florals, beautiful gold chairs, and the barn doors slid open behind our “altar” to retain some natural beauty to our ceremony backdrop. We received so many compliments from our guests on the venue, including some who thought that our indoor ceremony was the plan all along given how beautiful it was! We loved using the upstairs and downstairs for spacing out our guests (even though there were only 112 and the venue can hold 175) and having them standing along the upstairs railing to watch speeches and dances, and the upstairs was perfect for our rain plan cocktail hour. The moment we drove up the driveway at The Oak Barn at Loyalty I cried bc I knew that we found “the venue.” The tears continued the entire tour & as I stood in the gorgeous barn,
(I’m typically not a crier) I’d immediately felt soo ‘at home’ with Barb & Ernie, the owners.
Sadly the pandemic occurred causing us to postpone our wedding twice. Flash forward to October 2023 & the most magical moment in our lives finally occurred at the beautiful Oak Barn at Loyalty.
The gorgeous views which we grew to love over 4 years wowed our guests, the compassion Barb & Ernie felt shined throughout the day without going unnoticed to family & friends. I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful the bridal suite is! We truly had the best experience at The Oak Barn at Loyalty! There’s no need to look at other venues bc this venue has everything & more that you could possibly need! Your guests will be talking about your wedding for a long time if you choose the oak barn! Although our wedding has passed, the bond we share with Barb & Ernie is For life!

I had the pleasure of experiencing The Oak Barn at Loyalty as the venue for my daughter's wedding, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Barb and Ernie, the hosts, were incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, which was especially helpful for us as newcomers to the wedding planning process.
Barb was a wealth of information, providing us with vendor lists and patiently addressing our many questions. She made us feel at ease and when my daughter wanted to revisit the venue and visualize the reception layout, both Barb and Ernie went the extra mile rearranging tables to help us explore various setups and walking us through how the day would go.
On the day of the wedding, the weather didn't cooperate, but that didn't dampen our spirits. Ernie's early preparations and attention to detail ensured that the indoor setting was beautiful and intimate, creating a perfect atmosphere for the day and our guests.
The bridal suite was a dream with ample space for hair, makeup and relaxation simultaneously, while the groom's suite provided a fun and relaxing space for the men.
The Oak Barn at Loyalty is undeniably a stunning venue, and what sets it apart is the personal touch that Barb and Ernie bring to every event. They truly make it all about the couple on their special day, and we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience. Outstanding venue and owners

As the mother of the bride, my job was to find a venue that fit my daughter's one wish; a barn venue. After looking at many, the decision to have it at The Oak Barn at Loyalty was easy for many reasons. Not only was it a gorgeous venue, the owners Ernie and Barbara are wonderful to work with! They are responsive to questions, provided suggestions for vendors, and are accommodating to the couples’ needs to make sure the wedding is perfect. One aspect we loved compared to other venues is there is only one wedding a weekend; so, you could schedule the rehearsal/wedding on your time, as opposed to squeezing into their schedule. The best venue around
The Oak Barn is THE BEST venue to get married at, by far. The owners, Barb and Ernie, will always have their couples best interests in mind and will take extra steps to make sure everything goes to (the best) plan. The venue itself is incredible, and the ceremony backdrop is the best in the area. The best thing about the Oak Barn is that once you get married there, you become family not only with your significant other, but also with Barb and Ernie. The Oak Barn at Loyalty was the perfect spot for my daughter’s wedding! The setting is incredible, nestled in the hills of Leesburg with remarkable sunset views. The barn itself is modern and rustic with so much natural beauty. The gardens are well-maintained, and the grounds have a patio area and relaxing fireside seating. We had the most beautiful spring wedding weather, enjoying the outdoors as well as indoors.
Ernie and Barbara are a pleasure to work with. Professional, responsive and accommodating. They run a tight ship, and it shows in the ability to execute these events flawlessly. They have recommended vendors and they monitor their quality. They also allow you to choose your own vendors.
When we decided to reserve the Oak Barn at Loyalty, it was comforting to know a) I had a short list of vendors, so it wasn’t so overwhelming and b) I knew those vendors had good reputations because of the due diligence performed by Ernie and Barbara. We had an absolutely perfect time during our mid-April wedding celebration at the Oak Barn. After touring multiple venues months earlier, this one stood out to us. The location: right near Leesburg, many wineries, other small towns, while also quite close to Dulles airport and DC, makes it an easy place to get to with many things for guests to do as well. The scenery: the property is expansive and meticulously landscaped, with a beautiful view that is also seen from the barn doors of the main space. The layout of the indoor and outdoor spaces: we were able to have cocktail hour outside while playing lawn games and our main celebration indoors with the barn doors open; there are many areas inside and out for guests to enjoy the view or find a quiet spot; a private area for each of us to get ready with close friends on the day of. The day itself was simply a dream! Everything went as smoothly as possible and the venue provided the perfect setting. Barb and Ernie were an absolute pleasure to work with and we simply enjoyed talking to them. I only wish we could go back. Book this venue, right now, you will not regret it! Barb and Ernie, the owners, are simply the best. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the owners being so genuine, nice, and accommodating is just an added bonus. Even with intermittent showers on my wedding day, I couldn’t have asked for a better day, because of all they did before and during to make everything go smoothly. Barb and Ernie went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, and our wedding day was simply like a fairytale because of the owners. Stunning Views, Amazing People
The Oak Barn is nothing short of spectacular – Nothing I say here will be effusive enough to convey what an absolute pleasure it was to get married here. Due to Covid, my wife and I were engaged for 3 years and we only found the Oak Barn after our initial venue fell through because of shifting dates. As the old saying goes, ‘everything happens for a reason’ – I am so incredibly thankful that we had to pass on our first venue because we would never have even found this place.
While I could go on at length about why you need to book this place TODAY, the top three reasons are:
1) The Setting: The Oak Barn is nestled at the foot of the Bull Run Mountains and overlooks Loudon Valley. This picturesque piece of land is pushed back from the road and is surrounded by dense trees that were dazzling shades of vermillion, crimson, and amber at the time of our fall wedding. The property is secluded and feels intimate, unlike many of the other northern VA venues which tend to be close to roads or other places of business. I believe the word “magical” was used by more than a few of our guest.
2) The Space: Let me start by saying - the eponymous ‘Oak Barn’ is absolutely fantastic. Built by Amish labor, the barn sits at the heart of the property and lends a feeling of strength, stability, and character. In addition to the barn, bridal/groom suites, the patio, and even the covered firepit lend an air of old-world sophistication and class.
The space is also incredibly adaptable - we decked the barn and patio in more flowers than I have ever seen in one place in my life. The effect was stunning: guests were transported to a French countryside, the air redolent of peony and eucalyptus. One thing is clear - this isn’t like “other barn venues”.
3) The Staff: This is it – the X-factor. Over what turned into quite a long engagement, Barb and Ernie became like family to us. Ernie’s enthusiasm and ‘joie de vivre’ as he walks you through the property is infectious. Barb’s nurturing altruism and support will make you feel as if you are visiting home. These are wonderful people and the importance of the “people” that make up your list of vendors cannot be overstated.

Amazingly beautiful top shelf venue!
I lack the words to describe our experience at The Oak Barn! To say that Ernie and Barb are the best is an understatement. I was a first time Mother of the Bride and live out of state. I was nervous picking unknown vendors but that ended after meeting Ernie and Barb! Our daughter and her now husband found the venue searching Wedding Wire. Every step of the way we were guided and directed by the owners. They offered for us to come anytime to visit. We did visit a few times and always felt welcomed and never rushed. They are the kindest, most friendly couple and not once made us feel we couldn’t ask questions. They helped us choose other vendors who were as professional and knowledgeable as they are about the wedding business. The Oak Barn itself is beyond beautiful! From the bridal suite, outdoor setting, and of course the unbelievable amazing barn! We would recommend to anyone looking for a top shelf venue with amazing owners to look no further than The Oak Barn at Loyalty. We had guests from many states and everyone was in awe of this venue. It truly does offer all that a bride and groom could be looking for in a venue. We also had our rehearsal dinner on site and it was beautiful on the patio under the bistro lights!

We are the parents of the groom but worked closely with the bride and wedding planner in selecting the venue and planning the wedding.
The beauty of this venue is obvious from the pictures, and honestly it was even more beautiful on our wedding weekend. The vibrant color of the barn against the sky, the unspoiled viewscape behind the wedding arch, the approach your guests will take through historic Waterford, the wild turkeys and deer running by as we set up and rehearsed, and the glow as the sun sank over the hills and the lights on the patio came on are all magical.
The barn itself is so large and flexible; we moved some guest tables upstairs and it served as a cheery balcony overlooking our dance floor, but you can also move the dancing outside and keep everyone on one floor. The doors can be wide open leaving breathtaking sunset views and plenty of fresh air or closed to keep the air conditioned barn cool and dry if needed.
However, none of this compares to the main draw of this venue: the owners Barb and Ernie who built the barn as a labor of love and run it like their clients are family. They were there with us from our first visit, through the long wedding weekend and were still with us the day after helping to carry out our last decorations. They treated our guests like family: when one was overwhelmed by the heat they brought him into their own home next door to recover. There are many lovely venues in Northern Virginia but most are run as companies. We threw a wedding in our own backyard a few years ago, and we were made to feel just as "at home" at the Oak Barn. The Oak Barn at Loyalty is a dream wedding venue. Barbara and Ernie were incredibly hospitable, let us come and see the venue time after time, and treated us like family. The venue itself is stunning, spacious, and well-kempt. The views are incredible, and the sun sets over the property are amazing. All our guests were in awe of our venue, and we could not have been more pleased in working with the Oak Barn.
It rained all morning on our wedding day, but the Oak Barn offers a fantastic rain backup inside the barn (which also saved us thousands of dollars from having to rent a tent). The rain stopped around noon and the sod they have strategically placed on the ceremony site dried quickly and was completely stable, safe, and not in the slightly bit muddy, slippery, or wet by the time of our photos and ceremony. Our guests were able to spread out to use all their outdoor space – including the covered fireplace lounge, the cornhole area, and the cocktail patio (which is so charming with its built-in barn bar and overhead string lights). They have separate getting ready spaces for the bridal party and the groomsmen, with fantastic natural lighting for the makeup artists and a pool table for the guys to hang out. There are plenty of beautiful spaces for photographs, both inside and out.
Barb and Ernie are constantly making improvements and it’s clear how much they care about both their guests and their property. Other venues we toured felt like “wedding factories” but we truly felt at home on the Oak Barn property. Barb and Ernie are great with prompt communication and answering any questions from us or our vendors. They have clear and easy to follow rules and were very knowledgeable and flexible in working with our vendor team. They also provide referrals for recommended caterers, photographers, and any other vendors you need help finding. The venue comes with plenty of tables and seating options for both ceremony and reception, which also helped us keep down costs in rentals. Our safety deposit was returned the day after the wedding, and they left us the sweetest wedding gift.
Overall, we only have great things to say about the Oak Barn and would highly recommend it to anyone!The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

The Oak Barn at Loyalty was our dream venue! My partner and I got engaged in spring 2019 and when we moved to the DC area, we knew we wanted to plan our wedding out in VA - somewhere with great views, lots of green space, and an outdoor space! We got so lucky with The Oak Barn and knew immediately upon pulling up the driveway that we wanted to book with them. Barb and Ernie are a dream team and made planning our wedding at their venue such a smooth process. Being able to use all of the items and furniture they provide was wonderful and they kept us updated as their offerings grew and changed. We had to postpone our original May 2021 date and they were super accommodating and kind. Our day finally happened on June 4 and we had such a blast! Our guests all commented on how beautiful the venue was, especially the views from the barn, and how smoothly the night went! Even for us as the couple, we knew we were in good hands because of all the planning and coordination that went into making our day as stress free as possible. Picture perfect wedding venue!
Picturesque views, peaceful and serene setting, beautifully maintained gardens, and gracious and detailed orientated hosts/owners! This is everything you could want in your wedding venue and Barb and Ernie (venue owners) make the process easy. They work with you if you have any special requests. We had access to the venue for the entire weekend which makes the days leading up to it less stressful. They do not rush you through your wedding day events (rehearsal and big day) and work to make sure everything is just as you imagined. The property is maintained to make all your photo dreams come true. The inside of the barn has the perfect amount of space to be cozy and comfortable with your guests without feeling claustrophobic and air conditioning to keep it cool in the warmer months. The upstairs makes for great pictures during wedding activities. The property is not close to a busy road so you do not hear any car traffic (great if you have a videographer) and allows you to hear during the ceremony without amplification. We could call and come up to the venue at any point to do a walk throughs with other vendors, or to measure for rental pieces. Barb and Ernie were there to welcome and chat any time. We loved our experience at The Oak Barn at Loyalty and would highly recommend to anyone. We look forward to being to go back as guests to The Oak Barn in the future.The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

The Oak Barn at Loyalty sits atop a beautiful hillside in Waterford, Virginia with an unreal view of the blue ridge mountains that you just don't get at other barn and vineyard venues in the area. Inside the stunning barn is a two story set up with views from all four sides.
Barb and Ernie became friends of ours, trusted partners throughout the process and flexible every step of the way. The Oak Barn can be your blank canvas to make your wedding vision come true, or you can take advantage of their furniture + decor included in the rental. Another huge advantage to the Oak Barn is that the property is yours for the whole wedding weekend too - making the day-of run even more smooth!
Whether helping throw logs on the fire, bustle your dress, give you advice on set up and flow, or just positive energy throughout, Barb + Ernie are a dream and my wedding at the Oak Barn was a dream come true.

Best Venue in Northern Virginia!
This venue is truly unlike any other in Northern Virginia. The views are unbeatable, the barn is new and modern with a touch of rustic. Barb and Ernie were the most gracious and accommodating people. They have thought of all of the things that someone would want or need on their wedding day. They included chairs, barrel tables, tables and more! The bridal suite is clean, modern and spacious. The moment we drove up the hill to The Oak Barn at Loyalty property, I felt transported into another world. I could not pick my jaw off the car floorboard! Our daughter and I had been convinced that another venue would be our number one choice, but the next day as we were touring that site, I was praying that she and my future son-in-law would prefer The Oak Barn, and they resoundingly did! When you book The Oak Barn at Loyalty, you not only have the use of the amazingly beautiful Amish-built barn itself, but everything else the venue has to offer: gorgeous Bridal and cool Groom's Suites, the expansive patio for cocktail hour, the mini pavilion with wood-burning fireplace, and the million-dollar views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Manor House is an extraordinarily beautiful backdrop for photographs as well. The whole property is a photographer's dream, as evidenced by our sneak peeks we have already seen. Sasha and Andrew look exquisite in all their shots on The Oak Barn property. The final difference that makes this the best choice is the personalized service you receive from Ernie and Barb, the owners. There was no question that wasn't taken seriously and answered in a timely manner. They supported and helped us through the postponement of the wedding from April to October because of the Pandemic. They served us so excellently and we are so grateful! I don't think an online review could ever accurately express how incredible this venue is, or how kind and accommodating Ernie and Barb are. My husband and I dreamed of getting married in Leesburg, but by the time we were engaged and ready to choose a venue, it was almost impossible to find an available one due to post-COVID reschedules. When I reached out to the Oak Barn at Loyalty, and told them how hard we had been looking and how much we hoped to be married in such a beautiful place, Barb and Ernie quickly found a way to deliver my dream. They opened up a Friday date that was previously blocked off, and immediately scheduled a walkthrough to make sure we could see the venue before booking. There was no doubt in our minds that this stunning, two-story barn, would be the place we would start our forever. Fast forward through a year of timely communication, flexibility towards our busy 'senior-year-of-college' schedules, and sweet encouragement and celebrations, our wedding week arrived!! We were able to have one last walkthrough with all of our vendors, and nail down everything from tables and chairs, to space for our wedding parties, to making sure the grass was cut to our liking!! Every detail that we could have thought of (and more) was covered by Barb and Ernie. Expectations and rules were clearly communicated so that the day of, everything ran smoothly. Furthermore, they were quick to check in on us and offer their assistance to us and our wedding team, even though they had no obligation. I truly feel as though Ernie and Barb became our friends, and it was such a joy to have them there to celebrate on our big day. On top of wonderful hosts, this venue has one of the most beautiful overlooks of the Blue Ridge mountains, as well as stunning space inside the barn and on the cocktail patio/fire pit. My dream was to host a classy/modern wedding with a touch of rustic, and this venue delivered. Like I said, an online review could never touch the surface of the love and joy we experienced having our wedding here. But my hope to all the brides reading this is that you get to experience the same thing we did at the Oak Barn at Loyalty. -

The Oak Barn at Loyalty is the most perfectly wonderful wedding venue with such warmth and beauty both inside and out! The owners, Barb and Ernie, are incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming, and we fell in love with everything from the very beginning. We just got married at The Oak Barn on September 12, 2021 and feel so blessed as we can’t imagine a more perfect space for our wedding. The barn is a combination of rustic & glam with beautiful chandeliers and sparkly twinkle lights. The nature surrounding the barn is so picturesque and the mountain views are just stunning! There are many creative places for photos and videography, as well as ample space for guests to spread out and mingle. We had about an 85-person wedding and felt that the barn was a wonderful size for that amount, even though the space can easily accommodate a much higher guest count. We love the two-story aspect that the barn provides, which is so unique to their venue and one of our favorite features of the barn. When researching venues and considering the possibility of inclement weather, we were really hoping to find a place where we would be happy with both the indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces. The Oak Barn, by far, has the most perfect rain plan with its simply gorgeous 2-level interior where guests can be comfortably seated, as well as the fact that the doors on all four sides of the barn can be opened, creating an open-air feel. We loved keeping these doors open during our reception because it gave us a bit of the beautiful outdoors, inside. Barb and Ernie have put so much thought and care into each detail and they are so gracious with their time and resources. We so appreciated their super helpful vendor recommendations, the adorable and “homey” groom and bridal suites that they allowed us to use, and the decor provided such as cute signage, barrels, farmhouse tables, etc. We can not say enough about how amazing and generous Barb and Ernie are, and we are so grateful for their support throughout the entire planning process. The Oak Barn at Loyalty was the most perfect venue in every way for our wedding day, and we wish we could experience it again and again! (And if we could move in to the barn itself, that would be a dream!) -

A stunningly beautiful venue!
My partner and I had our wedding at this facility and it is spectacularly gorgeous; all of our guests raved about it. From start to finish our experience was terrific; the owners Ernie and Barbara Smith were great to work with and thoroughly professional; though they have very specific parameters they impose to ensure the property is protected, these are absolutely reasonable and no more rigorous than you would find at many facilities. It's obviously a labor of love for them; we would absolutely recommend their facility and them to others seeking a very special venue of scenic beauty and (particularly during a time of pandemic) cleanliness.The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

We couldn't have dreamed of a better wedding venue! Two years ago, my now husband and I began the search, and The Oak Barn was the first venue we saw and we were among the earliest to book just after it opened! The barn itself is truly a carpentry masterpiece but meeting Barbara and Ernie really made it an easy decision. They are the warmest, most supportive, genuine people and right away it felt like we had met extended family. This was evident throughout the entire (extended) process and we are so grateful to have had them in our corner. We had to reschedule twice and they were extremely accommodating and easygoing despite the rollercoaster. Somewhat ironically after postponing and enduring a full extra year of anticipation... it did rain. Thank goodness we booked an indoor/outdoor venue that was just as spectacular on the inside -- my ceremony was indoors and it was still beautiful. Luckily we had the opportunity to take all of our pictures with mountain views afterward. Inside is climate controlled, meaning our guests were totally comfortable despite the weather. There are some great outdoor areas - like the fireplace - and it's surrounded by gorgeous scenery (my guests took full advantage of photo ops!) Barbara and Ernie have almost all the rentals in stock which also made it super easy not having to work with a third party vendor for tables, chairs, and even some decorative items! All this to say: I highly recommend from an event logistics perspective. I can't even ballpark the number of compliments we received from our guests on the venue choice -- everyone was SO impressed! Best of all, we knew we were in good hands the whole time (and as a "COVID bride", I must say that is a truly priceless thing.) The Oak Barn is the best decision we could have made for our wedding - go with this venue!!! -

I don't even know where to start! The second we pulled up to The Oak Barn for our venue tour, its magnificence took our breath away. The barn, property, and views are STUNNING! We immediately felt at home when we were greeted by the owners Barb and Ernie who are a couple of the greatest people you will ever meet. They are hard-working, organized, very communicative, and passionate about what they do. I am forever thankful for their support while wedding planning during a the pandemic. They truly went above and beyond to make everything perfect for our big day.
Our wedding day was a dream come true. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the beautiful venue and setting. I loved the barn’s loft which made for a unique social setting (and more seating) with an aerial look of the dance floor and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the balcony. We were blessed with sunshine and one of the Oak Barn’s signature sunsets. Even the 17-year cicadas came out to party!

This venue is a dream! It is perfect, very clean, beautiful and has great Mountain View’s! The owners are very sweet and helpful! Perfect In Every Way
When we booked this gorgeous venue in February 2020, who could've imagined what the next 15 months would bring? But we remained optimistic and ended up with the wedding of our daughter's dreams just a week after COVID restrictions were lifted in VA.
Throughout the year of uncertainty, we had good friends and allies in venue owners Barb and Ernie. They were a total delight to work with -- quick to respond, supportive in every way, and always ready to go the extra mile. Ernie's comment to me, that he would make sure everything was handled as if it were his own daughter's wedding, was sincere and true. We honestly felt like family.
The barn is absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained, as are the grounds. Barb and Ernie obviously take tremendous pride in what they've built here (not all that long ago) and work constantly to keep it that way. They've thought of everything, right down to the comfortably separate bride and groom suites, a pristine patio with bistro lights, and a permanent ceremony arch that highlights a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They may not be responsible for the sunsets, but can I just say WOW.
From start to finish, Barb and Ernie were there for us and our 170 guests. The wedding day was hot (90+ degrees) and the 17-year cicadas had emerged. In the morning, they cooled down the barn to 62 degrees so that it would be comfortable later in the day. A couple hours before the ceremony, they fogged the field where the ceremony would be held to chase away any insects, big or small. And then, they were the ones to open the barn doors for my husband and daughter to begin their walk down the aisle.
This venue and this couple are perfection -- and this mother-of-the-bride is forever grateful!

My husband and I got married at Oak Barn this June and could not have been happier with our choice of venues. As far as planning went, the owners Barb & Ernie we so accommodating and helpful. I loved that we had the venue for 3 days so we were able to utilize it for set up, rehearsal dinner, and were able to come back the day after the wedding to collect our things! Not only was it so helpful for logistics, the venue itself is absolutely STUNNING! Even if we would have had to stay indoors the entire time due to rain, we knew we would be happy with the venue. Thankfully, we were able to have it outside and had the more gorgeous sunset come out. String lights are my love language too, which they had on the entire event!! We got so many comments from our guests on what a beautiful venue it was. I could not recommend Oak Barn more!!!The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

My fiance and I are so obsessed with The Oak Barn at Loyalty that it's hard to capture everything in one review. It's a venue I thought could only exist in my dreams, but I'm so thankful it doesn't. The views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are everything I wanted and the wedding spaces are beautifully designed. Separate from that, Barb and Ernie are an absolute dream to work with. We had to postpone our wedding because of COVID and they were so accommodating and helpful as we considered our options. They worked with us with the ultimate goal of making sure our perfect wedding could come to life. The Oak Barn was a dream come true wedding! The best barn venue you can find in Northern Virginia! We had to move our wedding due to Covid and Barb & Ernie were so sweet and flexible to work with during the entire process! If you are looking for a barn wedding venue that is rustic and very chic, this is the venue for you! Along with such a perfect ceremony site with a beautiful view! Going with Oak Barn is the best wedding planning decision you will ever make. The owners made our entire experience feel so at ease and the venue is absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a venue with gorgeous view of the mountains, epic sunsets and a timeless look, this is the place for you. One of my favorite new features of the venue is their outdoor fireplace area where you can sit and relax at the end of the night with a roof over your head in case it rains. Great place for s'mores! Barb and Ernie were so flexible with the pandemic throwing a wrench in our wedding plans. We decided to do a small ceremony there with just immediate family in 2020 and moved our reception to 2022. As out-of-state residents, they were able to accommodate our schedules every time we wanted to call them or visit the property. We are so thankful for them and we can’t wait to host our 2022 reception at Oak Barn!The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

The Oak at Loyalty has everything you need to have the perfect fairytale wedding. We had the most amazing September wedding here. Barb and Ernie were the best to work with, they are were so understanding and flexible during the entire planning process especially given the current pandemic circumstances. We were especially grateful for the abundant space that this venue offers both outdoors and indoors for our guests to spread out and feel comfortable attending a wedding during these times. The ceremony setting is beautiful with a view of the mountains and the patio is the perfect space have cocktail hour or to have the dance floor under the stars. The barn has fantastic space for the reception with two beautiful chandeliers that add the perfect amount of class and glam. There is also an amazing loft area for guests to look down on the festivities both inside and outside.
The venue has an incredible bridal suite with ample room for the bridal party to get ready. There is also a great space for the groom and groomsmen to hang out and get ready which many other venues in the area neglect.
My husband and I looked at 9 venues total and The Oak Barn at Loyalty was the last venue we visited, but we knew almost instantly that this was the perfect venue for our wedding. Barb and Ernie have thought of everything that a venue needs for you to have a perfect and stress free wedding. We couldn’t have imagined having our wedding anywhere else! We honestly had the best time and so did our guests, no one wanted the night to end! The Oak Barn at Loyalty allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams.

When we first found the Oak Barn at Loyalty searching the internet for wedding venues, I remember the pictures of the venue looked beautiful.Then, after seeing it in person on our tour I was blown away. Between the beauty of the venue and the warmth of the owners, Ernie and Barbara, we knew we had to book with them. We got married at the Oak Barn at Loyalty in August 2020 and could not have been happier!
The owners did not cut any corners making the space look stunning and function well for weddings. While you could easily do a 200+ guest wedding in the space, it doesn't feel too big either for smaller groups (our ~80 guests fit nicely in the space). Outdoors the ceremony space looks out over the blue ridge mountains, making for gorgeous pictures and great views for guests. Many of our guests enjoyed taking in these views on the deck of the Oak Barn during the reception if they weren't big dancers. The outdoor patio space is perfect for cocktail hour, and looks so pretty at dusk when the bistro lights turn on above.
Ernie and Barbara are kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout the planning process. They're the kind of people you genuinely enjoy talking to. They clearly love being wedding venue owners and are constantly making upgrades to the venue to even further improve the space. Between the time we booked and got married, they added farm tables/chairs, chandeliers, and other pieces of decor. They also have a bridal suite on the property that made things super easy for my wife on the wedding day.
One key differentiator to note about Oak Barn is that they let you book whatever vendors you want. I didn't learn this until we started our venue search process, but many other larger venues in the area require you to go with their preferred vendor list. This can limit your options and drastically increase costs. My wife and I found this flexibility very useful as we worked our way through the planning process booking other vendors. That said, Ernie and Barbara do have some excellent recommended vendors if you are looking for guidance. The vendors they recommended to us that we used were awesome, they will not steer you wrong!
Overall, I could not be happier that we got married at the Oak Barn at Loyalty! The venue is beautiful, the owners are great, and your guests will be in awe on your wedding day!The Oak Barn at Loyalty's reply:

First let me say, the owners of The Oak Barn at Loyalty, Ernie and Barbara, are phenomenal. You could not find better owners to work with, which is more important than you may originally think. Ernie and Barbara host wedding because they love the joy it brings to each couple, it is more than just a business to them. They listen to what your envisioning and make it happen! They are there during every step of the process and welcome any questions or concerns you may have.
Not only are the owners great, but the barn and venue is incredible. The ceremony space looks right over mountains with plenty of trees, something I was specifically looking for. The inside of the barn has been built with intricate detail from each beam of wood, to the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. If you are looking for the perfect package for the wedding of your dreams, THIS IS IT!
My wedding has been postponed due to COVID-19. Ernie and Barbara have moved mountains to help all the brides who have been effected by this Pandemic. Q: Did we see ourselves going with a barn venue?
A: Not until we saw this one!
At the time I met Barb & Ernie I was literally going around and meeting with most all the venues in the DMV. I was (still am) selling advertising space to venues on WeddingWire. The plot twisted, when I ended up selling myself!
Throughout our initial meeting I couldn't stop noticing the sheer design. The flawless layout. They thought of EVERYTHING. (The only thing really missing, at the time and in my opinion, was a chandelier. They have 2 now. They actually had them installed just weeks before our wedding... unbelievable surprise. I think the best part is - both chandeliers can be displayed brightly or hidden quite nicely, depending on your taste;).
Now the true test - would my future hubs sell himself? I didn't say much, at all, like an experiment I wanted to see his unbiased reaction. I wanted to see if he would fall for it like I did. When I brought him and our 2 pups to the venue, we were there for over 3 hours. Just talking, hanging out, watching the dogs play, and figuring out a date that could work!
The overall vibe was most important to us, and the vibe is just right! You cannot beat the fresh air, the privacy, the temperature controlled barn (not as common as you would think) and not to mention... the built in contingency plan! It's the venue that really leaves you with nothing to worry about in terms of "what ifs?" it's all thought of, they have you covered. Which is great - because you don't want to learn the hard way on your wedding day - am I right!?
